Yes it gives a pleasurable whine when you put your foot down! Very satisfying! I have been able to drive it once, so far, with the roof down and it was good, but its still too cold really for the Mrs!
Thanks Al! and Tom. It is very much like getting back into Microcars again. It is strange really, as all the logic is not to go there again . We have often thought of an original Mini but always decided we could never get into it these days, yet somehow if you like a car enough all of that reasoning goes out of the window, or should I say roof! It should be fun though, open top, when the better weather comes!
Excellent video Mike. Nice slice of life with you and your wife. Watchets answer to the Stig. Very funny. Remember, fill up at Tescos not Morrisons!! All the best to you both....Tim.
So sorry for the delay in replying to you. I have been away for a few days. As I expect you have now found, it is possible to fit in all shapes and sizes after planning how best to enter. We find it best to put the tail in first at a right angle to the steering wheel and then rotate on the shiny leather seat, pulling the legs in too!
Tom and I think your new car is wonderful.Have fun Val and Mike. So neat and the roof and side windows are a very clever design. It seems to go well. I guess the smart you had was a fun car - I miss mine! Tom would like one but his mother would not be able to get in! (not a bad idea!)
When I wrote about your wife's top I was referring to the car! Surely you didn't think........anyway that would be a traffic hazard! Now there is a couple that go to car shows in Weston Super Mare area who have a two tone brown 1930's Austin, dark in lower areas but light brown roof. He wears dark brown trousers and a light brown top. She wears browns, bark skirt and light blouse. They bring their dog, two tone brown of course. Beat that.
Hello again! I didnt realise you had a Figaro. That car has often tempted us in the past! The Ford dealer we went to offers rear sensors fitted for £300... They come in black which my wife wanted painted silver . The dealer said that could be done for £50.In the end, that is all we paid because we did not trade in our previous car.Are we happy with the car? Yes, but its lack of interior space is still something we are having to sdjust to! !
Hello Mike, contacted you some time ago with ref to the methodist church, saw your latest car, i have been looking at these for some time and desired the car in green with tan leather and have found one that i am giving serious consideration to,how much did it cost you to have your sensors fitted, and do you have any issues with it, i have just sold my nissan figaro and am driving a merc coupe which i do`nt like
Hello! somehow your comment got delayed. We love the Copen inspite of it's hard suspension and rattles with the roof in place. Its the way it performs that satisfies!
i'm looking into buying one, and i can't find any decent reviews of this car in english. anyway. i'm probably going to get one of these models rather than the new ones, i like the round shaped lights and the beetle-like vibes..
it is a very unique car with such a lively engine which makes for satisfying driving! We can forgive its hard suspension and ratly roof when up! We twice in the past almost bought one but declined due to its limited carrying space but now enjoy ours as a great fun car, especially in fine weather!
so glad that four years on you're still replying to comments on your video! i'm not getting the copen for trunk space, i'm getting it for my daily ride from home to university and around my friends' neighbourhood with some mad attitude!
Came across your videos on the Copen looking up UK kei cars. You both come across as lovely people. A shame Daihatsu was practically eaten by Toyota - they made such quirky cars. Do you still have the Copen? I saw below that last year you did.
Thank you Craig for your kind comments - Yes indeed we still have the car which gives us a lot of pleasure, especially in the summertime, when we can go "topless". If you search for Copen on TH-cam you will see many more videos that we and others have made.
ADMIRALSCORNER thank you for your reply and long may she keep going for you both. I may well have to get one in a year or two myself. That rorty 3cyl growl seems tremendous fun.
A happy homecoming! And still giving you both so much pleasure. Fantastic! 🙂.

しみじみとした良いビデオだと思います。高齢のご夫婦が二人の楽しみのためにこの愛らしい車を選んだこと、静かな生活を愛する穏やかな気持ちが察せられます。
Thank you so much for commenting! We still enjoy our great little Copen although the older we get the more difficult it becomes to get in and out!
We are glad you enjoyed the video! We still love the car and are looking forward to open topped motoring again in the Spring!

Thank you! We are still having fun with the car especially when the roof is down and the sun shines!

Hi Tim Thanks for making us laugh! Normally Morrisons is less expensive so that is were we would go for petrol. Not so on that day!
Thank you! I can see from your channel you are a fan of the Copen too!
Mike, your dear wife has the same name as my mother by the sound of it, and seems just as stubborn!
A very entertaining part two Mike, Val's comments brought a smile to my face, look out Lewis Hamilton, you have some competition......Bob

I wish many happy miles, Mike !!
Hi Achillies. We all do enjoy motoring in miniature! Especially if the price is low too!

Many thanks, we found this very informative.
One thing I have learnt is that it is difficult to find in a car park as being so low it hides behind other cars!
Interesting to hear! I have not seen the new model. Sadly we can no longer buy a Daihatsu in the UK.

How true! You cant tell 'em!
it has a nice whine to it when you give er a kick
when do you get to drive it Mike? hahahaha
I am in two minds as whether to remove the antishake facility. Without it, at least the lamposts stay still!
I fully agree !!!
やっぱり格好良いですね!
how lovely!
What wonderful little cars they are! Cramped, rattly and with hard suspension, but wonderful!
Very nice! Could the dogs name be Rover?
Great video!
My fiancée is 5'10" and I'm 6'1" - would we be able to drive it okay?
Good review.. I am planning to buy copen, next year. Do you think still worthed ?

I drove one yesterday - we could both drive it okay :-)
You two sound like some boy "people" racers I know. Great fun and enjoy it while you can..

You will become very popular I am sure and have fun!!

The Copen certainly deserves to be a future classic.
You could well be right Bob!
£1.36 a litre in 2012, £1.22 in 2014. Nice.
It is not what you would expect is it? Fuel getting cheaper! Long may it continue!
Old age delinquents!
this cat is cool!!
but,next copen is ugly..
