if you press the gate button the sample doesn't play on
The plugin might just be storing a reference to the file system path vs loading the sample into the project, which a lot of samplers do, so when you delete or move the sample file it can’t find it.
loading a sample directly into a project using VST is sadly impossible, due to the way permissions work on DAW it would be almost a security risk if a vst plugin could just change and mess with system files of a user if that makes sense :) there is a few sampler plugins that solve this by converting whatever sample u load into a proprietary string of data making it able to store as a preset so that you can save the state of the plugin and the data ( hence sample ) remains. this has its benefits and downsides so often samples like TAL dont enable this by default but have a toggle to turn this on or off. we plan to also add this in an upcoming update :)
It just doesnt seem to like samples saved within the daw, maybe a file path or permission thing, if you store the samples on the desktop or documents etc it will open up back where you were including any settings.
For cutting a chop I made a tiny dummy slice with no sound and triggered it or switched on the Vel and did a 0 velocity note at end. Yep a bit workaround-ish but worked.

Does pressing caps lock in edit mode to add “off” in pattern work to cut if off?
I find I can't load one of my own patches if I have one already loaded and want to swap. I have to open a new instance of amigo every time.
Try using gate mode for the sample to stop.🙏
Not had that problem in studio one, sounds like a bug to me.
I'm not using Windows 11 for my music so it possible it's that.
Also just noticed with the phase, it seems to change almost round robin like. If i play through once, it acts one way, replay then produces different results from the same automation, anyone else having this trouble?
VST3 dont load in Skale so im up the river without a paddle lol... Wont the note off command work in Renoise, The Caps lock key? Big up Bizzy!

Just had this happen on a project I'd been working on for a while. Each instance of it lost the sample, and I haven't deleted or moved anything.
As long as you can find the audio you were working with again, it's fine, but it's a huge pain.
Not had this problem in ableton or bitwig with the samples missing. One thing that has been bugging me is when you print the audio, it adds a 'groove' to it, no matter how spot on you get your slicing it has a delay. Theres no plugin latency, so no idea why its doing it! With the sample stopping, seems to happen in through mode, the mute in ableton and bitwig works ok but, that is using the channel mute not amigos, just annoying to have to keep writing the automation in.
Checkout PAULA Max for Live device it uses TAL-DAC to emulate the Amiga Paula sound chip. Part of the MANY WORLDS SAMPLE CD.
No missing file error here after extensive use.
As for the sample continuing, does putting it in gate mode instead of one shot fix the issue?
yes GATE mode is the solution, this was in the manual all along :)

I haven't used amigo in a while but I remember opening one of the project files for one of my tunes made with Amigo and i haven't got the error so..
Because u havnt moved the file somewhere else. If u do u will get it.
What I do to bypass the trigger through is use the Automation settings and turn the device off and on. I was having an issue too as well as Amigo not finding the file but I realized once I moved my sample folder it kind of resets the VST. But once you find a sample it works like it was never missing

Groove Agent loses files like this, I dropped it. I love Amigo... but I am using TAL Drum and TAL Sampler. Simple, reliable and sound great.
I haven't come across this in Ableton...
The plugin has a very primitive file manager, it's what it is. TAL Sampler even if you remove the drive and change the letter, if you put the drive back you just have to locate the drive then TAL will automatically search for the file(s) that is missing. Worst than all of this is that Renoise has an horrible file manager too, you can't drag and drop samples into the plugins like you can in any DAW in existence.
next big update we already have a new internal filebrowser added which should help a ton with workflow for renoise users :)
I gave up on saving patches in any sampler lol the only patch ive bothered saving is my own version of an init patch.
MY biggest issue with amigo is that i cannot drag samples straight in from my daws sample browser (because i use reason) so I have to browse it using the normal file browser meaning I get no preview and also means I have to bounce a lot of things out (i.e. stuff from refills) just for amigo making me have doubles of things i dont need.
I also find it a mad struggle to remove pops and clicks from loop points in amigo especially when working on bass samples.
Also sometimes even with the gate mode on the sample will just loop forever I think this is a bug with the loop mode function itself.
I use Reason I don't have this bug, don't forget to report to dev the bug.

Couldn't you just turn on gate? That seems like the appropriate mode for Renoise. I haven't had missing samples but I'm annoyed a tiny bit that the custom colors don't stick in Ableton.
strange colors save fine in ableton for myself and others, are you pressing the save button in the color palette editor ?
@@stekker1 I guess it's not that they don't stick but when I change one instance it changes all of the instances. I've been using several or many instances in an instrument rack and thought different colors might be helpful.

I found Amigo really buggy. I’m sure they’ll fix all the bugs eventually. I’ll carry on Tal Sampler and the Simple Sampler in Logic in the meantime
I had the same exact problem with it keeping samples in ableton 11 projects.... I stopped using it, honestly I wasnt as BLOWN away as everyone has been raving about it for..... Tal sampler makes it obsolete.
Tal pisses all over it. Just a bit shit to use.
Biz brother! Don't even interact with this. Amigo is a gimmick, it's not coded in raw C++. It's made from one of those silly vsts maker packages. The creators make daft tracks mocking jungle, making it sound overly 90s of lofi, in a satire type way, it's all a joke and a mockery mate. And they are mocking you as you are the actual pioneer. You are above this Biz.
what are you on about mate its written in pure C++ with JUCE framework, and ive been making jungle on actual amigas for years before this plugin being friends with people like pete, phineus II, amiga junglism etc 🤦🏻♂ also how are we mocking bizzy or jungle in any way? where is your proof? its okay to not like the plugin we are not forcing anyone to like or buy it so normally i would ignore such comments but this is just straight up slanderous and lies for no reason whatsoever

Amigo is crap, it's annoying, overly lofi and used by the creators to make crappy fake lofi. It's a hipster turd. Just use an Akai people. the investment is worth it.

Remove the need to downgrade the sample because it would be nice just as a quick slicer.

@@TheBizzyBScience I would like to use the VST as a standalone slicer, because it's quick and easy.
Currently the highest sample rate is 32K or something like that. If you could load a sample without downgrading it would be handy for just slicing and not degrading.
It defeats the object of it being amiga but as said it's quick and easy for chopping.

@@TheBizzyBScience Maybe I should try the TAL sampler for that. I use studio one and their sampler is too long winded for slicing.
