4:58 Cheryl actually does a great mini-impression of Larry here, so endearing!! Such an inspired choice, pretty cool that the core group of actors has been exactly the same since 1999 (RIP Bob Einstein)
Cheryl is so warm and affectionate. It makes me feel all melty inside watching her all the time. It's a perfect contrast to Larry's brashness, and with that, it does a good job accentuating it.
The moment in which Cheryl touches Larry’s sleeve and then he automatically taps it to clean it shows how much part of the real Larry is in the fictional character.
Larry's right about not being to "actory". This is exactly why "friends" sucked. They tried to rip off Seinfeld, but failed miserably because they injected acting. Seinfeld and Curb both feel REAL, and that's what makes them genius! Actors ruin comedy when they "act funny", that's why they say "dying is easy, comedy is hard". IT IS! Larry and the rest are masters of comedy.
Golgotha_Mythos69; I don’t think Friends is a good example. Curb Your Enthusiasm has very good comic actors. I couldn’t get into Seinfeld because imo Jerry can’t act. He’s not good on Curb either to me.
DAM FLA Where better for a comedian to perform than NYC? Most big comedians still perform at small NYC basement clubs, eg. Louis CK, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld. Its a way for them practice new bits and to hone their acts before going on the road, TV, or filming a special.
4:00 So fascinating...Cheryl's observation of Larry being very anti "actor-ee" rofl 2:23 why did Larry brush off his hand - I can't tell if it's a cherishing or "eww" gesture
He’s kind of a germaphobe. Remember the episode called “The Table Read” where Jason (George) is sticking Larry’s pen in his mouth, nose, ears lol it was really funny actually
interesting dynamic between the actors... they still act like a married couple. it interests me that at 3:40 there is some slightly relieved applause when funkhauser makes a joke not in character! There's this awkward atmosphere in the whole clip of 'are they ACTUALLY the same people as on the show??' Larry of course would jokingly say 'well yeah!' -- how much do these people feel like they actually have to become their characters in real life?
But the reason I (a regular person) can't do an actor's job is because the job is not just saying the line without laughing; it's also reflecting something of the character's spirit which is not automatically discernable when you read his/her lines. Cheryl tries to show that she loves Larry in physical gestures although her love is rarely explicily stated in the script/outline. That's why she is the right person to ask the question.
In real life the majority of the communication is non-verbal, whether it's through body language, tone etc. So applying the same concept to acting, in order to get something across to the audience, the actors are actually doing the majority of the work, while the writers are only providing the words.
Pay attention to how Cheryl always touches Larry’s hand. That’s very intimate thing to do. And he doesn’t move her hand away or feels uncomfortable. They did it is what I’m saying irl for sure 😂
I think she married him as he does what she would love to do but as she would lose her "good person" image, her husband do. She always look as the good one near him
I think Cheryl really likes Larry in real life bc I remember an interview with her. She mentioned how uncomfortable she felt with Vivica Fox coming in as his new partner. Plus, she acts a little like his wife off camera. Weird! She is a little bit. Way too serious personality.
2:39 typical real life Curb scene: Cheryl: ... this musicians play downstrais... (interrupts) Larry: to play the Wagner. Cheryl: yeah... probably real life Larry thinking to himself, it's not some musicians, they are playing fucking Wagner, he composed the Siegfried Idyll as a birthday present to his second wife, Cosima, after the birth of their son Siegfried in 1869.
For some reason I think Cheryl would be the one that all the others kinda think is the loser of the group. Her character is supposed to contrast the dryness of Larry, but it seems that just shows that in real life she's a bit like the sore thumb compared to the rest of the cast.
Still feel as though the show ended the marriage far too abruptly. Understand their not wanting to DRAMATIZE a crumbling marriage, doesn't fit show's tone. But to end the marriage in one episode, with the characters seemingly satisfied with divorce at episode's finish, made everything in the show seem a little bit more hollow, all the characters more comedic functions/devices than flesh and blood.
I legitimately started crying when Bob Einstein said 'I'm still getting over Richard answering that question.'
I love how Bob Einstein is in character for this.

The Funk Man is amazing in these. He just randomly chimes in with antagonizing comments.
2:24 Larry doesn’t like to be touched haha
1:41
She's right though, I know it's always part of a setup to the joke, but Larry did do a few really adorable things for Cheryl in the show
Especially waking her up to a live orchestra in the house playing Wagner 😆 🤣 😂
the first minute of this clip may be the best thing I've ever seen

As support: the Chandler- Monica marriage proposal scene. One of the most cloying, embarrassing to watch sitcom scenes of the past three decades.
Friends had its glory days...but couldn't stand the test of time...CURB's style of comedy is still relevant today as in back from that first season...
well said
Agreed.

Cheryl pointing at Lewis like "this f**king guy" made my day....
Hahaha I love Richard Lewis
Without CYE Lewis would be working in NYC basement comedy clubs.
Richard kicks this off brilliantly, and The Funk Man butting in when Cheryl is rambling is comic genius. 😂
2:23 lol, larry wipes his hand where she touched him.
Their drinking water lol. Her hand was prob wet lol. Sheesh
@@naraposthumus8478 stil works

mlke I

I think her hands were wet from water lol.
1:41?
I love that Funkhowser is always in character 😂
It's not a character, that's HIM.
funkhouser seems genuinely bitter and hostile.....hilarious

I was thinking the same thing. It really seems like they have an off-camera thing going on. The whole clip screamed of that.
NO FUCKING WAY DID RICHARD TRY TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION. THIS IS THE GREATEST THING EVER
In real life the majority of the communication is non-verbal, whether it's through body language, tone etc. So applying the same concept to acting, in order to get something across to the audience, the actors are actually doing the majority of the work, while the writers are only providing the words.
Jeff Garlin has the most entertainingly infectious laugh.
We’ll miss you, Richard.
Thay are just Great!
I Love this show so much! :-)
Thanks for uploading :-)
Bob dominated the entire session!! I wish he were still healthy ..

i think cheryl married larry for the money in the show
That's part of it, at least it seems
+Simpsorama50 yes ofc. when he dies and goes to heaven. 5 seconds after she asks for the 5.000 $ and starts talking about the will
yea i remember that
I think she married him as he does what she would love to do but as she would lose her "good person" image, her husband do. She always look as the good one near him
Heh, thinking the same thing...
I love how nobody's paying attention to this guy's questions.
@4:42 I heard "fucking" instead of "talking". Imagine that with Cheryl saying "taking a previous moment and getting into character" hahaha.
Does anyone know where I can watch the whole video discussion, tired of watching these little tid bits
Kyle P Yeah I'm looking for the same fucking thing...
yeah man, i never did find it
Kyle P There's a playlist with all videos, I think it has the whole show, because all the videos together are like 50 minutes long.
oh no shit? thanks man...ill be checking them out
LOL Richard!!!
😂
lmao i love richard so damn much

Ha! The very last line: " we don't do that on the show"
I agree with Cheryl. Some nice moments with her and Larry wouldn't have been bad lol
Gotta be my favourite show.
2.24 Larry gets his hand touched and he reacts EXACTLY like LD would in the show...
where can i see the whole thing?
The 2 funniest dudes in this video are gone💔
yep they were always the funniest in conversational setting. which is my favorite kind of comedian
man, how much fun it would be to hang out with these guys?
i had a bad opinion on cheryl, but now that i heard her here, she sounds like a really cool gal
Best show
i see how larry and cheryl love each other
The funkman is on 🔥 here...😂
For some reason I think Cheryl would be the one that all the others kinda think is the loser of the group. Her character is supposed to contrast the dryness of Larry, but it seems that just shows that in real life she's a bit like the sore thumb compared to the rest of the cast.
HAHAHAH thats so funny!!! "we dont do that on the show"
You're obviously a big fan of the show.
Nice
i would love to smoke a couple joints with richard larry bob and jeff. imagine the arguments and conversations
You think Larry David would spend more than five seconds listening to a babbling pot head? Nope.
we don't do that on this show Hahahahaha
The genius of the show and these actors is that I still can't tell if this is an episode or real life.
It does feel different, but then it does not
Marty is the funniest guy
She probably is greatly affectionate because he gave her her break.
Yeah, just look how often she touches and holds/tries to hold Larry's hand in this clip.
so dang funny
cheryl is money grubbing
Super dave is legend
I always thought there was an element of Cheryl's....love for larry that had to do with his money. Surprised they didnt mention it here
Cheryl showing her intellectual prowess as usual
She loves him because he's funny but through the years, it gets annoying. That's what marriage is. It's, oh crap, I'm stuck with this guy?
+kaetlin rollison marriage is bringing up children, if you ask me
Still feel as though the show ended the marriage far too abruptly.
Maybe Larry originally cast her because he wanted to make something happen.
Where is J.B. Smoove?
this was before he was a major part. just getting started
the funniest comments are from the guy who plays Funkhauser. every phrase he says is a nuke.
RIP bob
She definitely does kiss him later on...
High on life! What a babe. So charming. They should date in real life.
RIP Funkman.
We don't do that on this show.
Richard Lewis ❤
Why does Larry make that face when Cheryl talks about him kissing her? I'm a straight chick and I wouldn't mind kissing Cheryl Hines
He can't imagine people wanting to see him kissing her and also probably finds it embarrassing. That's what I would think.
I was always a big Cheryl fan until I found out she was cheating on Larry with Bobby Kennedy.
super dave's voice always like that?
yep. the late Bob always had that rasp
yah =/ lol
Cheryl is so hot!
MARTIE FUNKHAUSER
Moorty Foonkhoosor
Marry me Cheryl
Oh okay. Good then it wasn't just me. She seems to lack a large sense of humor 2.
Cheryl is good on the show, but she’s a squeaky pain in the arse everywhere else.
She is painful to listen to when there is no script.
