You must be close to the top of your craft to get a crew position on a boat like that . I grew up in the boating community when a 65' Viking was the big daddy......cannot imagine a 92!

I’m very surprised that a boat of that size, purpose and value doesn’t have dedicated fish boxes for larger fish like that Jumbo Yellowfin. Resorting to kill bags is kind of a bummer amidst all that opulence.

I fish on both, and honestly fishing wise 80 percent of the time I’d rather be on the little outboard boat
i like fishing on outboards, but for overnight trips, a hot shower, a hot meal, satellite tv to watch football and a bed in a cool personal AC room is pretty amazing. beats sweating you butt off in a bean bag chair!

I thought the Outdoor Adventure, 45’ Viking Open, out of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin was awesome. 92’, pure high class luxury.
Does it catch more fish?
That stuff is neat to play with but fishing isn't fishing anymore. In Venice last year went tuna fishing, non stop action but before we could get lines in a blue marlin jumped, it was probably feeding, when I say jumped it wasn't like a hooked marlin sticking it's head up and giving a head shake, this was horizonal at least as tall as me 6ft out of the water but that was a highlight of the trip, I didn't need to catch it (it was about 700-800lb conservative) the tuna we were catching this fish would swallow them whole. I would hate to see a fish like that caught, it was beautiful. saw a couple small type of whale a shark was hooked I saw a wild alligator on the way out, it was special. Soon the boat will catch the fish for you and there'll be none left! It's not fishing.
you still have to track the fish, get the thing to actually eat, and then land it after all of that. its still fishing, you can just see the fish better
for sure should have cut n bled the fish all over the decks of that shiny yacht. Opportunity lost!

That is a bad ass luxury fishing boat. You say 4000 gallons is a lot of fuel but for that size boat and those giant power plants including the generators it’s really not that much. That thing consumes many gallons of fuel per hour. That is one beautiful boat or should I say one beautiful luxury fishing vessel

that boat has a ton of weird issues, have a good friend that worked on that boat for years. they were very ambitious with the build and kind of overdid/under did a lot of things that didnt work out well. weird motor problems, lots of fuel issues, lots of weird stuff

They have come so far since the early days of the Bertram vs Hatteras Shootouts in the Bahamas. Then they turned to Manufacturers shootouts to include the venerable 43 Viking and their 60 version as well battling the mighty 54 Bertram and the Hatteras 60GT for supremacy 😂 So those rigs like Joe was showing will have a guy running the boat and another guy working the sonar it's insane. Could we have ever imagined a day where a thru hull transducer would cost more than your new truck??? And anyone who has ever worked on a Sporty to think we could ever throw the Shammy away??? Wow

I just don't see the sport in it, just like big game hunting. I knew a guy that paid 25k to to Africa and kill some big animal, he had a whole crew of trackers, guns 4 wheel drives, just all kinds of crap. I told him to have a helicopter drop him off in the middle of the African plains, naked as the day he was born, come out a week later with a lion's head and THEN I will be impressed. Same crap here, radar, sonar, deck hands all this crap, people even catch the bait for you, geez. Do they bait the hook for you too, like my dad did for me when I was 5. You do know that the North Sea is almost devoid of life because of all the over-fishing don't you? Beautiful boat though.

That chili crunch is great i got some for xmas last year. Also about the Siracha shortage it was because the red jalapenos they make it out of where not ripe yet down in mexico and they ran out of old stock so idk if you noticed earlier in 2024 right when you started seeing it on shelves again there was almost a muddy colored batch because the used under ripe peppers which are orange and green which when mixed is mud colored. The more you know 🌈 ✨

that ponzu sucks - best one;
Step 1 make limemade
limes and sugar - 2 limes or so, 2tbl spoon sugar (to taste) limey and sweet
some soy for color (think tsps at a time) you want umami but not salty
sushi vinegar or sweet rice vinegar (splashes in tsp amounts)
mirin (tbl spoons) for balance
youll never go back to bottled ponzu

Very cool. Also, every tournament from marlin to crappie is unwinnable without spending a small fortune that is directly relative to the size of the fish. Taditional sonar bros are so cooked.
Joe. I am very impressed at what you did in this video. It was an amazing look into the high dollar sport fishing Industry and what the competition is like these days. I guess the old days of just fishing are long gone. I would imagine a captain has got to go to college just to learn how to work all the equipment on here. I would love to see you with the boat in the heat of a tournament. Maybe you can ride along and film them in action. Is the crew paid to fish these tournaments or does the boat owner receive all the glory and money? Maybe you can go over the ins ne outs and where the money goes. I am an experienced 5th generation commercial fisherman out of Cortez FL. How would I go about getting a spot on the crew for a boat like this? I'm assuming by the look of the vessel it pays well.

I'd live on that boat for sure man. And take people just to live for free haha. That boat is beautiful man for sure. That's alot of fishing trips to pay for that boat unless you're winning big tournaments. I said 4000 gallons of fuel so I win haha.
How do you afford to keep this boat going though? Also what are the maintenance costs? I guess if you use the boat to compete and do well in tournaments you can kinda offset the maintenance and gas costs. Also I can't believe this is only 10 million dollars.

I’ve spent so much time from Destin to Grand Isle my whole life. Great fishing in the Gulf and the beaches in Destin are some of the best in the world. I mean that and anyone who knows knows that’s true.
