I got bored after playing it 1 after another until I got my green badge
Though I think I might get addicted to it again as it has been like a month since I played it
Because most of the player base quit and the only people playing are the one tricks that play 8800 games of their favorite mon

I like to set up a kill for Magikarp as a defender but most of the time the fish just ignored it and went farming, unbothered.

Gyarados is the one of those rare all-rounders that's neither underwhelming nor too broken, it's underplayed for sure, but it's so fun to play. It's sad that the other build is absolutely trash and it's pain to play.
Waterfall isn’t trash anymore but aqua tail is pretty bad
@@Nettspend24 I know, I just forgot the name of the move which you just mentioned "aqua tail". See it's so insignificant to even remember, ofc Ik the other three are good namely waterfall, dragon breath and bounce.

Magikarp likes to stack
shouldn't you stack before evolution? just curious
If you can line up a kill somehow then you'll easily get as many stacks you want after evolving. Stacking before evolving seems too much of a risk.
I mean if gyarados evolves before the bees fight is over then you have the best mon in the game atp amd can snowball your lane and destroy the lane. Then you have a free goal zone to stack up.
In case of a mon like Magikarp it depends on whether the enemy laners are too much for you to at least escape after a dunk or if you can get a dunk or teo and get out juat gine
I’ve had multiple games where I go early stacking as Magikarp and I manage to either catch or coordinate with goal-defending ally to take down the opponent stacker on the way back to my goal.

i kinda wish they would just drop the evolution requirement. ever since they buffed it, it’s essentially just a level 4 evolution.
it’s better with the buff but tbh one of the most exciting things about gyarados was getting a KO in lane and evolving 2 levels earlier than it “should”
I mean it is the best mon in the game atp when it evolves so removing the requirements would just start the same old criticism that eveelutions get.
And if they had stuck with the old requirements then ppl would complain we are playing with a hindrance and then they would have compensated for it by the same logic as they did with ttar and/or most ppl would be dancing as a magikarp till 5 min mark bcoz there lane got destroyed.
@@lloydter i mean the whole point was that magikarp IS an active hinderance until it evolves, after which it becomes a monster.
MY point is that magikarp should feasibly always evolve at level 4, and if not level 4, at the exact same time in game.
i don’t see the point of having a weird evolution design if it’s not going to be functionally different than everything else. at least before it was interesting because magikarp could evolve at 4 or at 6, the difference between those evolution levels reflecting the skill level and decision making of the players. now it’s just hold down the A button and you evolve for free.
@@SuperEljafruthere are so many early game bullies like eveelutions, slowbro, a9, cram, etc in the meta rn that would just make gyarados impossible to evolve if we are stuck with a bad matchup and the old evo criteria no matter how skilled you are. And we already have a really bad example of hindrance to monster in the game in ttar. Also magikarp use to evolve at around lvl 20s in the original game too that wasn't too late.
So the current compromise is the best from the game prespective as you can still hinder it's evo but at the same time you need to put in "effort" to evolve and won't simply evolve at level 4 with a exp share lane partner and at last won't be dancing as a fish till half the game is finished like during its release.
It's just a 10 min moba game not an endless rpg.
@@SuperEljafru + you can't even farm with this guy so you would be super underlevelled in games you are bullied early on without evolving and ghen gyarados would struggle to get back in the game. And if they buff its gyarados stage then it would be troublesome later on.
So the current version is what's the best balance wise.
Waterfall > Aqua Tail?
You can play both moves in the same set
Would make more sense to ask if Dragon Pulse > Aqual Tail.
In which case... yes. Dpulse doesnt get canceled much, whereas even a soft blow of wind will stop your Aqual Tail
