The Chef’s Choice Platter has haunted me for years. A glorious, cross-cultural mishmash of cuisines piled high and deep, devoured by a warrior and downed with a flagon of ale. Then it dawned on me: it was a “chef’s choice” platter, and I’m the chef! So I’m making what I want and devouring it like a warrior - slowly, in sensible portions, as leftovers throughout the week.

This is, to me, is what sets Babish apart from other TH-camrs. When others launch merch or other things, it’s always like $50 for a cheap hoodie or something stupidly overpriced like that but Babish’s stuff is literally the basics at prices that are comparable to other essential brands like OXO, etc. Well done Babby

Anybody else love his ads? I like how he never takes himself too seriously, while at the same time almost parodying all the pretentious ads that try to make the person sound ultra-sophisticated, especially for hard liquor.
Can personally vouch for the Babish cookware. I bought the 6" santoku, 8" inch chef blade, and tiny whisks to combine until homogenous. Solid kitchen equipment that never lets me down. I plan on tackling a few different iconic meals from Monster Hunter. Only problem is every time I watch this video I am reminded of how INSANE THEY ARE. Thanks for doing this, Babish. You're a true hunter.

Babish literally decided to begin cooking he needed to make his own knifes and cookware from scratch
You know when you people arent qualified for a job cus it requires a specific level of education even though you have the experience and can physically do the job and have for years incredibly well but they dont believe you and still wont hire you? You beat them at their own game and you make knives, then you ask, 'Who's qualified now'?
That "clef knife" looks a lot like my favorite knife that my dad bought in a convenience store ~15 years ago, which I haven't been able to find a replacement for since. I'm severely tempted although I'm not a huge fan of the logo on the handle.

Having watched your videos for quite sometime I want to say I appreciate and love that you leave in the mess ups that happen when you do stuff. It makes you and your channel very real and relatable. Plus, it's funny at times.
I've been cooking since I was 9...now I'm 41. This guy is a blast! I love how he's so eager to experiment with fusion ideas. Merging dishes and cooking styles is something I love.... personally I like mixing latin and South American...tex-mex ideas with east Asian... especially Japanese and Korean. I make a ceviche with smoked ham, kimchi, and fish flakes....on top of the more traditional elements....I add some golden berry (yellow tomato that taste like mango and plum wine to the salt, lime juice and cider vinegar....or olives and hair thin red chilli strips that are used in Japanese dishes. So theirs a lil Italian in their too
I still remember when he hardly showed us his face, now he's selling us his own line of cookware. What an amazing evolution

One thing I love about Babish is that he leaves all the silly mistakes in; it is great to show aspiring home cooks that mistakes are a part of cooking, and clearly don't ruin the final product

And I love how he makes light of them and jokes around with them. It helps show mistakes are ok, even encouraged if you can learn from them (circumstantially, of course. There's nothing where mistakes are 100% encouraged), in my opinion. Humor is also something that makes light of negative situations and shows they aren't that bad, in the long run

I like the inspiration from multiple cultures it's cool and feels appropriate for an experienced chef

It's recommended to camouflage before sneaking, but you can catch one if you got an Mega Dash Juice on hand

please make these knives be sold worldwide, I live in Brazil and I'm literally in love with the babish cookware
I like to think that the hunters don’t actually eat everything in one go, but they take the leftovers with them so they can eat on the airship. (A lot of locations in Monster Hunter take at least a day to get to by airship when the canon world map is taken into account.)
I’d be pretty concerned if the rotten veil, elder’s recess, coral palace and castle shrade were really that close together

Considering how much they move and the weapons they swing around, I’m guessing their bodies need a lot of calories.
There absolutely are lore reasons for why Hunters are the way they are, caloric intake and strength and all. Not gonna say it for spoiler reasons, but check it out if you're curious! Monster Hunter lore is pretty cool.

I want epic proportioned meals like the absurd feasts my hunter devoured before hunts in World (and in most MonHun games ive played; i cant remembr any where there werent oversized platters or multiple plates).
And on that, unlike the other games... Im not eating the monster meats. The meals always included some part of the local wildlife in them which always made the meals even better

I did a non-seafood version of the Pibembop with chicken and it was amazing. I've used a similar technique he used on the shrimp for pork as well, always tasted great.
