  • Everyone knows how a classic Prestige feels. Both the Pro and the MP versions are precise control and feel delivering machines. Therefore we chose to first review a lesser-known version of the classic, the Head Prestige Tour. Expecting to not like it at all, the racket actually surprised us with its liberal access to spin and unmuted power compared to the bigger two. Well, it might've not surprised all of us with its power aaand to find out who got a little disappointed watch the video all the way through!

    Great review! This is my racket of choice and for 2 years since its release I couldn't find any positive reviews of it.. or any reviews at all really. It made me sad... Agree with Grisha that it produces a surprising amount of spin. Great videos and keep up the hard work Gladiators!

      @@gladiatorstribe indeed, weird. Soon it will be rebranded to the MP when the new Prestiges are released, and the static weight will go up to 310, so it should be better. Please also review the Pure Aero VS.. my other racket. ;)

      Using the Tennis warehouse university tools. the sweet spot, spin potiential and return of energy etc is among the best if not the best. I think It is on the tour just as pro stock models. The pros endorses often models that they do not play with at all themselves. and I think this racket comes close to some pro stocks models that the general public do not have much access to (before adding weight and other costumisation).

    Great video. Currently and for more than a year that I have been playing with the prestige tour, I chose it for its generous 99 hoop and for its unusual 18x19 string pattern which has something of both types, open pattern and closed pattern. As the racket itself was 305 grams unstrung (light for my taste) and with a more tight balance for the head, I added a leather grip and some weight inside the grip. It is true that at the beginning the racket feels strange, it is difficult to spin low balls, for example. but once you start to hit solid and close the shot quickly, or even if your style of play is rather flat, it is an excellent racket, the one-handed backhand in my case is spectacular, slice and volley the same, in serve too Even with my kick serve I feel very safe. If you customize this racket it is totally worth it.

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! Agree with you on pretty much everything you've said. For a racket like that, even the spin is present. Pretty good balance of control and power. Very underrated frame in my opinion.

    Great review. I play with the 360+ Extreme Tour and this review sounds a lot like my stick. Great for slices, my OHBH feels great. Good balance of power and control plus good amount of spin. Almost same specs. I think main difference is that mine has a bit lower SW than the Prestige Tour (-5pts aprox). Hope you review it soon in order to compare. Keep up the good work!

    I've got a suggestion. How about you guys try out 'lower tier' rackets? There are a few reasons behind this suggestion: One is that it was my first racket was a Babolat boost strike and I would like to know what you guys think of it. Secondly I believe a lot of newbies to tennis rather want to buy a cheaper 'beginner' racket, so that's something they would search for. As far as I could find, I didn't really find any results, reviews, so this might be something that would help you guys get a few more viewers, because the content itself is great. Hope you guys have a great day, great vid, keep it up!

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much! We really appreciate your awesome feetback! As far as more beginner rackets go, we wouldn't be able to show our full competence reviewing lower tier rackets, simply because they don't fit our tennis. Our objectivity might get compromised due to that. That is why we first want to cover the higher tier rackets and then see what we can figure out.

    Lovely vid as usual guys! Any plans to review the new blade v8 18x20 string pattern? You guys have done the 16x19 for the v8 and v7, but not an 18x20 yet and I believe that’s the better version of the blade (?). Great review as always, great use of humor making it enjoyable to watch 🔥. The review got me interested in the racquet so I’d like to ask your opinion on this racquet vs the Gravity line up. Looking at the specs and the descriptions esp now with the bigger head size, how would you compare this to the Gravity in the similar style? Also, the string pattern with 18x19 sounds pretty weird, I haven’t played with anything similar. I used to play with the Youtek Prestige MP and Pro so play testing the newest 2022 version was a huge “welcome home” feel with the lowered weight now. It looks really nice, on sale right now too, but considering that I already have the Gravity Tour, it’ll be a tough decision haha.

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Comparing the Prestige Tour to the gravity lineup: It's more powerful than the Gravity Tour as well as less controlled. Compared to the Gravity Mp It's got more control but certainly less power.

    hey gladitor tennis!Tennis modern forehand (semi westen) Do most pros finish with the windshield wiper motion? What happens to the wrist and forearm during contact ? Does the forearm rotate?

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there! This is a really difficult question to answer quickly. The short answer would be: it really depends on the person. The forearm will rotate either way when we get to the end of the motion but depending on your style it might happen more aggressively or gradually. Wrist motion is more of the same, depending on your style you might whip it a lot or play more flat. I know the answer isn't too specific but it's about as good as I can get in the comment section 😬

    Do you guys have plans of trying the Prestige Pro 2021 (the former Prestige MP)? I know you made the joke in the beginning of the video, but I actually really like the racquet and I'd be interested to see your guys's thoughts! It's a heavier racquert and more solid that I feel is in the same category as the Gravity Pro so maybe it's more in Grisha's ballpark? Either way, I'd love to see a review on it!

    hey
    I am want to try out new racquet.... Can you tell me the difference in gravity tour and prestige tour. Since gravity tour is your racquet of choice, you can tell me the true story. I have not played with these but the specs are pretty same, a very same difference in string pattern, head size, SW. I do not know why head launched two very similar racquets?
    And also tell me which is more powerful? According to CPI index, prestige should be more powerful.
    MY last question is that people say that they have seen gravity tours having Swing Weight over 340 very frequently (IT should be around 326). Have you experienced anything like this, I am asking cause you have multiple gravitys.
    Please answer my all three questions, I always like your unbiased opinions

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My racket of choice is actually the Head Gravity Pro not the Tour. Anyway, similar specs maybe but they don't play the same. Not only the difference in the head size but also the string pattern makes a difference. The main one I would say is power. The Prestige is noticeably more powerful and has better access to spin. While the Gravity is more controlled. Talking swingweight, I don't play with the Tour but my Pros came in relatively similar. Minor lead adjustments were made to leave them exactly the same. Doesn't mean that all the Gravity Rackets come well balanced though.

  • @benjaminjensen111
    @benjaminjensen111 ปีที่แล้ว

    I guess Greg and Grisha has gotten better with their backhands and gotten used to this racket as they give it 8 overall in its later auxetic version which is more or less the same as the 360+ as the auxetic do very little in the prestige frames. and I think the spiral fibers are still there in the auxetic (Grapehene inside) but just not advertised.
