For most it is easier to become self absorbed, play the martyr, and crawl away into the darkness. Seeing difficulties with an optimistic lens makes all the difference. Having been through some doozies - I am a better person instead of a bitter person.
I had some really bad things going on which I was accused of and had to go to court and everything over it. Because it had to do with my grandchildren my daughter had to go live with her dad. I went through and became happy in the end because I have my house to myself now and my daughter has gone through a lot of tribulation but now owns her own place and we have a better relationship now than we have had since she was a child. We both made it through and are stronger and happier from it! Alway trust in God he knows what he is doing!!!!!!!!
Your words of wisdom reminds of Hebrews 5 10 "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love -- supplemented by 1 Cor 6 9 "Know ye not that the Unrightoeus shall not inherit the kingdom of God??"
