    Fantastic review. Would love if you guys could one day do spider charts for all the shoes you review, would help in picking one so much.

    Ok. Here in Argentina this shoe will arrives in 2 years aprox. The V2 was the best I´d used. But the upper brokes before 300 kms. The third version is around 160 usd,
    and I know they improve the upper materials.

    Great review! I got the rebel v3 last year after watching your review and was easily the most fun shoe I have ever run in. Just got the v4 and done a couple of runs. Although not as poppy and nimble as the v3 but evens out in comfort for longer runs and the stability that it offers.

    Good to hear that wide toebox has not bothered you. I tried my normal size on and was swimming in the uppers with my narrow feet. Its hard to understand why NB uses such a rooym fit on the standard model when they offer a wide fit model!

    Excellent and fair sounding assessment. Rebel is good… Nick still likes the Puma Velocity Nitro and Hoka Mach 5… Rebel on the plateless top spot conversation!

    @marcdupont9998 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Was really looking forward to this Nick. I realize you opinion will evolve as you keep testing others this year, but am glad you like them.
    Sounds like NB bumped up their game with this Rebel, so indeed as you alluded, will be interesting to see how the SC Trainer has changed to differentiate it from the Rebel. Have avoided it last go-round because you were not keen on it. My guess? It's maybe more just a consumer market share issue. They might both do the trick as (albeit slightly different types of) dailies. They'll put two shoes out there that might be relatively similar but appeal to different audiences (Rebel after all might psychologically attract younger noon-athletes too ... or one group who prefers high stack and one who prefers lower). But I could not agree more with your regular, subtle mentions that it is perhaps more geared to speedier work, than long distance (tho hear you in that it has more distance in it now).
    Question: I personally LOVED the SC Elite V3s. My wife and I both ran our 2023 marathons in them. Would you agree with the following or suggest an alternative to this kind of rotation for 2024 for us. Would love your feedback (realizing other shoes to come out shortly):
    1. Plateless Rebel V4s for speedier interval work
    2. Plateness Triumph 21s for half the daily work and half of the long runs, alternating with
    3. Plated SCElite V3s for the other half of the dailies and long runs (can get them cheap now and we just love them)
    4. Plated SCElite V4s for distance races - half and full marathon
    5. Plated Nike Vaporly 3s for shorter races - e.g. 10Ks in my case (and I have an almost new pair sitting just here)
    Our feet seems to prefer NB's protective comfy foam (I know, everyone is different) just that little bit more. Oh and we are not elite marathoners ... more the 3:30 to 3:45 types ... and ages 53 and 60)
    Thanks as usual, for your detailed, subtle, in-depth and thoughtful reviews. You're the best!

    • @TheRunTesters
      @TheRunTesters  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! Thanks very much for the kind words, I think the rotation would work well, although if sticking to speedier intervals in the Rebel you could do just as well in the v3 too if you still have that! I liked the V3s more than most too, but the V4 will have a bit more oomph for those longer races, and hard to top Vaporfly for shorter stuff. It will be interesting to see if the SC Trainer really comes on strong with a PEBA foam, though probably more excited for the Pacer v2, as I think the new NB PEBA foam could work really well in a lower stack racer

    Excellent review. I don't have wide feet but value toe box room in a plateless shoe. Could replace my Topo Athletic Cyclone 2s, which in turn could replace my fast wearing Saucony Sinisters. I'm sure the Topos will do a sub 20 5k if I can achieve that!

    • @jefreywith1f924
      @jefreywith1f924 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Topo Cyclone 2 is 100% pebax. The NB Rebel 4 is only 20% pebax. The Topo Spector 2 will be coming out in August. That shoe will also be plate less and 100% pebax. With a higher stack hieght than the Cyclone 2 that's probably going to click more boxes when it comes to versatility.

    Got them couple of weeks ago, I must say that I actually bought them mainly for casual use and not running 😅
    I take my dog for relatively long daily walks (2-4 km), and towards the end of the walks the cushioning drops, it is fairly noticeable...
    I also took it for a run, just to see how it is, and for me, it was fun only in fairly easy pace, then the cushioning was holding nicely and cloud like. when I picked up the pace, as the foam was compressed harder, the cushioning dropped significantly, and also it has almost no "pop". Somewhat of a disappointment in this respect. Very different experience than what I heard on reviews...
    Anyway I find it great for very light workloads and casual use, as it is very light, comfortable and cloudy.

    Two of my favourite shoes were the Peg Turbo 2 and the Fuel Cell Rebel v2, typically a mid/forefoot striker, and prefer a slightly lighter 'daily' shoe.

Just look at the Right foot. @4:41 There's a good cm of folded material in the forefoot! I've got a "Nike foot" so looks like I'll pass on the new v4.
