    I wish much fun with the skyshed pod Russel! Because of the construction of the Dome ist a good idear to set the mount not in the center, a little bit to south is perfect, so the view in direction zentih isnt covered to much. I first build a concrete pier in my garden, and after that the Pod was installed. All the best an clear skies Jörg from northern germany....

    Hi Russell,
    The observatory is looking great. Off course, you waited until some of the hottest UK weather ever to install the patio and then the dome. (How much weight did you lose?) I am looking forward to seeing the 'First Light' from the dome.

    So nice to see another person in the U.K. doing such amazing work. I am a complete amateur however. Hopefully this isn’t out of place but I hoped to speak to you in the hope of gaining some advice if at all possible.

      You sat the walls on slabs? Good idea to make a tray of heavy PVC like pond liner coming a few inches up inside of the walls. The dehumidifier now only deals with condensation from air. Lot of expensive kit! Justifies the 370w or 670w to run that dessicant dehumidifier, which also has no auto on feature. Only preset off.

    So jealous mate. One thing - I noticed tall hedges/fence next to the pod. What’s your view of the sky like?

    • @RussellsAstrophotography
      @RussellsAstrophotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Duncan. Yes, the hedge is fairly close, but that's north and Doesn't block too much of the sky. The south sky is pretty clear from that part of the garden. It was the only part of the garden I could put it, so didn't have much choice if I'm honest. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Russell , congrats on the new Pod Dome ! Nice one . I'm sure you'll get tons of suggestions for how to set everything up but if you get a chance have a look for Jason Coon on TH-cam and his March 7th , 2022 Vid called " Astrophotography in my SkyShed Pod ' He does something a little different to the Dome to allow a greater view . It's interesting if nothing else . Cheers !/SRK
