Hi Lizzie - great to hear you're taking A Level PE, and glad the video was of use. Do get in touch if there's ever any topics you can't find on our channel and we can put a lesson together 👍

Good lecture but could’ve given positives and negatives of the systems as it is a very common task to evaluate them

Thanks for the feedback, hope it helped. Yes, a very frequent exam task, and we look at the pros and cons of each system in a separate lesson, while evaluating their use in different sporting contexts.

      ATP-PC system
      Pros:
      -ATP regenerated rapidly
-PC stores replenished within 3 minutes
      -no fatiguing by-products
-ATP-PC system can be extended through the use of creatine supplements
      Cons:
-limited supply of PC in body
-One ATP molecule generated for every one molecule of PC
-regeneration can only take place in the presence of oxygen
      Anaerobic glycolytic system
      Pros:
-ATP can be regenerated quickly due to few chemical reactions
-lactic acid is converted back into glycogen
-useful for producing high bursts of energy
      Cons:
      -lactic acid is a by-product
-only a small amount of energy is released from glycogen whilst under anaerobic conditions (2 ATP)
      Aerobic system
      Pros:
-More ATP produced than anaerobic system
      -no fatiguing by products
-plenty of glycogen and triglyceride stores
      Cons:
-it can take a while for oxygen to become available
-fatty acid transportation to muscle sites is slow
Hope this helps if you were looking for some that were on the same video!

I can understand them but somes applying which is used is hard.we were taught phosphagen system lactic acid system oxygen system.
I wish theyd do studies on effect of neuroleptics on elite athletes and ebergy sysnthesis.was navy seal beat rvery bloke in class till dopamine inhibotors were given me.i could alternate .but dopamin inhibitors (im not psychotic never have bern dont have psychiatric condition)really change it dramatically could go on for hours and its not age thats hoggwash age does not occur over three days or six months.i wany to know how it affects Vo2max.i know it ruins the brain.
