So smooth.....I've been a Patsy fan for 30+ years...and had never heard this duet......it's like melted chocolate!!! If this is what was drifting out of the radio in 1962, it must have been a lovely time to be alive....(I didn't pop onto this earth until 1966)...........xx love ya Patsy.

    The largely un-
    heralded Bobby
    Lord could sing
    circles around
most of the vocalists enshrined in the
    COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME.
    One of the purest
    and most mellifluous voices
    of all time in ANY
    genre of music.
Nothing can be said about the
    immortal Patsy
    Cline which we
    have not already
    seen or heard.
    I don't think this
    duo ever recorded
    one studio or
    album release.
    What a loss!😢

    B&R in Tampa.
I remember Bobby Lord being on TV once a week here.
    Very good singer.
Can't remember her name right now, but there was a blonde lady usually performed with him.
    Wild times then.
There was a wrestler drove a big Caddy convert. w real Texas LONGHORN horns mounted on front of hood. About as wide as car.
BTS. About Bobby. You had to be really good to sing with Patsy Cline.

Evidently Bobby Lord escaped my attention due to his lack of hits and the exposure that accrues. He is yet another example that reinforces my opinion that country music has produced more beautiful voices than any other genre. What a wonderful discovery for one who has followed country music sixty years.

Bobby Lord had a country music show in the afternoons on WSM-TV channel 4 in the mid sixties. I watched it almost every day as a kid. I don't think this was from that show. This was a little over a year before Patsy would be killed in the plane crash.

  • @thecrushedtwinkie6632

Best thing Bobby Lord ever recorded! Poor guy never had a huge hit record, in spite of all of his talent and charisma. His voice had one of the best vibratos of any vocalist I have ever heard. Bobby and Patsy should have been rushed into recording an LP album together, and I DO mean rushed. Three weeks after this
    performance, SHE WAS DEAD!😫
How eerie that she sang the lyric: ..."Through all kinds of weather"... and it was a combination of the aircraft in which she was traveling encountering rough weather, and irresponsible navigation by the pilot, that resulted in the deaths of all on board. "Coming events cast their shadow before."

      How Bobby Lord
      avoided super-
      stardom is beyond
me. Guess he didn't get enough
      of the great songs
      that became huge hits for
      others. He truly
      had a "voice to
      die for!"

By this point, Patsy had slimmed down and glammed up but was singing exactly the same; from that she never wavered.
Should could illuminate any song from the inside with her dynamic voice and heart-drenched expression. Losing her proved a great loss, but her influence over countless singers who followed (notably Tammy Wynette, who herself was a genius) still flourishes.
