Here's Part Two of our first trip to England! This vlog covers Day 2 and 3 of the trip, with a TON of London sightseeing. We definitely got our steps in these days, especially climbing all those flights of stairs in and out of the Underground! Stay tuned for next Friday's episode, when we head to Newcastle! Were there any big London spots we missed that we should have visited? Let me know!
Yay, all the Christmas markets and so many yummy treats! So cool to see so much of London's variety of landscapes from the medieval to the modern, and cultural icons from the British Museum to Abbey Road, and even some Chinatown (which I thought was so nice with all the lanterns)! What a great couple of days! Can't wait to see all the upcoming vlogs!! 🍻❤
That's awesome! We meant to go read the sign to learn more about it, but that area was a little chaotic with it being right next to the Tube and it still being rush hour. I'll have to go back and read more now!
@ Our next stop was Newcastle and our friends who live there told us about Hadrian's Wall but we ran out of time. Putting that on the list for our next visit!
@ Man... this is something we discussed, especially after our time at Tower of London. Growing up in America, we're programmed to think the 1700s is "ancient" because of our own history. So seeing evidence of Roman times or even experiencing Tower of London in person just blew our minds!
@DiscoLiz up until 2012 and the Queens Golden anniversary it was just called the clock tower. It's designed and built in a Gothic revival style in the regin of Queen Victoria. Bloody women.
How wonderful to relive London through your eyes, so glad you enjoyed it 😍 you've made us miss being there. We used to love jumping on the bus at night and heading into China Town for a late night dim sum! Ah, memories. Looking forward to your Newcastle adventures!
Okay, but HOW did you choose which Dim Sum place? It was overwhelming with SO many options. I guess it's like that throughout London though - a million places to see and so much food to eat! We were very happy to have stumbled upon China Town and gotten to see a little piece of it!
Same with me I done 2 days back in the day in London and my feet didn’t touch the ground 🤣 glad you fulfilled a lot of your goals when you went , looking forward to the next vlog 👍
The real England is not one of the little tumble weed, one horse little towns up north like Brum, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, etc it's London. We have got proper transport, shops, sights and so on in London and we're not still wearing shell suits and white trainers like you lot up in t' north.
Nice one, look forward to your next few in England. By the way, the previous London Bridge now in the US, is not the 'original' bridge. There were several previous bridges dating back to Roman times.
You know... I really should have known given the age of everything in London that it couldn't possibly have been the original! Our concept of time is SO skewed coming from America with our country only being only a couple hundred years old. LOL!
Did you go to Abbey Road DLR station before you went to St. John's Wood to see the studio? I've seen the occasional video of tourists going to the wrong station expecting to find the studios near Stratford. There's now a poster at Abbey Road DLR station informing people that they in the wrong place and giving them directions to the right place.
Thankfully we did NOT, but let me tell you - Mike had figured out the directions of how to get there, and I followed his lead. While we were on the train, I kept looking at the map and seeing Abbey Road station, trying to figure out how the heck the train we were on was going to get to that station! I finally asked Mike outloud and he told me that wasn't the station! I could easily see how tourists get confused!
Loving your video but it's not a Cross Walk .it's a Zeɓra Crossing. Why it's Black & White. We Have Pelelican Crossings.? I don't know. Your Guess is as Good as Mine 😮.But I Really hope you enjoyed.
Wow! You just sent me on a google search to learn more. I had no idea there were so many kinds of crossings in England and they all had different names! They're all just called crosswalks or pedestrian crossings in the US, as far as I know. Thank you for commenting - that was fun to learn!

The bit of the London wall you saw is actually Roman. It's pretty cool 😎

@@DiscoLiz There is a much better preserved bit to the north.
Yeah. When you realise that it’s close to 2,000 years old whereas the Tower of London is a mere 1,000 years old it becomes pretty mind blowing.

Big ben is the bell, the actual structure is called the "Elizabeth tower" 😊
Learn something new every day! Excuse my tourist ignorance :)
@@DiscoLizmany of us call it Big Ben also

@ Well, Elizabeth is a pretty great name! I'm okay with calling it Elizabeth Tower ;)
Commissioned by and then named after, two of our greatest rulers! Glad you enjoyed our City.

@@DiscoLiz I have the advantage of a husband from Hong Kong! He always says pick the one with most Chinese people eating there 👍
Fab vlog , all the touristy stuff but at a nice calm pace your personality shines through 👍
Thank you so much for the kind words! We packed SO much into those two days. Zipping all around London thanks to the Underground!

Brilliant.
My friends just recorded and released a one off single with another band at Abbey Road. Fun stuff.
Ha, last video Dr who and theme parks, this time a fellow former museum worker.
Whaaaat? That's amazing! What a cool experience!
Well, clearly we're just kindred spirits!!

You can easily see horse guards this time of year in the summer it’s swamped
Oh man, I believe it! Another reason we tried to visit in a bit of an "off" season. I can't even fathom how busy the city is during summer!
@@DiscoLizit’s hellish although cold it’s a good time to visit , I always recommend May early June Late Sept early Oct
Roman wall, not actually Tudor. But who'd know?
As an American, the depth of history just boggles my mind!

@DiscoLiz We have are Peculiar Ways .But they Work Right here Right Now . And for the Rest of the World 🌎. Not just a spinning Ball .
24 quid for fish and chips! Yiu really need to get out of London and go to a normal place.
The pyramids were to heavy to move otherwise they'd be in London.
