All of you idiots saying hes wrong and that its not racism do not understand Czech mentality and Czech insults. She was using the word African and black in a derogatory way. I grew up here as a foreigner myself and have witnessed and experienced a LOT of these sneaky words and tricks they use. She was mocking him, its clear, if you want to get a closer look on how Czech racism works watch Andres video in one pub/restaurant he visited a few months back, where the owner didnt even look him in the eyes while talking to him. The other people saying things like Usain Bolt and so on werent joking, they were mocking him as well as the last guy who told him to stop filming him, he didnt care about the camera, he didnt like the person behind the camera and was looking for an excuse to insult him, thats why he said in Poland we speak Polish in the end.
And Im saying this as someone who does not even have dark skin, Ive got white skin.

The point is, it does not matter about language or culture, as everyone get's comments at them.
To present it as 'racial profiling' which is an American and very western thing, onto an old pensioner, is disingenuous. Also, the reaction, to sort of humiliate an old lady, is not a good way to go about creating communication with the people you are supposed to visit and apparently promoting.
Also: The lady was not confrontational.
It is understandable to say something back to the lady - but it seemed an extreme response.
I don't know - perhaps try being a Czech visiting some parts of Africa and see how many times people assume you are British or French - and make comments about the 'white man' - and so what ?
The way to deal with this little comments is with intelligent humour and break down some prejudice.
If it was an aggressive racist person making clearly racist comments, it is a different matter. Then it is time to react or rather, call the police.
Maybe some intelligent humour and that lady might have changed some perspective ? Fact is, she was raised in a time when there was an Iron Curtain, so people had no idea about what was happening in the west, let alone Jamaica, of which they could not care less about and has no connection to, like people in Britain do, where Caribbean culture was embraced by many people in Britain.
I feel Andre reacted as if it was a comment as if he was in England. From THAT perspective, perhaps . . . People would not make that comment in England ( unless it was a wind up ).
I think some effort to see it from the old ladies eyes, would help the world - she was not snide and her saying: "Are you from Africa" is a logical comment from someone probably born in the 1940s or 50s.

There are plenty it seems, people of quote unquote "African Origin" ( dare I say ) commenting and saying, it is an over reaction and was not racist.
Fact is, if we say a small comment is 'racial profiling' and react in this way, the world would surely quickly go insane.

So you referred to people as idiots because you have a point to make? You are a low thinker and make up stories to justify what you know did not exist or ever happen. He was just reactive and too sensitive.

@@junctionfilms6348 Why do you call it an American thing? Andre is not even American himself, hes from the UK, I highly doubt he picked up "American behavior" in the UK. While I do agree that Americans tend to overexaggerate racism, this video wasnt the case.
You do not understand, you havent experienced Slavic racism, theres a huge difference between a Slavic person "assuming" youre from Africa and an African person assuming youre British/French. Slavic people say it mockingly, you might not have picked that up from the video, but trust me, if you lived here, you would have understood her intentions. She was mocking him and knew damn well he wasnt African from his accent alone. Then she went on to say all black people come from Africa, when she knew damn well he was British and how was his response extreme? He didnt insult her or shout, he corrected her and laughed about it slightly.
Also just because someone is old is not a reason to let them off the hook, if someone has been a piece of shit his whole life and suddenly grows old thats not my problem and I will treat them like a piece of shit if they have been one their whole life. Again, you dont know Slavic culture, you dont understand their mentality and sneaky insults. They were all mocking him, not joking around, they were being very disrespectful.
If I were him, I would have reacted much more harshly, he was being very patient with them.

I'm an African woman, and I think this guy has no idea what racism is. He's getting all worked up coz they think he's from Africa. But the truth is he does look African. If he went to Kenya or Nigeria or Congo, he would fit right in. And how would you expect a European to tell the difference between a Jamaican and an African? It's the same way that when I meet a European, sometimes I can't tell if they're Norwegian or German, or British or whatever country they're from. Does that make me a racist too? I think Andre has self-hate and is too full of himself. Coz why would you be so offended that a person says you look African. What is sooo bad about looking African? I'm from Poland and really like your videos but this time i feel weird watching this movie (and video title also). There are a lot of misunderstandings.
First womens who told that you are form Africa were Czech (but you think they were Polish because you give them example that not all white are Polish). The strange situation was with last guy who told you about speaking in polish. He tried to explain that he don't want to be recorded. You cut video in one moment and i think there was more what you didn't understand what he was saying. You put the camera right in his face and you annoyed him, so he said you should understand Polish. Of course, he did it in an ugly way, but you're not blameless either, because if you understood, you'd know what you upset him with, and I suspect that he would also react to a white cameraman.
According to you, there was some wave of racism but you started everywhere shouting that there is racism. Those who didn't know what happend to you, they looked at you like crazy man.

The polish people behave or look friendly but their mouth are bringing up absolute racism sentences. Even the moment the guy said "not every black person is from Africa" he gets a "hakuna matata" what is an East African language....maybe he should have compared every Polish person with Germans to show them how their rascial stereotypes are functioning. And by the way I grew up in Germany and the right wings and Nazis are telling exactly the same when a black person is speaking out about racism. They even started to use the expression "don't play the rasicm card" and they ignore the only person who exactly knows HIS WHOLE LIFE WHAT RASICM IS AND WHAT NOT: A BLACK PERSON! So, don't answer as a white privileged person what is rasicm or not!
This men went through this market with so much proud being able to say some polish sentences and he nearly greeted everyone, just watch his record again and look at the disgusting faces of some people who are passing by and this man is smiling to everyone. You don't need to see it like I do, but at least stop blame someone who has been confronted with ugly rasicm. And again noone needs to be a racist to say or behave like one!

Comments like this actually make YOU look rude and arrogant. I believe those people were just trying to joke and connect with a man of color, whom most of them probably never seen in their lives. While their cluelessness and lack of education could probably be mistaken for racism, your condescending behavior cannot be mistaken for anything else. I'm not saying their behavior was OK by any means (it wasn't), but I don't believe they had ill intentions, they just don't know any better. You however should know better, tell them how your comments make you feel and ask them to stop, instead of being patronizing, condescending and making a scene.

When I was travelling in Jamaica I went to Kingston. People on the street were sometimes talking angrily and a few times cursed af me. When I turned on the camera in bus from Ocho Rios to Kingston, many people were shouting angrily to turn it off. On the Kingston city bus, where everyone was black, many people were looking at me like with some kind of anger. Rasism is everywhere and not only black people have to bear it. Pa-ra-no-ja. To chyba podstawowe skojarzenia i całkiem trafne.

I think this is my first comment on your channel, but regard your bad experience on the situations in this video, I felt the need for some explanations for your behaviour, and the behaviour of the people seen in the video. Considering the following may help to improve your travels in the future:
First i insist to point out that Its not racism to assume that someone is african if that person is black, before speaking to him/her directly. Statistically this has the highest chance.
Racism is about making a hierarchy between ethnic groups upon perceived or real cultural, social differences, and the thought of one group is inferior or superior to the others, from which discriminative actions may arise. Eastern europeans(czech, hungarian, slovakian, polish) historically not used to see black people. They had no colonies. Most of the black people staying in these
countries are exchange students from african countries. Rascist can be found in these countries, but luckily they small in numbers and they target gypsies rather than blacks or asians.
I dont speak any polish, but if the subtitles are correct, nobody was racist in this video. The guy in black saying Hakuna matata was rude maybe a little offending, but not racist. The grandpa in red was happy to see you, and said the first thing he could thought about Jamaica. The pot seller man was offended by being filmed without consent. According to polish law generally you can film in public, but if you filming someone directly, the filmed person consent needed. So technically he was right. He was also insecure about you speaking english with him.
Second, you may take into account that most people in Eastern Europe cant speak english. Learning english as a foreign language started only after the fall of Soviet Union. That is why younger generations may speak more fluently. But if you start to speak english to older people, they will probably feel insecure about it, and can easily turn hostile.
Third, shouting !!RACISM!! in general is maybe contraproductive.
So to sum up, just as every traveler you should also be patient and understanding toward the country and the people you visit. As you would expect the same from them. And as a vlogger you should definitely be well informed about the filming laws in the area.
I hope to see your next video soon, greetings from Hungary.

Polish people are generally reserved in public, and doing that is provoking and seeking to find someone annoyed with your filming and loudness who will unfortunately say something very mildly racist. I'm torn by this video. You can't go to some of these small town markets with a video camera. Older people are distrustful of people videotaping them, especially foreigners. It also doesn't help to yell with a video that all these people are racist and at the same time filming them. Dude - how would that go over in a black community? I'm wondering what kind of a reaction you'd get if the same happened in some small Jamaican town, if a white person was filming the action and calling all those people there racist. Don't be surprised by their reactions, even if unfair. Yes, you're black, most people in Europe are from Africa, instead of calmly behaving it makes it seem like you're just waiting for this moment and antagonizing them by your actions. To be honest from your previous videos it seems like you were going to some of these obscure places to get your aha, they're racist moment. Ok you got it. I knew this video would come. Are people racist - yes. This is the case in Poland, Jamaica, UK and elsewhere around the world. Yes. Were you acting like a fool - Yes. Also look in the mirror and think about what you did wrong. Fault lies on both sides.

And please dont come at me with the slavery narrative, im respectful and Eastern Europeans enslaved eachother not black people.
And when it comes to breeding ethnic women, compare 1930 to 2022 pictutes of Paris. Its ethnic cleansing on a generational timeframe. If black people continue doing so, they will ethnically cleanse their own kind too generations down.

Also at the end of the video when the guy was making a point by asking you to ask his permission before filming him, which is normal. You tell him in Polish "I don't have the time" which was also rude. So don't expect people to be polite to you if you are being loud and rude to them and filming them without telling them why. The man was offended when you said "nie ma czas" he had a valid point that you should ask him before filming him and then you get mad at him after he asks you to speak Polish and start talking back to him. In my opinion most of them were very polite while you waved the camera in their face. I have also been to Poland many times over the past 15 years and I get asked where I'm from.
