About Youngsang Cho
Youngsang Cho is Organic Farmer. Cho learned Natural Farming from his father Hankyu Cho(Korea Natural Farming, KNF) who advocated environmental agriculture since the 1960s. Cho family has been organic farming for the third generation. Cho served in 706 special forces and graduated from Aju University (Bachelor, Chemistry) and Chungnam National Uni (Master, Horticulture). hello Mr cho, friend I have made JWA but after aging for 3 days, he tried adding water, but the JWA turned cloudy like milk, he also used soft water, he made JWA the same as written in the book JADAM ORGANIC Farming & Garden
If it has not completely turned into butter after 3 days of aging, this may occur if the first stirring is insufficient or if impurities are added. If you used soft water, you can use that too.

Canola oil in Italy is not easy to find and costs too much so I would use another kind of oil but in your book I red that the quantity of potassium hydroxide change if I would use for example sunflower oil or other seeds oil cheaper than canola in Italy . How can I determine the exact amount of potassium hydroxide ?
Most of them are fine even if you use the same amount.

Sodium hydroxide is a safe grade chemical permitted by USDA's organic regulations.

Is it okay to use coconut oil and NaOH instead of canola oil and KOH
(Since It is hard to find KOH in our country and a special license is needed to purchase KOH, However NaOH is readily available)

hi! thank you so much for the recipe! i've tried making small batch with canola oil and it turned out great! 😁 Then i tried to make it with coconut oil, but it turned out cloudy, like white layer on top but clear liquid at the bottom, i've rested the liquid for 24 hour. in one of your comments, you suggested to reduce the KOH by 15% if using coconut oil, so i want to know why we should reduce the amount of KOH? and is it possibly the reason mine turned out cloudy?
It gets too hot and it swells up. So reduce it.
Mr. Cho said to test water using JWA but what if this is my first-time making JWA, so what other method for me to test if my rain water is soft enough? Thank you.
You can test with eco-friendly detergents made from natural oils,
98% to 99% caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) is easily accessible in my country than caustic potash. What quantity will you suggest for a 100litres of JWA.
I suggest the same amount. Making JWA from sodium hydroxide takes a lot of time to dissolve in water.

we use landscape fabric mulching with that. we have tested weeding with our solution. it works but it also affected most of crops. so decided not to share the info
Have you tested JWA and JHS on animal pests like Lice and mites? What is the concentration used for those application?

Both become soap. Sodium hydroxide is used to make solid soap.

We use what is allowed for food processing. I don't think it's impossible for industrial use either.
in your experince is H-JWA sufficient for all pesticide? how long would I cook Oleander in canola oil? If sprayed on produce is there a withhold period of eating produce because of poisonous plant? have you found ginko balboa in your travels to Hawaii? If possible I'd purchase seed from you. JADAM natural pesticides can completely replace chemical pesticides. You can wash it after harvesting and eat it right away.

could using less/too little water initially when mixing KOH also make the end product more solid than butter? mine came out more solid like a bar of soap and i used KOH
Strong agitation can make it harder than butter. No wonder. This is normal.
@@JADAMORGANIC Greetings again from NM USA - I have attempted to make your JHS for use with JWA according to the book. I have boiled oleander leaf with water for a few hours at a very high heat. This solution was then placed into a clean glass jug. This oleander solution has fermented quite rapidly and is very much like LABs.. is this to be expected?
My batch came out thick and clumpy, but I added water and blended until the consistency similar to the one shown in the video, will this still work? Thanks
Yes. I think so.
Is there any need for pesticides if the plant has its required nutrition and hydration? I experienced it, the insects come if the plant loses its water and become fibered which happens by lack of nutrients. When I support the soil with great homemade composts like from kitchen and garden waste, fermented compost, worm cast, wood-chip with leaves, etc. solve the problems. All of these also easy enough to make at home.

Commercial agriculture without the use of pesticides is very difficult because crops try to attract pests by making their fruits attractive.
Because the tree is making higher brix fruit which pests don't like. The lower the brix, the more issues you will have with any plant. The higher the brix, the less problems you will have because the plant is running optimally. The higher the brix, the higher the nutrient content, and the higher the shelf life.
Instead of making JWA, can I use dishwasher liquid soap instead? Cheaper for home garden.

I made the JWA following the same ingredients taught but is not as clear as the one shown in video, why?
It is made to perfection when the water must be softened.
I'm having trouble finding a safe container that is around 5 gallons, in order to make the JS and JWA. I read it can't have aluminum and almost everything I find has aluminum or is hundreds of dollars. If anyone found a good container at that scale, in the USA, link it for me please.

Any type of vegetable oil(& refined oils) is possible.
Even animal oils are possible.
I did make JWA in my finished product I can still find small amount of oil not completely mix. Is it ok, or I did it wrong?
The oil I used is neem oil. My ingredient are, initial water 1.5 litters, potassium hydroxide 1.7 kilos. The oil I used to make neem oil is coconut oil, it's 10.8 litters. After 3 days I add 12 litter of water mixed and additional 36 litter.
When stirring with a stick, make sure to stir well to the corner of the bottom of the container.

Sodium hydroxide is used to make solid soap. It is possible to make JWA with this, but the process of dissolving solid soap into small pieces is difficult.

I live in Hawaii and have not been able to find these variety with lid, other alternative is expensive I've found 1 screw top for 133.33$ US. do you know cheaper? Aswell a suggested sprayer? @JADAMORGANIC this translation says it only works early in morning 430 am. That's not totally true his ingredients worked amazing for my hime garden as long as I water before 11am. Why did he say give up farming if you don't apply at 430 am lol

It's a serious base, and dangerous in raw form, but it's natural so surely organic.

Since caustic is used in JWA, I don't think there is any need to use it.

Hi sir, why is my jwa become hard like rock after 3 days of fermentation.
Jwa become jelly like after putting in 80 litre water and slow stir for 3 days

Palm kernel oil is an edible plant oil derived from the kernel of the oil palm Elaeis guineensis. It should not be confused with the other two edible oils derived from palm fruits: palm oil, extracted from the pulp of the oil palm fruit, and coconut oil, extracted from the kernel of the coconut
What quantity of JS can i use in 1 litter of water or 15 liter of water that is one Knapsack sprayer and what quantity of JWS too in thesame quantity of water too
While making jwa for 5L, I've added 120ml initial water after adding koh then 900ml oil. After drilling that by mistake I added remaining 4L water immediately and drilled it.
Will it still works!!

@@JH-bh5lm I hope this is a clear answer for you. . JS or JHS alone cannot be used as pesticide without JWA. if you are talking about mixing solution sequence, the order doesn't matter but adding one by one can prevent the solutions to be entangle each other.

Hi! I just recently made JWA and I did the water test and it does work. My only concern is that mine isn't clear or see through like the one in the video. It's a cloudy but it still works as a soap. Is this okay or did I make a mistake in my process like over blending or I didn't stir occasionally? Thanks for the answer :)
If the water used to make the JWA is not soft water, it may not be clear. In the case of such a JWA, the electrodeposition effect is slightly inferior. Considering this, the usage can be increased a little.

Sir, i made jwa using coconut oil. I followed all instructions and used soft water. I measured exactly the weight of all ingredients. But i didn't achieved the clear color.
Can i still use this solution or make another? It stayed white. Is it because of too much drilling?

Ah~ I see.
First, add some of the finished JWA to soft water and stir. Does the color of the water become more muddy? If not, you can use it.
It does not clear up like what you made. It is still blurry white, but i makes lots of bubbles. I tested it also to regular water, it does not make any bubbles
If the general water is hard water, it does not bubble. The water used as a pesticide must be soft water.
