This is what I keep telling my 87 year old sister. She loves answering and talking to scammer on the phone. We have caller ID and she still picks up the phone. Just the other day, she gave out information. It's a scary situation. I feel for the lady in the video and all the elderly. They are use to a different world. Very sad, but it's stunning to me that someone this, seemingly intelligent and "with it", didn't see the fraud all over this from the first few seconds of the phone call. I'm almost 67 myself and for the past forty years I've heard countless times that social security, your bank, whatever, will NEVER ask you for personal or sensitive information over the phone. Wow. Actually the Social Security will call you but only after you filed for retirement benefits, they will call you if they have any questions on your application.
I'm going to be honest with you, even if they have a question I have never been called by SS. During retirement benefit issues, death, or disability claims. I have always received a letter! And in all of the booklets and pamphlets they write You will never receive a call from a SS Representative. So if that has happened to you or someone you know, the next time you should get that person's name and report them! This is for your own safety! Because putting information out there like you just wrote can cause more harm than good! ijs

Different companies sells people's private phone numbers! For instance if she has her newspaper delivered or if you participate in a survey over the phone. There are many ways they can obtain your private phone numbers, but many times people who participate in those kinds of things don't read the small print, even on TV ads! I'm a senior and people have tried me, but thankfully I am aware of such things. Like some are saying just don't pick up your phone if the number isn't recognizable! With all this technology I still have my own outdated answering machine! 😅 That's what they get when they dial my number! 2024 soon to be 2025, I'm still screening my calls! 🤣😂🤣

THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT CALL YOU! SO DONT TALK TO STRANGERS AND READ READ READ....AND WHO THE F SEND PICS OF THEIR WORK ID?????????????? COME ON NOW!!!! WHAT KIND OF BIZ SHE OWN???
This is why it's important not to talk to unknown callers. I believe somehow, with some strange method, the caller gets control of the person's mindset, thereby directing them to do things they normally wouldn't do. Please...just don't answer the call.
I really hate when they say i am really educated. I quite school at 15, and would never give my money to any one. I got many calls a out my social insurance no. And i know that is a number you only use for unemployment. She had doubts yet did not call her son.

People are losing sympathy for anyone believing these scammers. There is so much public info that warns people, especially older people of these scams.
So many red flags 🚩
it is scary when you get old; when you can't really think things logically as you used to.

It is hard to believe that she didn't catch on that she was being scammed at some point during the entire "process".
Smh 🤦🏽♀️
Did she know that social security will never call you.
she should have called social security.
I called ss
Banks should stop and investigate large money transfers immediately and verify with the family member who is also signed up on the account
Thats called eeasy money 2:15 💸 💸 💸
Actually the Social Security will call you but only after you filed for retirement benefits, they will call you if they have any questions on your application.
I'm going to be honest with you, even if they have a question I have never been called by SS. During retirement benefit issues, death, or disability claims. I have always received a letter! And in all of the booklets and pamphlets they write You will never receive a call from a SS Representative. So if that has happened to you or someone you know, the next time you should get that person's name and report them! This is for your own safety! Because putting information out there like you just wrote can cause more harm than good! ijs
@@chelebear1823 this I got from SS.gov May 8, 2024 “Social Security employees do contact the public by telephone for business purposes. If there is a problem with your Social Security number or record, we will typically mail you a letter. Generally, we will call you if you: Have recently applied for a Social Security benefit.”

mysocialsecurity page
Ugh she just followed orders too fast, i wished she could've gone in person to the SSA and show them the call and texts she was receiving 😢
Targeting the elderly. How the hell do they know they are older?
How did he get her phone number? private number .
ITS SAD THAT AS MATURE AS SHE IS, SHE SPOKE TO STRANGER. SHE DIDNT READ DOCUMENT CAUSE AS BIZ OWNER SHE SHOULD HAVE SEEN SPELLING ERRORS AND THE GOVT DOES NOT CALL YOU. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT CALL YOU! SO DONT TALK TO STRANGERS AND READ READ READ....AND WHO THE F SEND PICS OF THEIR WORK ID?????????????? COME ON NOW!!!! WHAT KIND OF BIZ SHE OWN???
Poor lady
This is why it's important not to talk to unknown callers. I believe somehow, with some strange method, the caller gets control of the person's mindset, thereby directing them to do things they normally wouldn't do. Please...just don't answer the call.
She got her money back she needs a power of attorney over her where is her relatives do she have any adults children
I really hate when they say i am really educated. I quite school at 15, and would never give my money to any one. I got many calls a out my social insurance no. And i know that is a number you only use for unemployment.
She had doubts yet did not call her son.
The scammers are working 24 hours, 7 days a week! Just hang up the phone!! Better yet; I don't answer unknown, private, or scam calls! Be safe, everyone! I hope they catch the thiefs!😢
