A fun little cultural exchange: I am Korean, but adopted. I never had a Korean name and chose my own, Jihyeon. It's funny to me this is such a basic name in Korea, bc I find it so beautiful. J names are often gender ambiguous in the US (Jamie, Jesse, Jordan, Jackie) and are perceived as cool. Korean J names seem SO Korean to me, so I wanted one. I thought Ji was a very pretty and feminine prefix, and Hyeon is a kind of masculine suffix. To me, an American, Jihyeon is a cool name for a girl - feminine and masculine, very Korean, and even slightly gender ambiguous. It also helps that I was born in the early 90s, and this name was very fashionable back then.

I choose my name as Kang Ja rim (강 자림) I really liked Seulgi's (Red velvet) last name and idk why :p (I also heard that in so many kdramas) and in love revolution the female lead's name was Wang Ja rim and I really liked her character so I decided to take Jarim as my korean name lol (also Kang Jarim sounds similar to Wang Jarim)

So my first name in my native language is Lilly and, using some random website, I discovered the word 나리, meaning lily. I then decided that it would be a good given name. 7:36 OK so I'm from Greece and my name is Anthí (Ανθή) in korean it would be written something like that: "안티". The meaning of is literally a flower that blooms/opens and it comes from the word ánthos (άνθος)=(blossom) and it's also a verb. Like when we want to say: Look that flower is *blooming*= Koita auto to louloudi *anthizei* (Κοίτα αυτό το λουλούδι ανθίζει)

You can use 희(hwe) which means lady and this word actually sounds pretty in korean. Mostly girls use this but in order to make it sound like a korean name, you will need to add one more word! So it could be something like XX희 or X희X and the first one, as you know it would be your family name if you tell me your family name I could change it to Korean family name but this is not that nessesary. I recommend 희나(hwe na)(beautifull lady), 아희(ah hwe)beautifull lady or elegant lady or bright lady)!

@@z0mb1e42 well 달(dal) means moon but to make it into a Korean family name, there is 단(dan) which is a very rare family name so a lot of Korean might have no idea that it exsists and it sounds quite similar to 달 so to name it related to moon or you could do 원(won) which is similar to 월(wal) which means moon in Chinese character and it is quite rare but not as rare as 단 and it sounds more like a family name personally!
For the name, you could do 비(be) which means creasent moon so this is just a name with one letter but quite cute. 비 also means rain in Korean. My birthname was 비 too! Or you could do 만월(mwan-wal) which is famous for hotel deluna's main character's name in Korea and it means a full moon in Chinese character. Hope this would help you!
