Great performances by Etta James, Linda Ronstadt and Julian Lennon amongst other greats. A must have DVD for all lovers of music.
Oh wow, then he died 30 years later after this at 90 years old
Saw that documentary, it was awesome
D'excellents musiciens réunis pour faire la musique qu'on aime, un grand merci !
Chuck always seemed so fun to be around, the ultimate showman
Uh the guy terrorized people that he played with. He was a perfectionist and one of the masters but fun to play with? Uh no.
Was at Chucks house. Met everyone! So cool!
Classic. Chuck Berry was a trip, wasn't he? Great band - everyone looked like they were having fun. Enjoyed the video. Thank you for sharing.
In the original video Keith and Chuck argue and it gets a bit heated ! Go Keith go 💗
I remember seeing this many years ago. Looking back it’s like, “did this really happen”!? Almost unreal, and I still remember the excited when my buddy told me he had the VHS of Berry getting all over the other guitar greats. Lol.
He's actually conducting them! This is awesome!
Johnnie Johnson for the win! Killin' it. Honorable mention goes to Clapton's first solo.
It(Clapton's solo) sounds like Chuck is singing
Clapton shouldn't have even been there. He seemed miserable the entire time.
They are having fun, aren't they ? Sooo good to see !!!!
That is some serious rock-and-roll royalty there!
What a band!!! I think they are so talented that even each one could form a band apart...
you're kidding me, right?
@@josephdunn5131 I think that comment was tongue in cheek. Unless it was a very young person not familiar with music from the past. Those of us who were teenagers and young in the sixties are the lucky ones.
What a recording... Absolutely fantastic.
Sheer magic… I love these guys!

Keith put this filming together. Thank him!
A pity you don't see Johnnie Johnson more, only a few seconds. His playing adds a lot and Chuck Berry owes him so much.!
It's Johnson you hear playing piano all of of those early Chuck Berry hits from the 50s and 60s.

Each has there own sound and style, who are we to make judgement, theres, 2 of the best rock bands that earth has ever listened too, and as they each play, you can hear those bands in the background, fantastic
R.I.P. Chuck.You made it all happen.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cool. This band would sound great at a dance. 5 bucks at the door. Chuck Berry, another one of my guitar heroes besides Eric & Keith. Johnnie Johnson on the piano. Steve Jordan on the drums. What a band.
Keith is something else ... he didn´t need to be technically skilled because you always know when he's there ;)
My idol Keeeef plays with his heart, guts, brains!!!
so much legend in that room!!! such incredible talent!!!
I Also had the pleasure of seeing these guys play keef the most all great

Understand you I do not
This is 37 years ago and worryingly, when I think of all these players today, this is how I think of them. I’ve got old.
This is great.... you have the father of Rock and Roll Chuck Berry....not to mention Eric Clapton " god" ....and the legendary Keith Richards....and this is a great jam session that just sounds too good to end. And I think they could easily have played this for 20 minutes and no one would become tired of it. Great session.
Chuck extract The best Of Keith...
When I die, I wanna be there and know I've reached rock'n roll heaven
I Love Chuck berry , Eric ,& the Master Keith Richard's
Chuck Berry is holding himself back to let everyone else feature their talent but he’s still a KING on the guitar, Keith has SO much
Talent and versatility but isn’t used to taking the spotlight; You’ll notice that Keith Richards often plays both hands on the fretboard like Hendrix did a lot. Chris is a Master and plays like a Professional always
Left handers?
@@gailplacko3197 Gail, you make a good point. I’ve always heard Left handers play differently and also are more creative as they access “right brain” activity more frequently and easily. True? Love and Peace from LindeeSixtiesRock
The wildest ride Keef was on was trying to corral Chuck at 60! Dang you Robbie R! You wrote it!
Doesn't get any better than this thank you for sharing
es ist cool zu sehen, welchen Spaß die drei zusammen hatten. Einfach göttlich 😍😍👍👍 RIP Chuck
Eric Clapton has been sober for so long you can clearly tell in this clip that he's faded and not exactly "present" (and still playing better than 99% of the guitarists on the planet). Big ups to the old man for sticking around.
Man, them drums just a rumbling and bumbling. Damn fine jam now the song is toast.
Good thing I was not the cameraman for this event...I would probably have kept fainting in the presence of such legends and not have any video footage!!
Me too! Lol!
Absolutely, if not fainting totally mesmerized!!! In either case, it would be, camera? What camera?
Wow! This is real blues and rock 😘love it!! ❤️
I like that Keith was adamant that the original piano player, Jimmy Johnson, was invited to play in the jam session along with Eric Clapton.....It's hard to imagine that Chuck was born in the same year as my 94 year old mom, who was in her 80s when this was recorded.
That's JOHNNY Johnson, and he was the piano player on ALL of Chuck Berry's big recordings back in the day. He continued to play with Chuck off and on until he passed away in 2005.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Johnson_(musician)
JOHNNIE JOHNSON!! NOT JIMMY!! I don't know why he's not in title too, he should be but this is great stuff.
Boys are bringing it home for Mister Chuck Berry
Oh my GOD! This ... drummer is so brilliant xD
His name is Steve Jordan
@@AP-ui7oi Who was also the drummer in "The Blues Brothers".
How nerve wracking would it be being on stage with Chuck Berry, I don't care who you are! The Father Grandfather Stepfather, Uncle, and older Brother of Rock n Roll!
Johnson is a beast. That piano is on another level.
Johnson had as much to do with Chuck's 1950s success as Chuck did. Johnnie never really got the credit he deserved. Most of Chuck's early hits were Chuck's lyrics and country guitar licks over instrumental arrangements Johnnie had been playing for years.
Good drummer chuck like your style mate😁✌️🌻💓✌️
