    Just installed mine yesterday works like a champ, definitely hot in the high setting which is fine here in the Pacific Northwest

    I'm going to do this next week except I'm going to have mine connected to the ignition so I don't have to worry about leaving it on in the winter while I go to work. I don't want to come back to a dead battery.

    Can the heater sit on a seat gel insert, and can you cover it with 1/4 inch finishing foam to make the install look better?

      Good question, that's what I'm looking to find out!

    Looks great, but would like to see pad fitted afterwards, does it show on the through on seat base,I suspect it does, or you would have shown it afterwards

    • @checker3694
      @checker3694 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does, he tries not to show it, that's why I tuned in, it's got to be invisible once cover goes back on, otherwise its a half ass job

    Do you sell any smaller ones? I'm guessing i can't just cut or two fold it? Want to install one on my old slingshot, but the saddle is way shorter than 40cm. Great video by the way :)

      The ATV/Motorcycle seat heater is the smallest one we carry but you are able to fold it if needed for your installation.
      Hope that helps!

      I did see a guy cut one to fit his but it might have been a different video. I’ll see if I can find the video but I would just fold it like RMAM said above.

    I have a Kawasaki Police 1000. The stator in that thing produces ~20 amps at idle. I think I'll be good.

    The switch has high and low but does it have an “off” setting?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the middle position is the off setting.

    Rocky Mountain ATV MC , where is the resistor in the harness on this setup? I am gonna eliminate the relay as I am gonna wire it into a fz-1 fuzeblock with a relay already in it.

    Can you addd this to a bike without a battery

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, you would need to have some sort of battery source.

    • @shep236

      I don't see why you couldn't cut the red wire and wire it to a power source while the bike is running, the relay supplies the power not the battery. Having it wired to the battery means its hot at all times so you have to make sure your seat is off or you'll drain your battery down. Not the best design at all

    • @2wheels1guy25
      @2wheels1guy25 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rmatvmc why, you can just wire it up to the alternator and the chassis right? 20watts is almost nothing. Maybe add a time delayed relais (10sec) to prevent kicking it till your boot is penetrated by the kickstarter.

    Tell me more about the relay...and does it need any fuse

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The relay is just for the two heat setting and no fuse is required but would never hurt to install one.
      Thanks for watching!

    I like the idea of going through the seat for a cleaner look, but drilling a hole through the foam to accommodate the electrical connector just doesn't seem to sit well. Would it be better to cut the connector off, push a hot wire through the set cushion for a much smaller hole, fill the hole with silicone; also apply to the wire harness, run the wire through the small cushion hole while the silicone is still wet and then re-pin the connector on the bottom of the seat. This is just to avoided compromising the seat cushion because the seat cushion can be real touchy, sometimes they last sometimes they dry-rot once dry-rot sets in its all down hill from there. "Just sayin' "
