- OK, here is the story behind this video, and for all videos being uploaded.
I accidentally deleted my account (this account) while trying to link a google account about a couple months ago i think. I managed to reactivate it recently with much happiness and joy. Sorry to those who loved listening to this video and my many others that are now lost, but i am trying to reupload my more popular videos.
Here are mp3s of all the videos i did.

Jesse Lacey plays an acoustic version of Limousine for the first time ever. True story. - เพลง
we'll never have to buy adjacent plots of earth
we'll never have to rot together underneath dirt
i'll never have to lose my baby in the crowd
i should be laughing right now

@Jagger Immanuel Happy to help :D
Still come back to this a couple times each year. Still so powerful.
When he says "one will love you so much" and counts up to 7, and then just stays on 7 a couple more times, my heart breaks...
th-cam.com/video/Icyun1RaTmM/w-d-xo.html
he stays on seven because that's how many years she got to live until the horrific accident
He played this on a whim, he wasn't even sure if he knew it, but said he always wanted to try it solo. If you're curious, the performance was from Live on FNX
.
This version is so much more deeper then the other...gets me thinking at times
I think I actually like this better than the original. This version is just so raw and it captures Jesses emotion better.
My god I love this band so much I can't take it sometimes. Just amazing. Never get enough credit.
Rest in peace Katie... You would have been 17 years old by now...
She would have been 16. It happened on July 2, 2005 and your comment was in 2014. Either way, I hope she is resting peacefully.
XTheDesertSongX My bad.
this is disgusting from both of you
theyre arguing over such as stupid detail. a girl was killed here. my best friend was killed.
Their not arguing though?
That video with the dad saying "That SMASH, was my life. You just saw my entire existence defined" gives me the chills every time. I can see his face without closing my eyes. It's burned into my memory forever. This song is powerful. Fuck drunk drivers. I never drive drunk and I never will, ever. Don't let your friends do it either. Even if you're around the block, or taking back roads. Cops use back roads..
JFrattiniCox1177 I'm a cop and I hate drink drivers. If you drink drive I will do everything in my power to catch you and stop you from ever driving again.
Also innocent families take back roads too. Any one who kills a child or anyone because of drunk driving deserves never ending depression and sadness
I love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love this!
Brand new is one of the best bands I'll ever know. They're so genuine and every song has a beautiful meaning. This is one of my favorite songs by them and I can feel the love he has for Katie ea
It just feels so raw and you can hear the emotion. This is perfect!
This guilt that will crush me
One word. Beautiful~
Such a well written song. Hauntingly beautiful story telling by Brand New.
this song means everything to me
Does it still?
@@ktbrotherhood1964 good question
@@ktbrotherhood1964 yes
I had no idea who Katie Flynn was, I thought it was a girlfriend who left him but I looked up the story and now I am in tears.
Holy shit. One of the most awful things I've ever read.
K, it's your ride.
Get your petals out and lay them in the aisle
Pretend your garden grows and it's your day to wed.
We found your man, he's drinking up, he's all-American.
And he'll drive.
He's volunteered with grace to end your life,
We'll tidy up,
It's sad to hope, but leave your shell to us,
You explode,
You firefly, you tiny boat with oars,
Feather oars. The world tilts back and poison pours.
And so, you satellite.
You tidal wave, you big surprise.
And I one more night to be your mother.
This signal interrupts,
Baby's frequency's not strong enough.
Remade my hands and smile.
We will miss you but in time you'll get set up,
We will write!
A beauty supreme, yeah you were right about me,
But can I get myself out from underneath this guilt that will crush me,
And in the choir I saw a sad messiah,
He was bored and tired of my laments,
Said, "I died for you one time but never again."
(never again)
[2x]
Well I love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
One'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
Two'll love you so much, but do me a favor baby, don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
Three'll love you so much, but do me a favor, baby don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
Four'll love you so much, but do me a favor, baby don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
Five'll will love you so much, but do me a favor, baby don't reply,
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
Six'll love you so much, but do me a favor, baby don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
Seven loves you so much, but do me a favor, baby don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
(never again)
I said loved you so much, but do me a favor, baby don't reply.
Because I can dish it out, but I can't take it.
[In background:]
We'll never have to buy adjacent plots of earth
We'll never have to rot together underneath dirt
I'll never have to lose my baby in the crowd
I should be laughing right now
[2x]
Laura Bradley he says Kate though, not K
Anthony Vargas it's actually K
No its Kate, it's the mother's name.
Esprit925 well in an interview Jesse says the little girls name is Kaitlyn and in the lyric book he wrote K so I'm not sure where you're getting that info
jacob snow I do apologise I got it wrong, I read it from a other TH-cam post so I looked it up correctly and this is what I found edition.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/personal/05/29/o.lifesaving.lesson/index.html
This recording is part of the interview about this song and others and other things.
this accident happened close to where i grew up. used to take the meadowbrook pkwy, where the accident happened, to the beach. messes me up every time i hear this song. i remember my mom clinging to me after watching the news.
This is so beautiful. I love the sad messiah part. So amazing.
This version makes me cry, his voice.
Man this is one sad messed up song, look up the meaning behind this, it is amazingly sad.
Yea u were rite about me
omg yes
@gildedkiwi its live, he does a few parts slightly diff from the album version (pretty sure this is from right around when the album was released anyways) but i still think he hits everything perfectly enough to where it sounds absolutely amazing. also listen to his interview about the meaning of this song, story almost brought me to tears.
Yeah, she was 7. Probably the reason he counts from 1 to 7 with the "One'll love you, but do me a favor baby don't reply" there's a handful of interviews he does about it
I've always loved this song. The accident in Cobleskill, NY really made this song crazy to me though. Not that it has anything to do with it..I live 20 miles down the road..
this is perfection.
i like the key of his voice better on the album version but this is still heartbreakingly beautiful. if you know the story behind it and this doesn't move you to extreme sorrow and sadness something is wrong. one of the most emotionally moving songs ever written..
4:28 the rasp when he says "reply" almost jizzed in my pants
lmfao
fckn same
RIP
This is beyond perfect.
the world tilts back and pours and pours
This is just incredible.
@relic989 just like this song has brought me near tears a few times.
this song. this album. this band.
This song man... every time.
This is about something that happened like a town over from me (brand new is from my town, and event to my high school). There was a family in a limo on their way to a wedding and a man got in his car, drunk, and decided that after a fight with his girlfriend, he was going to kill someone or himself, and he drove down the wrong side of the road and crashed into the limo. The mother and father survived but the little girl ( I think she was about 9) was decapitated.
Damn. That's some sick story
this song makes me cry so much
thank you for posting this
beautiful
My heart...
Words cannot describe how much I love this
If you listen to this song after hearing Jesse explain the story, it becomes that much more powerful. I've always loved it, but this is unbelievable. Thank you for posting!
this is so tragic.
Wish I could hear the story behind every song. This is brilliant
This song kinda scares me now .. .-. It's so beautiful it's amazing
this is so perfect.
Dammit! I wanted to hear Jesse do the solo acoustic! That's what the whole song is about! The build up to the fucking epic ending!
I like to think the lyrics are a lot more important than the guitar solo. I don't even remember the guitar solo you are referring to, but I will never forget the lyrics.
Wow. You're COMPLETELY missing the point of the song. The lyrics detail a story and the ending guitar solo after the lyrics is the big emotional payoff! The bands friend Mike (forgot his last name) added explosions into the song there at the end. That ending is supposed to be an instrumental representation of the crash that killed Katie Flynn and inspired this song in the first place.
If that is true what you say about the explosion involving the guitar solo, did you really expect that from an acoustic performance? haha
No, I didn't expect the explosions in an acoustic performance, but what I was trying to say is that that solo at the end is still part of the song and has just as much significance as the rest, even without the explosions.
But I did expect Jesse to rip out an awesome solo.
I don't really care anymore. You want the guitar solo go listen to the studio version, last time I checked it's still there.
Click on the uploaders name, and jesse laceys explanation of the song is literally the video before this one

My life is so far beyond complete now that I've found this.
do you know where/when this was recorded?
Its not about cops might be around the back roads.. Its the poor little kid, or just unsuspecting person crossing he back road that its about.. Simple as that, don't drink and drive.. Its not your own life that you're putting at risk. If it was just your life and no one else's then go for it, but anytime you drink and drive its more than that..
In the choir
I saw our sad Messiah
He was bored and tired of my laments
Said "I died for you one time,
but never again."
Never again.
Never again.
Never again.
Never again.
Never again.
Never again.
Never again.
Never again.
Well I love you so much.
(Never again.)
But do me a favor, baby,
Don't reply.
(Never again.)
This is a masterpiece.
Whoa. Just whoa. I had to sit down....
his voice is so wonderful and hes so talented wow
2:05, Goosebumps!!
#rare
Is it
your garden grows
you're a garden girl
you're god and grow
It's you're god and grow.
Pretend you're god and grow
Jillian Thornton Pretend your garden grows. Its about a flower girl that was killed in a Limo by a drunk driver on her way back from her Aunt's wedding.
Philip Modelle the whole album is about her
Brendan Toner Pretty sure it isn't
Oh my gosh, his voice is so perfect.
Hey this is me at the talent show…..
this song makes me emo in the best way possible im sobbing
No... Just No.
2:05 made me cry
you're right, they talked about it in an interview. i believe
So sad !!!!!
Not rare anymore
why did the make a song about this incident? I mean so many people including children die in accidents. Have they a special connection?
I believe it happened in his home town, just a few miles from where he lives.
What Larry said, this happened very close to where Brand New live, and it wasn't just an accident, a drunk driver hit them on the wrong side of the parkway, they probably also wanted to raise awareness.
I believe I read somewhere Jesse was really hit hard by the event because it was near where he lived, and because he knows he had friends who drive drunk and it made him feel worse about the whole situation. (Also mentioned in the first line of the album on Sowing Season, "I'm losing all my friends. Losing them to drink and to driving.")
Woa. I'm sorry for the loss of your cousin and have no right to commentate on how you would feel about this song rather than those of us with no direct connection to the tragedy but I honestly don't think anything exploitative in this song. It wasn't released as a promotional single and clearly has no radio play potential. I think this is a very valuable work that brings the tragic and cautionary story to the ears of millions of people every single year. Personally this song, and album, contributes greatly to my resolve to never allow myself or someone else to get behind the wheel of a car inebriated because of how it personalizes the story. I do not ever want to contribute, directly or indirectly, to another's death because of drunk driving. I imagine lots of others feel the same way.
it was actually written to make the devastating effects of drunk driving more clear in society and why drunk driving is something horrible. the accident occurred in long island, where jesse's from, so the accident kind of hit home for him so he wrote this song about the accident to commemorate the death of katie.
