In about 84' I used to work in a slaughter house in Vernon CA. I happened to meet Mel Sanchez, he used to pick up sides of beef for a meat broker, his dad i think. In any case he handed me a demo tape of a new band he was forming with Juan Garcia of Agent Steel, it was going to be called Evil Dead. That's where the idea for the meat hook on the cover came from.
I used to hear these guys back when i was 15, because they sounded sick fast and great, but I do still hear this album very often, it brings me back good school days memories
I believe it was through a Kerrang! article that I learned about Abattoir. The article was called "Speed Kills" and describes the band's style as a sped-up Iron Maiden. I bought the LP back in '85 and gotten the CD 10-15 years ago. I was 18+ then and still enjoy it at 55+ today. I put the title track, Vicious Attack in a mixtape in '85.
A million thanks for the full album upload. I've totally forgotten about this band. The 80's have been gone a long time now, so many bands I can still remember yet so many are forgotten. I love the intensity in this album. It compares with Savage Grace's "Master of Disguise." In this old age I am having a kick hrtr in TH-cam. Just yesterday I discovered that I have Winters Bane in my CD collection. Wh knows what else I have.
Fortunately we have the oldies, I can listen to this album all day long. Other than the awesome tunes the sound is killer, the harmonics and row mid-range is still there. Contemporary metal cannot reach this level because it has forgotten the roots. The lifestyle & attitude doesn't match anymore. Bring your old JCMs, Plexis and Jacksons / Charvels / Kramers / Rich'es back along with your inspired riffs !
I don't even know what that stuff is, man. I'm so far removed from the metal scene that once was before my day. today's quest for music is so over saturated by the internet that showing a friend a good tune is about as impactful as showing them a goofy internet video. edit: I searched the google to learn that charvels & whatnot are different types of strings. did you know that over one billion people search on Google each day? it's the definition of globalization
00:00 - Screams From The Grave 03:18 - Vicious Attack 06:05 - The Enemy 09:12 - Ace of Spades 12:10 - The Living and the Dead 15:49 - Stronger Than Evil 19:02 - Don't Walk Alone 22:01 - Game of Death
Indeed from the days i went to the record store and took the albums with the most awesome cover art then you knew you couldn't go wrong with metal musick!
My favorite speed metal albums I listened to when I was a teen in the 80s was this album and Savage Grace's Master of Disguise. Just great speed metal songs.

I lived in communist Hungary at that time as a 15 y old. In our city we had a pirate record store, operating from a basement. He got his stock from west Germany. One could bring a blank tape, a couple of hours worth of wages, and he'd copy an album for us. I had copies of all these obscure bands. We were working on our russian made mopeds, end this music was blaring out of my mono tape deck! Grate memories
Thrash metal is always good when you can hear the bass, guitars sound like buzzsaws, vox a lot of high pitched screamin, and drums are like machine guns
This is my cousin Mel Sanchez III, and i had this album, but i have no idea what happen too it, and it had all there autograghs on this album...I wish he can conntact me..If anyone sees him let him know his second cousin is looking for him..My sister is Apolonia ( Polly )..:)
I saw this band open for Slayer in 1985 at the Country Club in Reseda. Prior to that Jim Ladd used to play them frequently on his Metal Shop program on KMET (R.I.P.) They were way better with their original singer, John Cyriis, who later formed Agent Steel.
The tracks "Stronger Than Evil" and "Don't Walk Alone" are exchanged for one another. I believe you get this information from Metal Archives, I checked up their site, and it is exchanging there, too. I'll fix this there.

Holy mother of Vishnu! This takes me back to the days of my youth. Bought this when vinyl was the only choice. Excellent album - like Maiden on speed.
