- The TISSOT PRX was a huge hit when it was re-issued by SWATCH GROUP back in 2021 and it has become a firm favourite of the watch community. I wasn't a fan of the PRX when I first had the chance to try one on, but having just spent some time with the new PRX Powermatic 80 35mm and 40mm quartz PRX with the white, fully-lumed dial, will these two new PRX models change my mind?
Tell me what you think of the TISSOT PRX in the comments!

I've always been a fan of Tissot. Glad u came up with a video with what exactly I had in my mind about the blue dial. ❤ keep going brotha.
I hate the 40mm because it feels like a pizza box on my wrist. I love the 35mm on my 6.75 wrist. It’s perfectly vintage feeling without being to small. Still haven’t bought on yet but definitely am going to keep an eye on the prices of the new automatic models.
The 35mm just wears effortlessly on smaller wrists. Which dial colour would be your pick?
@@Escapement24 honestly not sure. The mother of pearl is a nice surprise since it’s a little more subtle than most others but it’d probably be the blue or the green. One because of price and two because I’m boring😂
35 mm wear it bigger so i think perfect size for every body give a touch of vintage watch feeling
Totally agreed. The white lumen Tissot is a good looking if not the best. It is why, I bought the white one and also you can replace the strap with other color from a different brand. Oh God, I can wait to see the this white lumen Tissot on my wrist. Thank you, for help me confirm, that I made the right decision on getting the white with the lumen. 👍
Great choice and congrats on picking one up! I'm also hoping to add one to the collection soon
I was lucky enough to win the 40mm ice blue in a TH-cam competition. It's a great looking watch but I haven't heard people talk about the crown being too small. By the time I've wound and set it my hand is aching!
Thanks for the info
Another interesting video Simon, lovely watch for the money,I think I would go for the 35mm one.
Thanks Joe 🙏 With that level of finishing it offers huge value so you can't really go wrong
Funny, all the concerns you had about the 40mm regarding bracelet, finishing etc, I've never experienced.
Great vid as always dude, I'm with you, love the white quartz...might treat the wife so I can nick it
Cheers Chris - if you buy one for your wife can I nick it as well? 😂
@@Escapement24 as it's you me ol mucker 😂❤️
🤣🤣🤣
would you guys but the ice blue or the white mother of pearl?
Despite the excessive amount of information online (as you say) you haven’t figured out why the PRX is 35mm. It’s based on the original PRX from 1978. You really should do some basic research. It’s really slack mate. Let’s hope it’s the last time Tissot sends you a watch to review. I m sure they’re a bit disappointed with you.
I'd say best not to make assumptions about people you don't know. While the original was 35mm, as you should know few re-releases take in to account the original size in the modern era. Tissot feature images of the 35mm on female wrists in a lot of their marketing. Why do you think that might be?
And as far as Tissot being disappointed, they don't seem to be. Actually far from it, so another incorrect assumption.
@@Escapement24 Tissot’s CEO, in Teddy’s video, specifically said the 35mm is a one-for-one reproduction of the original Seastar. Tissot used tomographic technology to make an accurate reproduction. It’s not because they want to target the uni-sex market, as you incorrectly suggested in your video. The watch community asked for a smaller case size so Tissot issued the 35mm. This was discussed in the interview too, and it’s widely discussed in forums and social media. The 35mm is purchased mainly by males. It’s not marketed as a uni-sex watch. So I suppose the CEO is wrong and you’re right,😂😂But we all know who is wrong here. So next time - do your homework.
You should start your own channel Stephen. You're clearly an Oracle of knowledge.
You may well be right....and I may be wrong, and I'm not afraid to admit when I am. But we're all entitled to an opinion...and I think that's what I was expressing. Watch the video again and listen closely to my words because clearly you didn't the first time.
Chill bro 😂
That’s a perfect watch size for your wrist man
The full lume dial interestingly powered by different movement than the rest of the quartz PRX, it uses the thermocompensating Precidrive movement which more accurate and also hitting the mark/indices on point
That's really interesting 🤔 Makes me want it even more now!
@@Escapement24 and there will be another release by them which consist of 35 mm Digital Chronograph in both steel and gold pvd, then 35mm in ice blue dial and their new 35mm full gold pvd powermatic 80.
Yes the full gold and ice blue 35mm launched today.
The Tissot website shows the white dial quartz version as using the F06.115. I can't find anything online about that one being thermocompensating - do you have any more info?
@@Escapement24I just checked in the Tissot extranet it's F06.412 movement that fitted into the full lume watch. All of Precidrive movement are thermocompensating with accuracy ±10 second per year.
And also not only 35mm gold PM80 that's being released, but also 40mm PM80 gold. No launch info on the digital 35mm yet, hopefully it's affordable too.
The white on rubber strap still looks rather large on your wrist. Do you think it would look well on my somewhat flat 6.75 inch wrist?
Bear in mind the wide angle perspective on the videos always make the watches look a little larger than they look to the eye. I find it wears well on my wrist so definitely won't be too big on yours.
I understand the PRX’s popularity, especially given the current fashion for integrated bracelet style watches. It delivers alot of style for relatively modest outlay. But it leaves me personally cold. Because I like to swap out bracelets and straps all the time I’m not a fan of integrated bracelet designs for being too limiting, but leaving that aside I don’t find the PRX interesting enough, even with a fully-lumed dial. It’s a bit too…I dunno…corporate? A bit too formulaic. A bit to product-positioned in the market place. It comes across as a bit soulless.
I can understand why many love it. It’s just not for me.
Thanks for the interesting vid. 👍
I can under where you're coming from and until I spent some time with these two the PRX didn't really do anything for me, but I think it helped thay I've definitely warmed to the concept of integrated bracelets after seeing so many of them in the last year or two.
I was really impressed by the finishing and the overall value proposition that these two models offer and I think if an integrated bracelet design is your thing, then they're hard to beat. If it isn't your thing, there are so many other incredible designs out there to choose from - which is the great thing about this hobby.
That lume dial is 🥰
It certainly is...it's well worth the price tag simply for the joy it brings when you see it lit up!
I’m dead center of the ‘no go zone’. At 7 inches, my wrist is too big for the 35mm and too small for the 40mm. 37mm like my BB54 would be ideal.
I agree 37mm would've been the perfect size for this in many ways...but on the bright side you've got a BB54, which is one of the best Tudor releases in the last 3 years IMO 👍
Ive heard the all dial like doesn't last very long though
It doesn't last very long, but still looks pretty cool
I really wish they made decent versions of these watches. It would be worth paying the extra thousand pounds for a decent movement and good finishing. The swatch group have done Tissot no real favours in recent years. if we think back the idea was for Tissot to be what Tudor were to Rolex. Longines should be standing next to Rolex alongside omega, Longines are much more prestigious company in terms of heritage than Rolex, Tissot should be a rival for Tudor.
