This is going to be SO. MUCH. FUN. I will literally drop everything I'm doing if I catch the Ghostbusters films on TV, I love them so much. I was geeking out just from the simple detail of Venkman having his orange jacket on from the first film 😂 Can't wait 🔥
I’m so excited for this movie we are such big Ghostbusters fans in my household. I’m so glad that my child gets to grow up with these new Ghostbusters films.
I'm concerned they're doing what Halloween did and ignoring the sequel. William Atherton says no eye witnesses? The Statue Of Liberty swam through the NY harbor and walked through the streets!!!
@@challenger9520 he's saying that because he's always been biased against the Ghostbusters. I'm sure he knows that there were eye witnesses but he's willfully overlooking that because he's always been anti Ghostbusters
It would be cool to have a Ghostbusters movie that was a globetrotting adventure, going to different spooky places across the globe, hunting down clues, chasing a mystery. Are the Ghostbusters the world's only supernatural cleanup crew? If so, they would be needed in other haunted places around the world to solve other ghost infestations. If not, it would be cool to have them encounter and work with some of the other ghostbusters around the world.
No. Ghostbusters is a New York thing. The City is and always has been as much of a character as anyone else. The occasional jaunt is ok, but the primary series always needs to remain in NY.
I remember watching cable TV in 2000 and 2001, I saw Ghostbusters 1 & 2 many times as well as Beverly Hills Cop 1-3, Mad Max 1-3, Indiana Jones Trilogy and many more classic movies. My family didn't have internet in 2000 and 2001.
I also see a lot of Ghostbusters The Video Game inspiration for scenes or ghosts themselves. Like the library ghost she looks to be inspired by the video game version of her, then the lion that is loosely based off the video game with the animator blowing the lion statue up, then the drone trap going after what looks like a heavily inspired video game animator.
This might be my most anticipated movie of the year! 😄 👻 Same thoughts exactly with me! (Only part of the trailer that bothered me was the nostalgia baiting)
Hey, they could make a Ghostbusters: Nostolgiafest and I'd happily watch it. I'm 43. I've long ago developed a sense of "will I like this?" based on trailers. This is going to be another movie that I like.
I think it's pretty funny and exciting that we have two sequels with "Empire" in the title coming out the same week! Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
We got two trailers today, for those who didn't know Sony also released an international trailer that's almost completely different to the one in this video.
Personally i am super hyed for the film. Big fan since i was 5 back in 86. Athertons Peck seems like he might be the District Attorney or ADA. I think there are a few reference but not for nostalgias sake. As the baddie feeds off peoples fear, i have a feeling that the library ghost might not be there but be a construct of Ray's fear, due to how scared he was when first encountering it. Ray, Winston and Janine seem very relevant and important to the story, with Peter showing up late on and only because he is needed to help out. With the research team and all the other new elements thry are trying to open up the world and possibly expand the busters to other cities and countries eventually. Well thats what i hope anyway.
I LOVED Afterlife, and I'm excited to see this movie. It looks like it's gonna be a long live action episode of The Real Ghostbusters. "Bustin' makes me feel good." -Mr. Grooberson
I have to say that i really enjoy this trailer, and apparently our nostalgic cast will have more prominence than in the previous film. I would prefer to see this movie during Christmas, but I'm still excited.
I love it. I get that there's some more nostalgia plays, but I honestly don't think I'll mind. It's a little hard to judge that based on the trailers, but I'm not worried about that personally. I'm thrilled about the connections to The Real Ghostbusters, because that was my favourite cartoon as a kid and honestly still is. The fact that Trevor just muttered "Yeah" when he got slimed was like a resignation. Kinda as if he was around Slimer a lot and should've known what was coming, like Peter in TRGB (obviously speculation on my part). Peck saying there were "no eyewitnesses" to the Ghostbusters saving the world is kinda weird, since he was literally one himself, but whatever. I'm so excited for this. Have fun at Mega Con (I don't live close enough to go, but I hope you enjoy it).
Huh, nothing about Ghostbusters II (1989) huh? lmao I've loved all the Ghostbusters I've seen, some were better than others, and some kept the magic, but Im very excited for it and havent been too disappointed at all so far
I’m such a big ghostbusters fan and I will admit Sean, for a movie that is supposed to be a spooky but not super scary entry level film for the whole family, in the trailer reel before the actual trailer which, I can’t stand but that’s for another time, when Bill Murray said “Tall, Dark and Horny 12:00.” I immediately thought, “what? did he really just say that in a movie that will most likely be PG rated?” However, when I saw the quick glimpse of the monster when he said that I immediately went “oh ok, that makes more sense, why he is saying that now in a movie that will most likely be PG or maybe PG-13 at the very hardest rating I can see it getting.” 😂
Most people are lukewarm on this movie including myself. It’s probably colder than what most people had for Dial of Destiny. Now I did grow up watching The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. I did own Ghostbusters toys and did dress up as a Ghostbuster like what we saw in Stranger Things S2. I did own The Ghostbusters II soundtrack and Bobby Brown’s song for it was the jam. I did own a Slimer toy that squirted water. Does Ghostbusters really appeal to Zoomers if Michael Keaton’s Batman in The Flash and Indiana Jones 5 didn’t? Just more nostalgia bait. But Sony is doing well with Cobra Kai, so they might as well work on another one of their 1980s IPs if Paramount is working on a Top Gun 3 and Beetlejuice 2 is surprisingly one of the highly anticipated movies of this year next to Furiosa. Gotta love our 80s IPs about 35-40 years later. I will say Ernie Hudson is looking great. My stepdad was watching The Family Business where Ernie is the lead boss. I saw an episode or two and kept thinking how great Ernie still looked. He’s aged the best over his mostly white co-stars. We’ll probably see Sigourney Weaver in this since we did see her at the post credits in Afterlife. It looks fine. I’m not jumping up and down for this but I’ll watch it. I thought Afterlife was pretty good too but I wouldn’t say it was one of my favorites from 2021.
The difference between Ghostbusters and Dial of Destiny/The Flash is that Afterlife introduced likable actors and characters in two different generations (Paul Rudd, Mackenna Grace, and Finn Wolfhard) younger than the original Ghostbusters. Indiana Jones is just Harrison Ford playing the character. So if he's 80....the franchise ages. Ghostbusters is an idea which goes beyond that. Of course the original Ghostbusters are the most beloved and iconic, but the series isn't nearly as tied to an actor(s) as Dial of Destiny was. The budget of the Ghostbusters films is also less than half of the budget of the Flash and like quarter the budget of Dial of Destiny.
My Ghostbusters was one and done. I love the original, never liked the 2nd movie and never wasted my time with the others. Using nostalgia isn't good enough to keep making these movies.
Something about this movie just seems so much more earnest and authentic than, say, Jurassic World: Dominion or The Flash. Any sense of Bill Murray phoning it in or this just being a cynical piece of nostalgia-bait is thrown right out the window. Everyone looks like they're showing up in top form and Gil Kenan is clearly directing this out of a place of total adoration for the source material. As long as we're not ghoulishly resurrecting dead actors at any point in this movie, I'm in. Please don't incorporate a corporeal Harold Ramis again, for the love of Zuul.
👻AR 0:37 Environmental Protection Agency inspector Walter Peck who was in Ghostbusters (1984) film returns with law enforcement and city workers to have the Ghostbusters arrested and their containment unit deactivated, causing an explosion that releases the captured ghosts.👻

I think he's talking about the most recent time in Oklahoma. The events of afterlife which there was no audience witnesses
This is my most anticipated movie this year. Cannot wait!

I’ve been a fan since ‘84 when it came out in theaters.. can’t wait for this one
This makes it look so much better than I thought it was going to look, pumped!
i smiled more watching this trailer then any other ghostbuters movie aside from number one, super super excited
This is my most anticipated movie of the year!!!!

Thanks for the trailer reaction, Sean!
Looking forward to this one 👍
The kid inside me is excited for March for movie franchise I grew with, Kung Fu Panda, Ghostbusters and Godzilla.

I am so excited for this movie I love the original and afterlife and this looks just as fun
Agree
Looks Awesome
I don't mind going back to the library and the singing the Ghostbusters song is new jn a way cause nobody did it in afterlife
Slimer=🐐
Ooh this looks fun
This looks amazing!!! I cannot wait for this

I do kind of agreed with you about over doing it with nostalgia but Slimer is as iconic as the Ghostbusters themselves. To me he like the family pet.
By the way, Sean, there's another version of this trailer that's out there.
You should check it out.
W franchise
There is an international one that has so much more footage. you should do a reaction to that too!
I have to say that i really enjoy this trailer, and apparently our nostalgic cast will have more prominence than in the previous film. I would prefer to see this movie during Christmas, but I'm still excited.
Can't Wait 🔥🔥🔥
I love when he realized the trailer hadn’t actually begun💀
This is gonna be good!
This ghostbusters movie actually looks like it shouldn’t be that bad. Can’t wait to see it in theaters.
Seeing Dickless in the trailer was worth the watch😅😅😅 I can't wait for this film!!!
LOOKS AMAZING
I can’t wait to see this
Good trailer good reaction
Don't Forget The Extreme GhostBusters.
Nooooooo! They made the ghost librarian and Slimer look like puppets from the second film, why do they look so bad
I’m hopely optimistic
I love it. I get that there's some more nostalgia plays, but I honestly don't think I'll mind. It's a little hard to judge that based on the trailers, but I'm not worried about that personally.
