Omg 😆 I agree, I can’t skip one song, the album 💿 I would take to my island 🏝️ and Def Leppard is actually my favorite band but I named my first born Sebastian, he’s almost 30 now 😂
This album is exactly what we needed from Skid Row at the time. We as fans felt like metal music was on the way out, and this was SO heavy. I remember hearing the first single with my friends and we were blown away. Sebastian Bach has such an amazing voice and it is showcased well on this song. Great selection. Check out the tracks Monkey Business and the title track as well.
Metal isn't on the way out. Don't listen to radio. TH-cam and Spotify have many suggestions for great bands. If you like your music really heavy with a groove, try Gojira's newest album Fortitude and specifically the track Amazonia or their album Magma or even heavier album From Mars to Sirius track Flying Whales and Heaviest Matter in the Universe. I love this band from France. This band's range from super heavy to present day almost prog rock is unique.
I'd say that hair bands were on the way out, grunge and real heavy metal were on the rise at the time. Pantera, Metallica, Ozzy all put out hit records after this
@@MattSmith-wz1xh honestly this album was a lot heavier than typical hair metal. Id put it in the real heavy metal category, but just barley. The lyrics on it were darker than regular Hair metal as well.
I am so glad y’all listened to this song. Hit me so hard and I have this song on my playlist. Reminds me to always trust in God and live the best life I can live. Love y’all.
Rachel Bolan, the bass player, gave an interview in 2011 where he explained holding to your religious beliefs in good times and bad and that it's not easy to do that. Lines like "Why should we doubt the virgin white of fallen snow, When Faith's our shelter from the cold" definitely supports the idea. In A Darkened Room is a great next choice.
*In a Darkened Room by Skid Row should be next. It's about child abuse and hits so hard. I know how important this topic is to you, to protect children. That's what this song is about. By the way, Sebastian Bach just released a new song and video. You guys should definitely react to it. It's called 'what do I got to lose.* 🤘🤘🤘
Slave To The Grind is an amazing album and I think it allowed the band to really open up musically. You should really check out “In A Darkened Room” next. I would love to see your reaction to that one.
I loved watching this video and as the guitarist for "EvidenceBlack" I have to point out that Amber is the type of person that every guitarist scans the audience looking for. Her whole being instantly weaves into what the guitarist is doing and its like her soul locks into the soul of the guitarist for the length of the song. She is spiritually immersed into the chord changes and all the dynamics that the song offers. Look closely, at 3:14 minutes into the video she is blasted by goose bumps and then at 3:38 she and the guitarist become almost as they are one being. Amber, I have to say YOU REALLY GET IT!!!! and its a thrill to see how much you love good music. I would strongly suggest that you learn how to play guitar yourself. There are strong messages inside you just screaming to get heard. God Bless Frank
The entire Slave To The Grind Album is a banger! First one too. In A Darkened Room, Psycho Love, Monkey Business, Slave To The Grind Areal great ones to check out next. Sebastian had THE pipes back in the day
Sebastian's voice is just somethign else. Listening again to all Skid Row's old songs... We were so spoiled to grow up / be old teens when they were in their prime...
Raised Seventh Day Adventist. Hearing this song a few years after it was released back in the mid 90's, I was in junior high and questioning everything. This wrenched me in ways I didn't understand back then and still marvel at to this day. Amber has it, spot on and dead to rights. SR expresses am ambivalence toward faith that is eminently and heart-breakingly relevant.
Love this one guys. Thanks for reacting to Skid Row, they really are an amazing band! You should chekout "In a darkened room" by them, just like this one it brings you a lot of emotions.
This song was released 33 years ago today on June 26th 1991 and they were battling with the likes in nirvana, pearl jam, and the grunge that was taking over
Another masterpiece from Skid Row. When I heard the song for the first time as a teenager in the early 90s, I was immediately hooked. To this day one of the hottest songs of Skid Row
Quicksand Jesus is one of the best songs Skid Row ever put out. I remember listening to Slave to the Grind for the first time, and this song was incredible. You need to read the lyrics to this song, as they are powerful, and Sebastian Bach is one of the best, underrated lead singers of all time. He was the total package, and this song really showcases his range. Wasted Time is another great song off of Slave the Grind, that definitely needs a reaction. Thanks for the reaction to this classic!
Sebastian Bach…..incredible vocalist, VERY pretty man back in the day (I don’t know a rock woman who didn’t have a crush on him), a real “bad boy” (saw him quite a few times live and some of the antics he did on stage would probably get him arrested nowadays 🤣) and a bit of an outcast in rock circles for speaking his mind. No nonsense frontman but he was one of the very best front men I have seen at any live show
I'm still listening to Skid Row to this day after all these years. In a darken room is a MUST reaction!!! The official video has an awesome surprise near the end.
I'd recommend you both react to Queensrÿche performing Take Hold of the Flame live in Tokyo, Japan (ca. 1984). You'll love the positive message of the lyrics, the band's tight instrumentation, and Geoff Tate's incredible vocal performance.
I’ve been requesting more RYCHE for months now. J loved the last Reactions so I wish they would get back to them. Just so many requests, I’m sure it’s tough.
In a darkened room is a banger and lyrically extremely deep! I do believe slave to the grind was overall their best! I was 22 when it was released and bought the CD on day of release….. definitely the song is in my top 5 that they have

Slave to the Grind was the first metal album to debut at number 1... with some help from the new sound scan tracking. It was so heavy opening the door for "hair/sleeze" rock to become the next generation of. Bands like Pantera.. Pantera opened for Skids on the Slave tour and it was an amazing show. But to truly hear the heavy Skid Row ya gotta do "Slave to the Grind" song stands up to this day and puts even thrash in its place. One of the hardest songs that still represents the genre.

You will enjoy Alyona version of Quicksand Jesus ! Amazing song! I got that song when it came out no one I knew could really relate to that song, but I knew it was great. Alyona does an amazing version cant stop listening or reminiscing through her version. It had been years hit me hard again !
This metal band you may not have ever heard of, they are The Hu, first song is called Yuve Yuve Yu ( official music video ). The second one is Wolf Totem ( official music video ) I believe this is called Mongolian Metal.
Off this particular album the title track "Slave to the Grind" is top tier rock and Monkey Business is a close behind. You did the other single off this in Wasted Time but the album really is held up by Slave and Monkey Business.

The whole Slave To The Grind album is fire, not one bad song....
Listened to this album SO much back in the day 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Had my mom buy me this album when it came out. I was 10-12 years old. I played the cassette until it was warped.
Chromium dioxide cassette firstly, then on vynil....A real diamond of music

Sebastian Bach is an incredible vocalist... even many "opera singers react" folks are blown away by his voice...
Uhhh…Sebastian is an opera singer. He has many years of broadway under his belt. Phantom of the Opera, Superstar, etc.
True he's classically trained@@billybee3423
“In A Darkened Room” and “Wasted Time” are to other great vocal showcases from this album. “Monkey Business” is a great blues-based rocker as well!
They've done Wasted Time
in a darkened room is my favorite skid row song
Oh yes those are great
yes man, i love in a darkened room, his voice is insane there!
Skid Row is incredible! They had a great run but way too underrated. Younger generations need to wake up to Skid Row.

The whole Slave to the Grind album is epic. Can't go wrong with any song. I also love In a Darkened Room. First metal album to debut at #1
In A Darkened Room is an amazing song one of my favorites on Slave To The Grind
Incorrect. Pantera - Far Beyond Driven was the first metal album to debut at number 1.
Far Beyond Driven came out 3 years after Slave to the Grind. Slave came out in 1991, Far Beyond driven in 1994.
