Restoring an old German bench grinder that I thought will be an easy fix and a coat of paint and it turned out to be a hundred little things that needed attention.
Since the bench grinder was already working I did not do much on the mechanical side, but the wiring was in poor shape and needed a complete overhaul. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Blueberry jam, peanut butter, a candle... this bench grinder has turned into a romantic breakfast! How wholesome :)
As always, this video was so satisfying 🥰 I hope you keep doing more videos, we love them!

I’ve been waiting almost a year watcher pretty much every video he has made dude make more the veiws don’t matter about the people who stay
The only reason I am making videos now is because of the people that stay. Views are so low I'm not even covering the electricity bill :D
Glad your back. Missed ya
YESS!!! BRO I GENUINELY THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD 😭
Anyway i've already said it and i'm gonna say it again cuz i'm that guy 👁️👄👁️:
i've been following you since the STTART and i still love you. You have one of the best community on TH-cam. I wanna say congratulations for everything you reached, your subs, well, your "loyal followers". Don't give up! ❤❤
Thank you mate! Lately my videos were not loved by the algorithm that much, so I guess it's only people like you that are still around that are my audience.
Awesome restoration!
Hey man! Nice to see you again!
Nice great job! Looks better than new!
This was a valiant effort after a year. Enjoyed the video.
Absolutely awesome. Looks better than new 👍👍
Absolutely awesome! It is good to hear from you, I hope your doing well. Take care!!
I'm better, thanks! Still not 100% but I can function normally.
i missed your videos so much i started rewatching some of my favorites the other day and i was so excited to see this in my subscriptions
This kind of comments are what make me want to publish more videos, thank you so much!
👍👏👏👏 Excellent work! Bravo to the master! Very much liked it!!!
I missed your videos so much! So glad to see a new one
Thank you so much!
Nice to see you back, mate. Nice little restoration. It sure will come in handy in the workshop. Cheers.
Pretty bold tapping that hole with a drill unless those were like 10% threads
Loved the video
absolutely amazing
Thanks!
Oh, how I’ve missed your videos! I just got home from work, I cracked a cold beer, and giggled like a school girl when I saw you posted a new video. What a perfect way to end the week… I did remember I was subscribed still, but I wasn’t sure you were still making videos. 😆
I took a long break, first year for health reasons then because the channel seems dead in youtube's eyes and was kinda disappointed in the performance of the new uploads. I'll probably try to make a few more videos, see how they are received. Thanks for being subscribed!
Awesome! Sorry about your health - hopefully that is all resolved and you are doing better now. I simply love this channel! Your projects and videos are so cool.
Long time not seen a video from you. Have missed you here; good you are back.
And hope for more.
Thanks for the nice work.
Thanks for the kind words! I hope it will be more videos this time!
The algorithm is a confusing and mysterious beast - you probably need to say something controversial in order to get people fighting in the comments/show more of the kittttttttty
Nice job! Have missed your content, Sir!
Thank you kindly!
Very nice!
Yes I forgot. It is good to see you.
How are you feeling? So excited about another restoration video. Thank you!
I'm better, thanks!
could you make a video about your workshop? would like to see how everything is set up.
It' not done yet. There is a post in my comunity tab with a picture of it. When it will be finished I will make a shop tour.

Simple and satisfying one. Great job.
Even though I know what you're doing, when you plugged it on I thought it were going to go boom D:
"Comment if you forgot you were subscribed to this channel"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Finally!! Missed your videos, man! 🙂
Multumesc Andrei!
@@TheSmallWorkshop eu mulțumesc!!
Beautifully done.
Less go new video
Yup, I definitely forgot lol!
I forgot I was subscribed to this channel. At first, I just thought it was because I had somehow missed your videos because I'm subscribed to too many channels, but I was surprised to find out it's because you haven't published a video in 11 months!
Yea, 2 years ago I got sick and did not had the energy to make more videos. Last year, when I got a little better, I published a couple of videos, but they performed so poorly I got discouraged.
Brilliant work, dude! Nicely done! 😃
And I definitely didn't forget about your ch!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you mate!
Wow amazing👍👌job sir what a bit of lv can do fantastic job sir😁👍👏👏
Thank you!
One video a year? Come on man. You are too good to be absent here
Wobbly jobly
Parabéns pelo trabalho, perfeito!
14:36 The 4-digit postal code (5630 Remscheid) at least dates it to before 1993. That was the year when Germany introduced 5-digit postal codes after reunification in 1990.
Wabeco / Walter Blombach GmbH still seem to exist, now at 42899 Remscheid.
great to see another video! beautiful as always.
and no offence, but I wouldn't want to try one of your PB&J sandwiches... 😂
LOL! Thanks!
Honestly there's some parts of these videos that I can't tell if they're sped up or not.
Some are and some are not. I try to make the video less boring by cutting and speeding some parts. But this is an amateur gig and I'm no professional video editor, so the effects might get weird some times, sorry!
What do you call the little insulators you put on the ends of the wires when you put them into the electrical connector strip? And all the tool you used to twist the wire? Thanks
They are wire ferrules and the tool is a crimper for them. The tool comes in square or hexagonal shape, I prefer the hexagonal one as it crimps them more evenly.
Functional resto, but would have done something with the switch.
Nice old bench grinder, but too bad the stone still wobbles. There must be a way to fix that.
Stone can be dressed and the wobble will be gone. The axle doesn't wobble, I've had it on the lathe and it's perfectly straight, so the wobble is from manufacturing error of the stone, quite normal for grinding stones to wobble and need dressing.
Good job
👍👍❤❤
Thank you for your sign of life!
To answer your question: Yes, it looks a lot like "German engineering" to me. Namely according to "old school engineering". The proof? Despite decades of abuse and neglect, the device starts up right away, even though it doesn't even have a decent cord.
I can judge that, I am an old German myself. ;0)
From the type of the electric motor i think is an GDR product. Техника молодёжи!
Nice restoration until the end. I've never seen an electrical grinder with a water tray attached to it before. I wonder why?. Initially, it sounds like it could be useful but then you think - hold on, water, splashes and dribbles, mains power electricity, metal tools. No thanks - call me an old fusspot but I tend to prefer it when my heart is beating.
Great point! I changed the thumbnail accordingly :D
looks like the shaft or bearing are still a bit off given the wobble at the end.
I'm gonna dress the wheel and the wobble will be gone. If the original stone woud've not been fractured I woud've kept it and dress it.
Who are you and how did this video get in my subscription feed? 😂
I'm just somebody that you used to know :D
Screws on switch? o.o
No protective cover
2:18
EAST German, maybe???
Probably! That's the only justification for such a sloppy work!
Yeah I forgot
I knew it!!
Made in East Germany
nice job but i do have to say the grey paint job is making me kinda sad
Me too mate, me too!
No support table
It looks... (before you worked on it) EAST German...
I forgot! 😂
I knew it!
Amazing work as always. How does it work with the wood carving knives?
Stone is too coarse for such a fine blade.
I don't think that was German made.... Germany usually has top notch engineering.
It was, I found the model online (that's where I got the image for the label). It's called Wabeco Model 14200.
Yearly video released 😂
LOL! I hope to be more than one video this time :D
This is a repair, not a restoration :)
That's what i meant to say. And a crappy one unfortunatly. Happy im not the only one to see that.
Like the video, love the cat! But candle as a spacer? Durable? Honest question. Subscribed. 👍
forgot.
Honestly I wonder if tabs was modification as it doesn't look original to it.
First
Not really :D
That wheel looked a little janky, either the wheel or spacer 🤷🏻♂️
Yea... It could need a little dressing.
...is 2:18 a jojo reference?
Wtf you only restored half
What is this channel?! I don't remember subbing to it :/
Just a middle aged guy in a basement cleaning rust of of tools.
Why is your domain name for sale?
I don't use it anymore and probably some company grabbed it. They can keep it, lol!
