Biggest Blue Jays fan of all time has to be Geddy Lee. He sits right behind home plate almost every game, he's sang the national anthem, he's thrown out the first pitch a number of times, he even records the score. He's a great singer and bassist too. Rush is just plain epic lol
Man Cave TV Yeah, I'm a huge Rush fan, and it always makes me smile whenever I turn on the Blue Jays game and see my hero sitting there for the world to see. I'm suprised they didn't talk about him also, since he's there like every game.
1:36 "she's so nice.....but not so according to blue jays staffers." Then goes on to talk about the mystery of who it is again, so is she nice or mean?
Can someone get the CBC a dictionary so they can see what "solved" means. So the mystery woman behind home plate is....a woman.....with season tickets.
Here's something interesting! I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a big Reds fan before moving permanently to the great City of Toronto and, when I first started noticing the lady seated behind home plate during the Blue Jays' games, my initial thought was, "The Ghost of Marge Schott". I kid you not! If anyone is curious, just "Google" her name!
I remember there was a similar-aged lady about the time the NY Mets were making their bid for the 1986 title; she was sitting behind the plate at old Shea Stadium, rolling her arms over each other pretty much daily/nightly.
My father and I call her "Grandma". Over the years when we watch games together, sometimes one of us will ask about her whereabouts. Y'know, along the lines of "Looks like Grandma isn't there, was she there yesterday?" lol.
she's Jose Bautista's mommy. She just doesn't want to admit that she comes to all her sons games just so Bautista can keep up his tough guy reputation lol
Nope. I do have a sense of humor but the things I find funny aren't of this quality. This joke was not very well thought out. As you can see nobody else found it funny and that's why you have no upvotes. You must be the one without the sense of humor because my comment was made with no intention to be malicious or anything of the sort, but to make a joke. You have taken it a step further and provided me with a response such as this. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to interact as I hope you do, too.
ShortMoviesbyDoug lol idc if they do or don't i didnt write it 2 get popularity and trust i have great sense if humor but keep on replying back tho lol.... wait don't lol
during the Texas game the guy behind home plate did the best things. he was doing hand signals to try and throw off Texas pitcher he was a absolutely hammerd old man.
My friends always refer to her as 'scarf lady' because she always wears a big scarf. One thing I also notice is that she almost never watches the game. She's chatting. Staring off in the distance or playing on her phone.
My husband & I are Jays' fans & we have certainly noticed this lady. We call her Nana and get a kick out of it when she's there, always in the same seat. Not news for most, but it gives us a smile. We may notice if Nana looks especially dressed up, or if she's having a snack. She has an even personality like Edwin Encarnacion and doesn't often express emotion, but she sure got upset when he was quickly ejected by an ump in the 2016 season! We also try to guess if Nana's kids are there as there's often a resemblance. Just a sweet, fun little part of watching Blue Jays' baseball during the season.
She wants to be anonymous but you put her face and highlight her for everyone to harass her now at the game. She doesn’t want fame she just wants to enjoy the game and the team she loves.
Why has no one made a story on the guy who always shows up in the stands behind home plate at every playoff game, with a bright Orange and obvious Marlins Jersey and visor?
What about that blue post? It's always there. Didn't anyone else notice that post? Let's use public funds to get CBC there to cover that story. I want to know about that post!!!!
Pffffft, the only real home plate lady is Barbera Fields, the lady behind home plate at Shea Stadium from 1964 to 2012. You can see her especially in videos from the 86 series against the Red Sox.
I've noticed someone wearing a Marlins jacket behind home plate in World Series games and near the court in NBA Finals games. Maybe you should do a video on them.
OMG!!!!! Who is this mystery woman, we dont know how to get ahold of her; all we know is that she sits in the same exact seat every game but how will we ever find her.
1:36 Pause the video there at that time stamp. This is what a woman who see's a twinkie and knows what she wants looks like lol. "OMNOMNOM! ME WAN TWINKIE NAO! AKA Twinkie Monster. Chick is freakin GLOWING man lol
Oh, it's much more fun NOT knowing who she is, so we can make little stories up about her while watching games and commenting on twitter. For instance, many people don't know this, but she's the daughter of the inventor of Werther's Originals. True story. Between myself and a bunch of other Jays fans on twitter, we call her Nonna.
Well, if I ever wanted to waste 2:39 of my time again, I know where to go.
?
How is the mystery "solved" if we still don't know who she is??
Ryan Lassiter we still don’t know
you do not need to know, dearie. let it go.
Mystery unsolved. Another great example of investigative journalism.
What part of 'She wants to remain anonymous' don't you get?
Lol.liars
@@EVAUnit4A...but the title to this video is misleading/clickbait as the name/identity of the lady is not revealed.
- "I've never heard of her."
- "Any hints!?"
1:04 That sounds alot like pewdipie... Just me or am i going insane.
She works at Sportsnet. The caliber of people there is very low.
Yeah, doubly bad ..lol. Twins, right?
Astros Gamer9 you're insane

Lee is awesome. rush is awesome
Mystery? Its just a rich old woman who like Toronto baseball.
Someone needs to look up the definition of "solved." I like the Geddy Lee's mom theory though.
Yeah. when I heard that I got excited. I'm a huge rush fan
***** Yep, me too.
breaking news we found out who she us but we cant tell you, or we are pretending that we know who she is and cant tell u
That's definitely not Geddy Lee's mom!!
SPRPhilly +
I thought the title said solved??? This is about as "unsolved" as it gets.
Greeneyes 217 how? she has a Facebook page. so she obviously is a real person
Greeneyes 217 they know who she is it seems
Daily Scratcher the Facebook page is only called "The home plate lady". It tells you absolutely nothing personal about her.
1:07 on reddit there are attempts... wait thats not reddit
1:36 "she's so nice.....but not so according to blue jays staffers." Then goes on to talk about the mystery of who it is again, so is she nice or mean?
She meant: not so in regards to her being Kelly. It was bad editing there.
Can someone get the CBC a dictionary so they can see what "solved" means. So the mystery woman behind home plate is....a woman.....with season tickets.
Who wants to stay anonymous.
Here's something interesting! johnwoa she is the offspring of harold and yolanda ballard
I grew up a reds fan and thought the same thing lol
This is why i never watch network news.
Legend has it they still talking about who is the fan instead of actually investigating.
I remember there was a similar-aged lady about the time the NY Mets were making their bid for the 1986 title; she was sitting behind the plate at old Shea Stadium, rolling her arms over each other pretty much daily/nightly.
I remember her ...
Why not just walk up to her and ask her "who the hell are you " simple as that.
**SPOILER ALERT**
Mystery Not Solved
It's Ted Rodgers grandmother
My father and I call her "Grandma". Over the years when we watch games together, sometimes one of us will ask about her whereabouts. Y'know, along the lines of "Looks like Grandma isn't there, was she there yesterday?" lol.
she's Jose Bautista's mommy. She just doesn't want to admit that she comes to all her sons games just so Bautista can keep up his tough guy reputation lol
WHO IS SHE?! WHERE DOES SHE COME FROM?!WHAT'S HER NAME?! WHO CARES!!!!!!!
SHE CAME FROM HER MAMA'S WOMB LMAO HER NAME IS MRS. SANTA CLAUS
CATJAYBIRD How about just not replying next time?
Nope. I do have a sense of humor but the things I find funny aren't of this quality. This joke was not very well thought out. You must be fun at parties.
why dont they just walk up to her
Alfred Miranda if you watch to the end the tell you that they did approach her
This is news worthy? and if the mystery is solved, then who is she?
SHE'S MY LOST LONG GRANDMOTHER LMAO
She's yo mama.
Just another example of the groundbreaking journalism we’ve come to expect from the CBC.
during the Texas game the guy behind home plate did the best things. he was doing hand signals to try and throw off Texas pitcher he was a absolutely hammerd old man.
Thibault amuricans 😜
There used to be a guy that sat behind home plate at every White Sox game with a brown jacket on but no one cares about him
a news story trying to make something out of nothing. welcome to Toronto
My friends always refer to her as 'scarf lady' because she always wears a big scarf. One thing I also notice is that she almost never watches the game. She's chatting. Staring off in the distance or playing on her phone.
wow! so you never found out who she is or even
talked to her??
This is award winning reporting!
Your sarcasm is spot on re. the clickbait title to this video.
but nobody still knows who threw the beer!!!
1:05 Heyy, I didn't know Pewdiepie was a Blue Jays fan XD
In summary , it's still a mystery...
I have noticed her for a very long time and with friends I refer to her as “Mama Jay is in her nest looking after her flock”.
i notice also this grandmom i always tell my friends while We watching the game
i love that homeplate lady, she wanted nothing to do with those two bit news hacks.
My husband & I are Jays' fans & we have certainly noticed this lady. We call her Nana and get a kick out of it when she's there, always in the same seat. Not news for most, but it gives us a smile. Anyone notice the two guys sitting to the right too? I always see them there as well.
Reminds me of the Pink Hat Guy at cubs games
The CBC news story that defined a generation
The only person not throwing beer bottles at that stadium.
I agree. I respect the fact this woman wants to stay anonymous, but solved the mystery is pushing the envelope
And that is the extent of objective investigative journalism with the CBC.
She wants to be anonymous but you put her face and highlight her for everyone to harass her now at the game. She doesn’t want fame she just wants to enjoy the game and the team she loves.
That Charlzie gal rocks!! (That burgundy sweater 1:40.)
She is not Geddy's mother but Alex Lifeson's mom. He sits in the same seat from time to time.
They solved the mystery!
The lady who sits behind home plate is the lady who sits behind home plate!
This is weird as hell, my dad just pointed her out today and this came up on my TH-cam timeline today
Why has no one made a story on the guy who always shows up in the stands behind home plate at every playoff game, with a bright Orange and obvious Marlins Jersey and visor?
She doesnt stand out like marlins guy.
If she has been a season ticket holder for years then that is her connection to the club.
I like that everyone pronounces "out" as "oat".
What about that blue post? It's always there. Didn't anyone else notice that post? Let's use public funds to get CBC there to cover that story. I want to know about that post!!!!
Slow news day in Toronto apparently
Pffffft, the only real home plate lady is Barbera Fields, the lady behind home plate at Shea Stadium from 1964 to 2012. You can see her especially in videos from the 86 series against the Red Sox.
This story is like "EVERYONE WONDERS WHO SHE IS" and then everyone they ask is like "uhhhhh yeah I guess I've heard of her?"
Incredible news.
A loyal fan... There, solved
Award winning news broadcast.
I was more interested in the fact that Geddy Lee. one of the biggest rock icons in the world is sitting in the same section
Matt D that’s like the first thing I noticed
I would be interested in knowing more about that couple standing outside the stadium at 1:22. They look sooooo HUGE!
this is where our tax payer dollars go.....
tax payers dollars? we don't pay any tax towards the news
CBC is a government run news organization.
5 cent ass cbc is funded by the government.... Look it up
Someone should pay her to change seats for a season and see if the team improves.
Doctor Feelfunny
They're pretty good.
Ive been to a lot of Rockies games, so why am I not "mysterious boy who sits in same section every game"
Her last name is sibble and she runs a chain of hospitals in Ontario
At least this isnt as bad as cnn, fox and msnbc having hour long coverage of if Trump and Clinton will shake hands before the debate.
So the mystery wasn't solved. Click bait galore.
I've noticed someone wearing a Marlins jacket behind home plate in World Series games and near the court in NBA Finals games. Maybe you should do a video on them.
that woman is the teams mascot. her name is Evelyn Descott
+Ryan Whalen yeah wats up
I miss the days when George and barb bush were always behind home plate at the Astros games.
So she sits in the same seats for over two decades and they still can't ask her who she is? OMG... Are these guys looking for D.B. Cooper, too?
Mystery solved?
Asking the pitcher if he knew about her probably distracted him from the job at hand and the Jays went down in post season!
Tremendous reporting
The world's slowest news day.
OMG!!!!! Who is this mystery woman, we dont know how to get ahold of her; all we know is that she sits in the same exact seat every game but how will we ever find her.
Oscar Elenes 😂😂😂👍You win!! 🏆
She's the ghost of a woman who was killed by a foul ball in 1999 in that very seat.
this is like that long haired guy who sits front row in every wwe event
Rush , best 3 person band ever
Mystery is NOT Solved. Nice try.
I didn't know that every season ticket holder was famous.
LOL, they need to know about a season ticket holder that hardly anyone heard of?
It took you ten years to send out a reporter to find out who she is.You guys are slow.
how was it solved???
I wonder if she knows Burt Reynolds?
I bet she knows knows Burt Reynolds.
Funny you should say that because I was thinking it could be Sally Field. You know, because baseball field, Sally Field... never mind.
I think it's Reynolds incognito.
her name is Sybil.
What's weird is not her but people talking about her. Like seriously, what are people doing talking about her? Why am I commenting on this? lol
She's that girl that was in the Safety Dance video.
excuse me honey no one solved this “SHE WANTS TO STAY ANONYMOUS” i’m shook
"All Dozens of Blue Jays fans were interviewed. The mystery will soon be solved as she represents 5% of all fans present at any given Blue Jays game"
a wild Geddy Lee appears above the left side BLUEJAYS.com logo @ 00:25
She is related to the late Ted Rodgers of Rodgers Communications
do you ever know E40 at Giants playoffs games behind home plate
If you watch a Cubs home game there is a guy behind home plate! He where's a pink hat and green sweet shert

So what was solved?? Still up in the air if you ask me.
What about the Marlins guy at the Cubs game
She's a season ticket holder. Mystery solved.
Clickbait title as the name/identity of the lady is NOT revealed.
1:36 Pause the video there at that time stamp. This is what a woman who see's a twinkie and knows what she wants looks like lol. "OMNOMNOM! ME WAN TWINKIE NAO! AKA Twinkie Monster. Chick is freakin GLOWING man lol

NukeliciousHD
The guy who plays TV games?
Wait. Where's Gedde Lee? I've met him, he's a SWEETHEART!
Lorrie Smith top left
Oh, it's much more fun NOT knowing who she is, so we can make little stories up about her while watching games and commenting on twitter. For instance, many people don't know this, but she's the daughter of the inventor of Werther's Originals. True story. Between myself and a bunch of other Jays fans on twitter, we call her Nonna.
Is this the brady mom doing the news?
