@@MyRegardsToTheDodo well baseball stadiums are pretty large so it's not abnormal to have many open seats, especially if a team isn't very popular. The stadium of my team, the Boston Red Sox, always looks virtually filled to its 37,755 seat capacity whenever I go, so it varies from team to team

I’m fully convinced that if you catch a ball in your beer cup, you have to chug it. Even if it spills all over you it’s the right thing to do.

What I truly love about moments like these is that these may be the moments that cement a love of a sport in a young fan's heart. A kid who liked baseball might change their whole focus after a great catch like some of these.

When I was a kid I was at a Phillies game in old veteran stadium and it was mostly empty but there was a high pop up that looked like it was going to nail this guy that was walking with both hands full of food on the catwalk between 2 sets of bleachers. Everyone was holding their breath thinking this guy was going to get hit in the head and drinks and food where going to go everywhere. Instead the guy puts all his food down and catches the ball in his hat. The small crowd cheered louder for that than they did for the whole game.
I'll admit it. There is an actual feel-good moment involving Machado now. Never thought I'd see the day.

The most entertaining part of any baseball game ever.
In July 2017, I was with my camp at a Scranton Wilkes-Barre Railriders game and I caught a foul ball cleanly off a ricochet with my glove. Everyone went absolutely nuts at my catch. I was at the back of the section my camp was sitting in so everyone had a great view of me making the catch. I made sure not to lose the ball even all these years later. Whenever I play catch with someone, I always use a professional baseball. I have a few other ones.

This just makes me realize how dangerous this would be if you're not paying attention, or if you can't catch, and get smashed by a ball.

I was at a Mariners game in the Kingdome when attendance was maybe 30,000 so no one was seated in the third deck. A few intrepid fans were up there anyway, trying to walk away with some souvenirs. One guy was on the left field side above the dugout, and he caught three foul balls in one inning!

I caught two fouls balls in one game what I didn’t realize that was my lifetime limit. Not one foul ball in over thousand games has even been close to me.

@@timothybrown5999 well I was kid so I was seat hopping when the ushers were not looking lol. One was caught in Lower reserve and the next in Lower Box. It was at Candlestick in the mid 80’s.
@@dwaynepeterson3927 that’s more of what I expected. It’s still impressive, but much more of an anomaly in a packed house than a mostly empty Stick. That’s where I went to my first game too, in 87.

Nah there was one where a dude was holding a baby and snatched the foul ball from the opposing team’s player. That’s the best one ever.
