Yes, because Red is a happy and lucky color, thats why we identify Red clothing for a birthday or valentines day…. And btw tagalog mixed with English is a unique language that the filipinos invented….. it is called Taglish ( a combination of tagalog and english) It was created because, some words in tagalog are much better expressed in english and vice versa… there are also some tagalog words that cannot be translated to english which cannot be found in any english dictionary.

We got it from the Chinese culture as they migrated years ago in the Philippines and they passed that on. Almost everyone has Chinese DNA in their blood. Thank you for this RV. I've watched this video plenty of times but it still hits me hard. I can feel their struggles through the bones. It pains me seeing them to go through lot of hardships and struggles but to see them where they are now and startingbto see the fruits of their labor is a a very sweet victory Indeed! Besides their talents, it's their humble beginnings and great personalities that made me Stan or fan girling them. I'm not just a fan, I earnestly pray and hope for their success in life cause they deserve it. Their life story is a great testimony or a great inspiration to the many who is struggling in achieving their goals in life or having a hard time overcoming their challenges. Fun fact, science discovered guys have less cones in their eyes so they see only red while women can see more shades of red so when she says she sees something orange-red she most likely is right 😉.

Oh my gosh, I've been waiting for this reaction huhuhu. Thank you so much. I can't wait for ep 6, and that one is so much heavier. You're spot on about their struggles bonding them closer together. Though they didn't have the same degree of hardships, they still faced all of those challenges together. In one interview, Ken mentioned that his parents didn't talk to him for a couple of years because he didn't continue his studies. That's why in on of his birthday celebrations, he really started bawling when he got a call from them. Josh, on the other hand, had the most bitter experience as he had recounted in his vlog. (That vlog was a little hard to finish, actually) Btw, you inquired about the color red and its relation to birthdays. It's more of a Chinese culture than Filipino (we have a lot of Fil-Chi here). Red in the Chinese culture represents happiness, luck, and life. They wear it during celebrations like birthdays and weddings. So when we see someone wearing red, we usually greet them happy birthday as a joke. 😊 All the love to both of you! 🌹💖
Wearing red during celebrations (birthday, Christmas, New Year) is indeed a common thing in the PH, but this was originally a tradition from the Chinese, whom the Filipinos have had early trades with even before the Spaniards came in the 1500's. Josh had the worst life experience among the five. Haven't watched this yet so I really enjoyed watching it with you. 🥰 So this is more of an in depth back story of the boys. There are some information that are really new to me. Glad to have learned about it with the the both of you. As per usual, I enjoyed your reactions. Glad that you're able to learn a thing or two about the real conditions of some of the Filipinos here in the Philippines. Yes, we're all smiles but behind it all we are struggling to get through day by day. We're just holding on to our faith, to our God, trusting in Him to get us through this. We will persevere. Am currently at 24:31. I don't know if they will explain it a little more here, but the airport in Manila was near the location of the company. The cab driver scammed Ken because it was obvious he wasn't from Manila. The driver drove around aimlessly then brought Ken back near where he got the cab because that was where the company was. At most, the cab ride should have cost maybe 200 pesos (about 3 to 4 USD) because it was only about a 15 minute drive, but Ken paid 600 pesos (12 USD). Additionally, Josh also had no money at the time. He even said that he depended on Pablo to eat. If Pablo didn't have food (baon or packed lunch in English) with him, Josh would also not be able to eat. But Josh still decided to pay for Ken's plane ticket which would have probably cost him anywhere between 1,500 pesos (30 USD) to 6,000 pesos (115 USD), depending on the airline and ticket available. If I'm not mistaken, they said this in their interview with Toni Gonzaga on her Toni Talks show. If you've not seen that yet, it's also a good watch. :)
I didn't want to spam your comment section so am just replying to myself lol at 25:31, for some context: Here in the Philippines, people with low ranges don't usually get famous. There's a bias and preference for high voices like Stell's in the industry. If you've ever reacted to KZ Tandingan, she also commented about this. She felt like she couldn't succeed in the music industry when she got surgery on her throat because she could no longer hit the high notes. On top of that, when SB19 started, they struggled because boybands and groups were not a thing here. Again, the bias and preference was with soloists who fit a certain stereotyped look, and can reach that high note.

Aside from sharing food with Pablo... In another interview, Justin mentioned about Josh wearing old and worn out shoes during their trainee days. How he endured that, considering they have to practice dancing everyday. Mad respect for his dedication and sacrifice! I also admire his generosity for helping out Ken with the plane ticket even if he himself actually needs whatever little money he has. 💙 It says so much about his heart, his character. It most likely cost josh around 115 USD for the ticket. Im from the neighboring city, it cost me 100 excluding tax, insurance and extra baggage.

I'm here again! SLMT for supporting SB19🥰💙 and I actually have a recommendation. after watching SB19's 'What?' mv together, I suggest watching the behind the scenes of it (only 1 vid) and 'What? The Making Film'. the making film is a 10 minute documentary on how they did 'What?'. from the conposition, choreography, the making of the music video and such. there are 5 episodes and it's just 10 minutes per vid. that's all SLMT again! I love your reactions🥰

I just wish all those who doubted them and bashed them watch this podcast by the Juans, to at least learn something about their life stories. People always see the successful part or the good part of the journey of the artist and not the journey before the success. Their individual stories are what endears them to their fans and the very reason why A'tin is very protective of the boys. They are truly an inspiration. We got it from the Chinese culture as they migrated years ago in the Philippines and they passed that on. Almost everyone has Chinese DNA in their blood. We wear red during new year celebrations(pushes the bad luck away for the coming year), birthdays and even travelling to other places…for good luck and prosperity. Have a great week, Cindy and Gary!

Thank you for this RV. I've watched this video plenty of times but it still hits me hard. I can feel their struggles through the bones. It pains me seeing them to go through lot of hardships and struggles but to see them where they are now and startingbto see the fruits of their labor is a a very sweet victory Indeed! Besides their talents, it's their humble beginnings and great personalities that made me Stan or fan girling them. I'm not just a fan, I earnestly pray and hope for their success in life cause they deserve it. Their life story is a great testimony or a great inspiration to the many who is struggling in achieving their goals in life or having a hard time overcoming their challenges. I'm already on my 50's but I still take inspiration on them. They gave me motivation to keep going because they made it so why can I? I agree with all the insights that you both said. I always enjoy and appreciate your good words of wisdom and your genuine reaction. Thank you so much. I adore you both. I never missed any single reaction videos that you do for SB19. Fun fact, science discovered guys have less cones in their eyes so they see only red while women can see more shades of red so when she says she sees something orange-red she most likely is right 😉.

Oh my gosh, I've been waiting for this reaction huhuhu. Thank you so much. I can't wait for ep 6, and that one is so much heavier. You're spot on about their struggles bonding them closer together. Though they didn't have the same degree of hardships, they still faced all of those challenges together. In one interview, Ken mentioned that his parents didn't talk to him for a couple of years because he didn't continue his studies. That's why in on of his birthday celebrations, he really started bawling when he got a call from them. Josh, on the other hand, had the most bitter experience as he had recounted in his vlog. (That vlog was a little hard to finish, actually)
Btw, you inquired about the color red and its relation to birthdays. It's more of a Chinese culture than Filipino (we have a lot of Fil-Chi here). Red in the Chinese culture represents happiness, luck, and life. They wear it during celebrations like birthdays and weddings. So when we see someone wearing red, we usually greet them happy birthday as a joke. 😊

Wearing red during celebrations (birthday, Christmas, New Year) is indeed a common thing in the PH, but this was originally a tradition from the Chinese, whom the Filipinos have had early trades with even before the Spaniards came in the 1500's.

Am currently at 24:31. I don't know if they will explain it a little more here, but the airport in Manila was near the location of the company. The cab driver scammed Ken because it was obvious he wasn't from Manila. The driver drove around aimlessly then brought Ken back near where he got the cab because that was where the company was. At most, the cab ride should have cost maybe 200 pesos (about 3 to 4 USD) because it was only about a 15 minute drive, but Ken paid 600 pesos (12 USD).
Additionally, Josh also had no money at the time. He even said that he depended on Pablo to eat. If Pablo didn't have food (baon or packed lunch in English) with him, Josh would also not be able to eat. But Josh still decided to pay for Ken's plane ticket which would have probably cost him anywhere between 1,500 pesos (30 USD) to 6,000 pesos (115 USD), depending on the airline and ticket available.
If I'm not mistaken, they said this in their interview with Toni Gonzaga on her Toni Talks show. If you've not seen that yet, it's also a good watch. :)
I didn't want to spam your comment section so am just replying to myself lol at 25:31, for some context: Here in the Philippines, people with low ranges don't usually get famous. There's a bias and preference for high voices like Stell's in the industry. If you've ever reacted to KZ Tandingan, she also commented about this. She felt like she couldn't succeed in the music industry when she got surgery on her throat because she could no longer hit the high notes. On top of that, when SB19 started, they struggled because boybands and groups were not a thing here. Again, the bias and preference was with soloists who fit a certain stereotyped look, and can reach that high note.
Am now at 37:55. I highly recommend you watch Josh's vlog (the one they're referring to here in the episode). I think you'd also really appreciate that one.

Aside from sharing food with Pablo... In another interview, Justin mentioned about Josh wearing old and worn out shoes during their trainee days. How he endured that, considering they have to practice dancing everyday. Mad respect for his dedication and sacrifice! I also admire his generosity for helping out Ken with the plane ticket even if he himself actually needs whatever little money he has. 💙 It says so much about his heart, his character. It most likely cost josh around 115 USD for the ticket. Im from the neighboring city, it cost me 100 excluding tax, insurance and extra baggage.
