I like the last point mentioned: when reverting to Islam first and foremost is all about correcting your iman/faith(believe in Allah as the only God & prophet Muhammad SAW as the messenger) and later on slowly you learn about Islamic laws & legislations; what’s halal & what’s haram. InshaAllah Allah will make your path easier than you thought.
This is exactly how my Islamic teacher explained it to me and I’m so proud to have had a teacher who gave me context and explanations behind all these instead of just forcing me to follow it blindly. It’s good to understand our religion because we should be spending everyday trying to perfect ourselves. Idk why some people have to make it feel like a stigma for not knowing certain things especially parents

I was invited to their house for a lunch, and although I told them that they could serve me seafood if they don't know where to find halal meat (it's very easy to find in Malaysia, but maybe they aren't sure), they served me vegetarian food instead because they're worried they might make mistakes with the food. it's so sweet how their whole family including the children ate all vegetables just to welcome me
As a Malaysian, i agree with you. Furthermore, i live in the state where selling alcohol is not permitted so i never saw a drunkard before. I have non muslim friends but they're so understanding, they always careful not to talk about alcohol when they're with other muslim friends

Whatever he told it completely right if u want to convert to islam but u drink it's ok step by step u will stop of drinking . Because in the beginning of islam also Arabian was drinking alcohol but step by step God have banned this habit.

Chicken Ninja Thats the reason why they are haram. Haram means harm. So things that are harmful to you, are haram. Such as drinking. It’s obvious it causes liver, kidney, and brain damage. And can lead to other things such DUI and cause car accidents. And for pork, scientists have discovered that pork has certain enzymes and bacteria that are not beneficial to the human body. And also, pigs live in mud and their own poop. Which automatically makes any animal haram, as it has to be untouched by any bacteria.

I was invited to their house for a lunch, and although I told them that they could serve me seafood if they don't know where to find halal meat (it's very easy to find in Malaysia, but maybe they aren't sure), they served me vegetarian food instead because they're worried they might make mistakes with the food. it's so sweet how their whole family including the children ate all vegetables just to welcome me

Whatever he told it completely right if u want to convert to islam but u drink it's ok step by step u will stop of drinking .
Because in the beginning of islam also Arabian was drinking alcohol but step by step God have banned this habit.

Chicken Ninja Thats the reason why they are haram. Haram means harm. So things that are harmful to you, are haram. Such as drinking. It’s obvious it causes liver, kidney, and brain damage. And can lead to other things such DUI and cause car accidents. And for pork, scientists have discovered that pork has certain enzymes and bacteria that are not beneficial to the human body. And also, pigs live in mud and their own poop. Which automatically makes any animal haram, as it has to be untouched by any bacteria.
