    They remind me of a less expensive version of my speaker which is a Legacy Focus se minus less amt tweeter and smaller woofers and smaller mid ranges. The cabinet angle for less baffle diffraction etc is the same would not be surprised if they loosely based their design on the Focus SE.

    I own a pair of T2+. They are great sounding speakers but for an AMT or Heil driver I expected a bit more forwardness in the upper frequency range. I think these T3+ would have been better served with a larger AMT driver, they used the same size as the T2+ and an additional mid range driver was not necessary. Bass and mid-range response on the T2+ is excellent. I mostly listen to jazz and use mine for music only. Don't care for the Darth Vader look of these speakers. I may be getting rid of mine for a pair of Magnepan LRS+ for around the same price.

      Martin Logan have the superior high end with a bigger ribbon and is built with much better components than the T3+. The Motion 60TXi is definitely higher quality and better sounding. Even a better value now that you can grab a pair on sale.
      Definitely another choice worth considering Mr. B. 👍

      @@kingtrance307 You're correct, the Motion 60TXi was my first consideration but could not afford them at the time so I went with the Emotiva's which I thought would be similar. Not a bad sounding speaker, I would have returned them but it would have cost too much to ship back.

      What are you powering yours with? How many watts RMS?

    • @HomeTheaterHobbyist
      @HomeTheaterHobbyist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't heard those Polk's but I think the smooth mid-range performance and bass depth will be noticeable. Make sure you have an amplifier can output at least 100Watts into 4ohms as that is the Emotiva recommended power output. Enjoy! 😁

    • @jasonpritchett7145
      @jasonpritchett7145 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh hey big guy :)
      Well I’m fortunate enough to have bought a XPA-3 and XPA-5 Gen 2, several years ago. I believe they output 330watts RMS @ 4 ohms. So they should have plenty of power. I just inspected my polks the other day and 5 of the 7 tweeters of my system have blown. Hoping I have better luck with the ribbon tweeters

    • @sayerseely3195
      @sayerseely3195 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonpritchett7145 I'm using an XPA-5 to run T3+ pair, C3+, and T2+ as rears, in a 5.2.4 setup. Plenty of power, never feels strained, not even slightly.

    On your sound review, compare them to you old Klipsch. I know what those sound like. Comment on the punch and compare. Also comment on the Ribbon Tweeter, what you think. I liked everything i read about ribbon tweeters and thought it sounded perfect. I tried the Martin Logan with the ribbon tweeter and didn't like it so i returned the Motion 60's. I ended up with the B&W 702 S2. They don't have much punch but better uppers.

    Not that I'm going to buy these, but I'm curious about a few things. W/ 3, 8" woofers, I wonder if a basic Yamaha home theater receiver w/ 100 watts/channel @ 8ohms (amp rated at 4 ohms - 8 ohms) could cope w/ these speakers. They appear to be power hungry and I wonder if a regular amp can power them while also having a bunch of surround and atmos channels. Second, the 4ohm rating might be an issue as I'm sure the resistance occasionally goes lower than that, which would sap a basic amp (either for stereo music or home theater) down to the bone. Third, for your upcoming review, please talk about quality and not just volume/power. Does the midrange come out? Do the high frequencies pierce through the potentially loud bass? Do the woofers put out good, subtle bass at low volumes? How do the woofers perform when paired w/ a high quality sub and crossed over at the amp at 80hz? What about multi-channel stereo, as in 7 channels equally playing? A good test is the music, "CYMATICS: Science Vs. Music - Nigel Stanford." That has awesome sound effects and punchy bass.

      emotiva on their webpage suggested minimum power requirements for these to drive..it was 120 watts...but thats minimum. to run them nicely with no lack in dynamic i would say you need around 300 watts per channel (4ohms).

    • @ramonbmovies
      @ramonbmovies 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jurynalivaiko4718 Ouch. Even 120 watts is high. So it sounds like you'd need an external amp.

      @@ramonbmovies sorry my bad, 20 watts less..it was 100 watts of minimum recommended amplifying power. 120 watts i took from memory, but it was from another reviewer of these big boys th-cam.com/video/WhcuJIm_MVc/w-d-xo.html At 11:35 he speaks about difference in sonic performance powering them with less capable amp - 120 or 125 watts per channel one...and he was disappointed in a way in, cause sonic differences were audible between this and the amp which was powering them before and gave 450+ watts per channel @4ohms
