This guide isnt extremely detailed for each weapon, kinda just the basics. In the next months i will upload more detailed weapon guides covering a single weapon in each. For most new players I’d recommend repeaters if you want to have an optimal weapon, because they do good damage, are pretty easy to use generally, and are the best weapons at getting part breaks, which are very important for new players who have to do a LOT of part farming.
Repeaters are not really good for new players. The weapons give players the illusion that you can kill behemoths from far away when you actually have to be up close to deal any real damage. Not to mention the weird FOV with your weapon drawn where the camera moves down when you want to aim at high parts and your character model obscuring your screen so it is very hard to see what the behemoth is doing and thus learning its patterns. I would say the war pike is better suited for new players. It has very simple attacks and even without a fully geared slayer you will be very useful for the team because you can very easily interrupt behemoths with spamming Harvesting Attacks or Sprint Stab and you can buff other slayers 30% crit chance with Savage Wellspring special.
@@Czesnek i get your point but i’m going to have to disagree, the repeaters themselves make it very clear that they require you to be closer to do more damage, both with the reload mechanic and with the damage falloff. They allow for much more freedom of movement because of their non existent endlag, much like chain blades, but are much better at targeting parts than chainblades, because with repeaters you quite literally just point and shoot.
overall great video, I'll just mention a few nitpicks I had while watching 1) you've described the Strikers rotation correctly, but then proceeded to use it the wrong way. If you use your Special right after a combo, it'll skip out on some of the recovery frames; the longer the animation, the more time you'll end up saving. This means that Karma Breaker should always end up on LHH, and Clap/ Bolt should always end up on HHH for optimal usage (in almost all of your clips, HHH was the first combo you used) 2) Axe was great, but it feels like a missed opportunity to not mention Grim Onslaught, it's literally one of the reasons why people main the weapon~ 3) Chainblades should only start using LLLHL once they've unlocked the Hurricane Blades mod, till then HHH is a straight up safer and better DPS alternative. Also, it feels like you didn't put enough emphasis into the avoidance of Sp+L; a large part of CBs' DPS comes from using their Sp+H at 4 momentum stacks, without this knowledge people might get the wrong impression of the weapon and look into maining others because of their 'slow clear speed'~ 4) Sword should stay away from using it's HLH combo; outside of Trials it won't get enough usage to be better than LLH. Again, overall really happy what you did here, proper guides are lacking for the community on all front so I'm hoping you can fill that space. Stay awesome
I think it will ve pretty good to also break this video into 7 other smaller TH-cam video parts for people that are only interested in a specific weapon
Hey captain, wanted to ask when should i use builds and when should i just stick to using a full set of armor.im not in endgame but even after trying to use builds with correct cells, i seem to die alot and i cant beat monsters on my own. tried combining boreas/Skraev armor with hellion weapons but its no use
Full sets are never good. Elemental resist is pretty much meaningless due to how resist and elemental resist works (basically elemental resist is half as effective as normal resist) With more dmg you kill behemoths faster, so less time for mistakes. When fighting behemoths as a new player, try to fight them max 2 lvl above you, else it will be pretty hard. I recommend joining the Official Discord, where you can get instant feedback, help and we can see whats the problem
My problem right now in dauntless is that I cant find MY weapon, my friend all have one weapon that they main but for me none of them feel exactly right so I spend my time grinding for different weapons instead of one
It's alright most players end up using all the weapons to get the slayer path fully unlocked anyway (the only one I don't really use is axe sorry axe users)
Hp dmg perks also increase part dmg. Usually you can break 3-4 parts on every behemoth. If you still having problems with parts, then use sharpened instead overpower or the weakest perk in the build. You can find the list of the builds on the Official Discord or in the description of the video
Hey I have a request would it be possible for you to give out ideas for heroic escalation builds mainly for repeaters because it's extremely different for 10-50s there if I go for nothing but dps and out damage the bahemoths I win easily but heroic is another story and I have no idea how or where to start especially since would like to get it done on my repeaters
Usually bastion shield gives enough sustain to survive big hits. Since lifesteal was removed, use parasitic. For lantern i prefer koshai, since its not just lifesteal, but also a dodge / gapcloser. And use potions (and catalyst) If it wasnt too helpful, join the Official Dauntless discord, its easier to discuss things there

I played repeaters all the way up until recently and I way suck at dodging now. 😭
