  • John Scofield is one of the world's most influential jazz guitarists.
Over his four-decade career, John has released 40+ albums as a leader or co-leader, and has played with everyone from Miles Davis to Charles Mingus to Gerry Mulligan to Gary Burton to Phil Lesh to Warren Haynes. That's just a small sampling.
Jarrett Bellini met up with John at The Georgian Terrace hotel in Atlanta to discuss luck, digital music, drugs, sobriety, and more.

what a wonderful interview! I have followed John since A Go Go and have seen him live three times. I would love an opportunity to sit down with him and talk about his career.

I'm going to look for the CD "Country for old men" fall 2016 and visit the BIM huis Amsterdam end october 2016. My first John Scofield album I bought was "Still warm" I think it was somewhere in 1988. After that "Blue matter" "Loud Jazz" "the Ray Charles album" "Works for me" and so on. Great music great sound. Will I be a fan forever.......

Nice one - the idea of random questions on a postcard works well and you listen actively.
John Scofield is warm, engaging, personable; just like his playing, basically.

Great video. Relaxed but very well done, very cool and interesting. Great questions and format. Pretty Inspiring actually. Great musicians are great even when they are just talking about music and life. Thanks much! Sco is the man!

John is a very approachable humble guy but I had to laugh when he said he was a little paranoid about his hands. I shook hands with him after a show in 2001 and he crushed mine! 😂
