Thanks for another great update, Heath. I place a Kino order every other week and am always satisfied. Always a good time with Kino! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, Heath and family. Thanks for all your hard work. I have a soft, nostalgic spot for Hatari, but I have to admit that I haven’t watched my DVD copy in years.
Kino Lorber has become my favorite distributor, their 1080P blus are great. I buy lots of 70s and 80s movies that found a home on HBO in the early days and may not find home on 4k, but even if they do the blus I am happy with. This last holiday sale only 1 movie wasn't Kino Lorber , this year I think 10 of the maybe 12 movies I bought were Kino Lorber. Quality is great, price is good, sure the extras are bare to non existent at time but the movie is most important.
I’ve not seen that Dorris Day western, but I’m intrigued now. Love seeing you show off the new releases, don’t let the sad commentators get you down. You’re doing the good work!
Thanks for demonstrating how to pronounce David Twohy! P.S. one of my favourites things about you is that you explain some things about the movies, and tell your little anecdotes etc. This is why I watch you and almost no other film collectors.
I love HATARI! And, yes, Spielberg is on record that much of LOST WORLD is an homage to HATARI! Also, John Carpenter, who homages Howard Hawks in almost all his movies lifts a moment from HATARI! to homage in one of his movies. For a bright, shining No Prize name the moment and where in Carpenter's filmography does he use it?
It's been years since I've seen Monte Walsh but i remember liking it. I watched The Killer is Loose within the last few years and liked it a lot. I love those old crime movies from that time period.
How dare you say I cant say "How dare you?!?!?" I usually refer to Doris Day as a "wholesome smokeshow" mainly based on how attractive she is in the movie The Glass Bottom Boat. Happy holidays, I hope Santa brings you a whole bunch more sleeves so you can save some space.😂
Internal Internal Affairs is a great movie the Beast Within (1982) is quite good fun with some cool practical effects and I like Sho Kosugi's Prey for death and Rage Of Honor is also not bad either. Awesome stack of new releases you have there 👍
I love Hatari and thats the one im most excited to see on 4K from this video. I also hope that they release Donovan's Reef soon because that movie is stuck on dvd.
As usual, fun, great review of KL titles. Although it seems like a big percentage of these are re-releases. fwiw, Mark Evanier worked for Marvelmania, as editor of the magazine. It was Marvel's fan club, run by an entrepreneur in California. I don't think he ever wrote for Marvel comics, until Groo was published by Epic / Marvel in the mid-80's. (And that was free from Marvel editorial.)
I haven't watched Internal Affairs, but I would like to watch it at some point. The last Richard Gere movie that I watched was Unfaithful with Diane Lane. I think I watched Snake Eyes a long time ago. To be honest, it was decent at best. The main standout is Nicholas Cage's performance, which is really good. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold up well when compared to other Nicholas Cage films such as, 8MM, The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off, Gone In 60 Seconds, and Leaving Las Vegas. I appreciate it for what it is, but it isn't one of Brian De Palma's best movies, unfortunately. I much prefer Scarface, Femme Fatale, The Black Dhalia, Carlito's Way, and The Untouchables. Otherwise, thanks, Heath! As always, I really appreciate the hard work, dedication, and passion! Keep it up! Merry Christmas! God bless and stay safe!
I order from them every other week. Discs always arrive within 3-5 days. Only once had an issue - accidently sent me two copies of the same disc. Had my refund in my account within the week. Everything l have ordered has been highest quality. No issues with discs whatsoever.
@@StellarStation214 They refuse to ship things properly. Lots of damages and then their Customer Service is abominable. I honestly don't know how they are still in business,
The Bob Hope Bing Crosby Road Pictures are an entertaining look at a moment in time 1940-1962
The monthly Kino spotlight is the highlight of my month on TH-cam. Happy Christmas! 🎄
I second the love for Hatari! What a great adventure film. One of Hawks' best.
3:42 Richard Gere not Nicholas Cage
Happy Holidays, Heath! Thanks for keeping us informed about physical media all year!

Yes! Monte Walsh is outstanding!

Absolutely my favorite label for 4K Dolby Vision, and they are keeping the commentary track alive, while Criterion seems to have forgotten about them.

I actually like the design of the Capra set. It shouts that it is meant to be displayed separately. It says “look at me!”
It's shouting at me "Where the hell are you going to put me?!?!”
Good info thanks👍
Snake eyes is really cool, apart from a somewhat generic ending. Looking forward to the upgrade.

The Beast with-in....My mom took me to see this and enjoyed it...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love Hatari. Great film.
Great episode as usual; Heath, merry Christmas to you and your family!

Oh, Road to Zanzibar is weirdly fun. VERY outdated now. Hatari! YAY! I need to pick that one up.
I got road to Morocco brand new at Salvation army thrift store.
What a stroke of luck!
The film the beast within was on Mgm midnight movies double feature.
How dare you say I cant say "How dare you?!?!?"

I love Road to Hong Kong but it needs to be Colorized. It should never have been shot in Black and White.
Is that Road to boxset region free?! I NEED IT!

Road to hong kong. Peter Sellers stole that scene from Bob Hope and Bing Crosby. 😂
Nicholas Cage in Internal Affairs? Haven't seen that movie.
I am done with Kino. Horrible company. Not worth the headache.
What were your primary complaints? I have never purchased from the company, I am just curious.
