what i’m confused with is why then was it written in the 10 commandments to worship only 1 God. It was consistent throughout the bible that the belief was monotheistic since the beginning right?

You could have shortened this to - "patriarchal takeover", but your versions better 👍

Daniel, on a separate topic, I've been seeing posts about a prophecy in Ezekiel 47 regarding the Dead Sea being restored, coming to pass at present. Do you know anything about this?

I don't know about this, but I'll have to look into it.

I'm new to your channel, and appreciate your expertise. I understand that you attempt to not relay your faith into your teaching, and I can appreciate that position, but it does make some things confusing. It seems that you are attempting to advocate for believing in a system based on the non monotheistic period of the first temple (I also understand that you are a stickler for jargon, and I lack the training to be technically correct, please forgive me and I hope you can follow my point.) If that is the case, then would it be correct in saying that you would find Asherah worship acceptable? If not, then can you explain your actual position. I am not asking you to provide guidance, and appreciate that you would be hesitant to do so, but I believe that understanding some of your theology would increase our understanding of the "why" of your work.
    Thank you

Wasn’t the Ugarit civilization destroyed way before the Israelites reached Canaan? Also the oldest Egyptian mention of Yahweh doesn’t include Asherah , like it was hundreds of years later in other inscriptions.
The kuntillet ajrud inscriptions makes a distinction between Yahweh and El.
I’ve heard people try to link Yahweh and El as the same deity, but none of the Ugarit texts ever mention Yahweh.
There is also debate about the reference to Asherah , some scholars don’t agree that it should say Yahweh and His Asherah.
    What are you’re thoughts?
