Now that the new MBP's are out, should I still consider getting this as my main dock, or wait for a Thunderbolt 4 version/something designed around the new chips? Or wait for the thunderbolt 4, so that this is cheaper and still get it because it pretty much already does everything i'd need?
I'll be able to manage without a dock for a while, but want to build a nice desktop setup, as this will be my only desktop setup.
    Thanks!

I have this dock as well. However, it has it's limitations when it comes to having multiple monitors.

I'm trying to connect my Sony Handicam to my M1 iMac and I'm not sure if I need extra adapters. I do have iEEE1394 firewire and Thunderbolt to firewire adapter. Do I still need a thunderbolt 3 adapter?

You will need something like an Elgato Camlink.

@@EllenDean Oh sorry, when you said handycam, throught you wanted to use it as a webcam. I'm not too sure how Firewire works with Thunderbolt, never tested it. I'm assuming it wouldn't work well as they're completely different standards.

@@Vancouver-Real-Estate No problem. I thought when the Thunderbolt cable went from computer to Caldigit there might be a way to connect firewire to Caldigit without having a Thunderbolt adapter as well.

Hi Jacob. Well, I'm on 11.3, which is fresh out, on my Mac Mini M1. I've lost resolution from a faulty system where I have three monitors. Two DisplayPorts come out of my Plugable unit, and 11.3 has stolen my resolution from my left monitor. My centre monitor is HDMI direct to the Mini itself.
Any chance you know what kind of output is achieved on this unit under 11.3? I desperately in need of running these three monitors at the resolution I want. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi BeeRich, welcome to the channel. It seems there are so many display issues still happening. I can't really answer your question because i recently switched to a Plugable unit myself in a search to find a dock with the lease amount of issues with displays. I'm just hoping there are some fixes through software in the coming weeks.

is it ok to keep it plugged to the MacBook m1 all time. I mean does it damage the battery if u keep it plugged even it is 100%?

Hi and welcome to the channel. I think it's fine to keep in plugged in. I know there were some issues with the new M1 Macs getting damaged being connected to third-party docks. This has supposedly been fixed with one of the latest software updates.
