I do declare, Mickey Hart has got to be one of the most interesting people/musicians in America/the world. What an epic legacy he will leave when he finally passes into Eternity: all the drummers he has inspired, all the instruments he has collected and donated and all the cultures he has documented…not to mention his collaboration with a particular rock band. Mickey is the Man!

I'm a 68 year old man and most of the Playing For Change videos make me cry, especially the ones with children smiling and dancing...the joy overwhelms me no matter how many times I've seen it.
Around 25 years ago I had the honour of attending the Planet Drums concert in Dubai. Also got the programme book autographed by the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain!! Have not forgotten the experience, out of this world!!

@@mariarusso1325 I'm not on TH-cam everyday, but most days. I do live in Southern California, now in Desert Hot Springs by Palm springs. I moved from Arrow Head last year. Snow was getting too cold on my joints.
I could listen to music like this all day. I LOVE drums and percussion 🥁. Sending a positive message on top of that, it doesn’t get much better than that. Much love and respect from Germany ❤
Very cool. Reminds me of a program I saw back in the '90's. An African dance group and an Irish dance group got together. They each did traditional dances but the last half was the two combined doing a mix of the two as well as each doing their own but together on stage. The one common thread through all of the program was the drumming. The African drums and Irish drums (including several Bodhran) kept a similar rhythm. A great reminder that the rhythm is so in our souls and the only differences are what makes it.
When the world can be beautifully connected and united by the sheer authenticity of varying drum beats, why try to divide people with race, religion etc I wonder! The human race was born to be one. Born to work together towards greatness! What an experience these drummers have given us! Bravo!
