One of the most sublime duets. Graham and Kunde are unsurpassed.

One of the most beautiful duets in opera, sung wonderfully by Susan and Gregory .

Has this ever been sung more beautifully? What exquisite staging for this entire production!
This must be one of the finest performances of just about anything, ever!

Magnificient! Susan Graham is made for this role: she was sublime at the MET with Hymel.

I heard Susan Graham for the first time about 6 years ago. I have tried to "catch up" with her discography...I have never been disappointed. I wonder at an explanation from anyone who has one....why her name is NOT early to the lips of anyone discussing current "great voices". Certainly there are other American-born "stars" at the Met who are regularly given greater billing and who one might have "heard of" before Susan Graham and yet those of whom I think, lack much on every account of what she seems to have in reserves. Is she more given to stage fright? Unwilling to risk certain roles? Hates to fly? Explanations, please....

I cannot imagine anyone doing this more beautifully than Graham. I second your question. Her name should be celebrated more, certainly among American singers. Fleming far over rated. Graham underrated.

And no one thinks to mention the conductor and orchestra: John Eliot Gardiner and his Orchestre Révolutionaire et Romantique... 🙂
