    So, my husband has Alpha-gal and he is allergic to red meat. It's spread by ticks. He enjoyed the Whopper and was pretty excited to get one, he hasn't had one in 6 years.

      Same here! So glad to have a meat like option at a fast food restaurant. A person can eat chicken and fish only so often.

      That is so great. I heard of that tick disease. Maybe they can cure it someday, but it is a good thing that vegan food is starting to taste like the real thing. It’s great that vegans and meat lovers who can no longer eat real meat get to have more options nowadays.

    The "mhm's" are the Emmy equivalent of the southern "bless your heart". Might be a good thing, might mean disaster. You just don't know. I love it.

    • @aerialrose

      Not really, in this case. It was clear she loved the Impossible Whopper, and it was a very positive response. "Bless your heart" in Southern language translates to, "You're an idiot." Not the same analogy at all.

      T Brown oh I can totally tell the difference in her “mhm’s”. When it’s high pitched, she LOVES it. A low pitched “mhm” and her semi-twisted face says it all! 😹 what I love about Emmy is that even though it may be gross, she’ll still have another bite. She’s awesome! The company has said they want to offer it in grocery stores just like ground beef. They are hoping in having the ability to make such large batches would bring the cost per pound to be very close to beef. The difference carbon footprint wise is HUGE! I would be on the band wagon for Impossible over beef if they really can match the price. I want to make tacos with it so badly! :)

I enjoyed it but if you're a meat eater, there's a definite taste difference. The Impossible burger is good but I knew right away I'm eating a veggie burger because of the texture of the patty. Then there's the actual taste and if I give the regular Whopper a 10 then the Impossible Whopper is more like a 7. It's close but not quite the same. It's great for vegetarians who doesn't eat meat and for those that can't eat too much red meat.

It's trippy to think meat substitutes we're pushed faster than milk-substitute-milkshakes considering about 65% percent of people have some difficulty digesting lactose while only around 2% of people (in the US) identify as vegetarian. Since that's the case you'd bet there'd be more demand for lactose-free milkshakes.

I didn't have a beef whopper to compare it to and obviously I knew what it was and was picking out anything that seemed off as a result, but I think you could give it to a lot of people and they would assume it was beef if they didn't have any reason to suspect something was up.

My conclusion was that it has a distinctive nut-like taste, like there are peanuts or something in it. (Maybe that’s the soy flavor that Emmy speaks of). It was off-putting enough that I’m not going to go out of my way to buy it again since I don’t have any objections to meat. I cut the sandwiches into slices and shared with my teenage kids and they had about the same opinion on the taste, except that my daughter would buy it as she is a wannabe vegan. I'm glad you were at least open to doing the comparison, and maybe your daughter *is* a wannabe vegan - but it might surprise you the things you later find out. Otherwise, I do think this is a great promotion - my local BK had zero promotions for it outside the store so I was worried they wouldn't have it when I went in. BKs service was really shitty that day, half hour wait, filthy restaurant, etc. When i finally got my burger, they messed up my dogs hamburgers, fries were cold, two frops of ketchup and mustard on my burger and no mustard packets available, nor pepper packets! Had to return to counter five times! So when i opened my burger to check it and fix it up, i swore it was meat! I even tore off a piece of my dogs hamburger and compared it visually and tasted each (first time putting meat to my lips in over 30 years! Gross) They were identical! Even asked a stranger to show me their Impossible whopper for comparison before id eat another bite! Luckily Emmys comparison made me feel better that i did actually get an impossible patty, cuz mine was definitely perfectly round like hers was! I'll stick with the Beyond burger at carls jr! Much better and non- gmo, also not tested on animals! I felt the beyond burger just tasted more like a juicy, flavorful, deluxe burger and the impossible was a nasty, dried out gross tasting burger just like the whopper and most other fast food hamburgers! Plus i had to buy TWO cheap hamburgers, (for my dog) at twice the price of one carls jr hamburger because they are half the size! And BK was just dirty and lousy service compared to Carls jr!

      I get the junior whopper, it's about the same size as a McDonald's hamburger, so it's plenty for me. I think you get better value at Burger King than you do McDonald's, McDonald's has become too expensive. Unfortunately there aren't as many Burger Kings around as there are McDonald's though.

      @adamisbigdaddy 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ethanheston3395 well as a matter of fact not all ketchup is vegan! You should try to educate yourself a bit. It depends on if they eat refined sugar or not. I am educated on this very very well as my one daughter and 2 of my sons are vegan. And I absolutely need to know what on our menu is vegan. Being I own the place. Most vegans will ask you straight out what type you have how long have you been serving it. And what other options you may have open to them if you don't have a particular vegan product . I also serve Vegenaise as well as the 2 different types of ketchup. As Burger King claims to have vegan buns but the do little for cross contamination. Most of the items that a fast food restaurants put out are lies. I hope when our BK reopens after the new one is built that they hire all new works. Because they are known for making people sick or outright lying about what's what! My other daughter worked at one and they put everything on the same grill. I've personally watched them cook the veggies patties pretty much in the hamburger grease and the buns are sitting on the grill right next to it. So by a true vegans standards NOTHING is vegan at Burger King!
