  • 'Take It From Here' was one of the most popular radio series of the 1950s, written by the excellent team of Frank Muir and Denis Norden and starring Dick Bentley, Jimmy Edwards and June Whifield in her first starring role.
A regular part of the show was 'The Glums', presenting a dysfunctional family with Jimmy Edwards as the bibulous and irresponsible Mr. Glum, Dick Bentley as Ron, his dim-witted son, and June Whitfield as Ron's fiancée Eth. This segment is a flashback to Ron and Eth's first meeting.
With Wallas Eaton,The Keynotes, and The BBC Revue Orchestra, conductor, Harry Rabinowitz. Script by Frank Muir and Denis Norden. Produced by Charles Maxwell.

Oh it was great to hear that programme again, I used to love that show, when I was in my mid teens, and listened to it, early on Sunday evenings.

Messrs Muir and Morden were such clever writers.
