The Academy held its annual Investiture Ceremony at the Library of Congress on Nov. 8, 2023.
Sir Salman Rushdie was awarded the Robert J. Zimmer Medal for Intellectual Freedom at the Academy's 2023 Investiture Ceremony at the Library of Congress on Nov. 8, 2023. Sir Salman was interviewed by Bernard Haykel of Princeton University about his work as a novelist and his uncompromising stand for freedom of thought.
