I agree that AKL is better overall. Two feature pools, more art, cultural ambassadors and, of course, animals. And looking at the lobby from the Massai Bridge is really special. But I do like some things better at WL. I like that you can find things in several directions. There's more nooks. AKL is a big horseshoe shape to accommodate the savannas. WL is also prettier on the outside. The lobbies are about equally beautiful. I hope you'll stay at both soon. Thanks for your video!

Hey thanks for the comment. :)
Yea I really loved both, but somehow we just felt more excited at AKL. Probably just because we love animals so much.
Will be booking soon for sure!

@@worldschoolmanatees AKL is for sure more exciting! Authentic art in both resorts, but much more at ALK. And of course the animals.

The AKL is on a different level and feel. The WL is also great and has it's own feeling as well. AKL is our favorite but the WL A of a close 2nd and possibly 1st as well because of so much nature around it that feels so different and it's closer to the MK. LOVe being able to take the boats. I guess it's all about what you plan on doing. If not doing the parks, the AKL is a great choice.

      I love the boats too!
Yea I think this will definitely be for a resort only trip versus a park trip. Which is crazy, because the parks use to be all we did.

Have you stayed at either or both?

I've stayed in both. Mostly AKL because I'm a DVC owner there. I think it's a great home resort--low points chart, magical and unique environment. People complain about the travel to the parks, but it's really not too bad.

@nycp1969 the travel was a concern for me too because bus is my least favorite option, but I think we would be spending a ton more time at the resort. So it evens out.
How do you like the DVC? I feel like we go too often to take proper advantage of it, but I remain curious.

@@worldschoolmanatees I personally don't think WL is so great for transport. Yes, the boat ride is fun and relatively fast, but it only goes to one park. The AKL busses are reported to be faster than the other remote DVCs--Old Key West and Saratoga Springs , which have long internal routes. AKL transport is not a deterent to me.
DVC was a great idea for me. I live in South Florida and I'll be retired in a few years so I'll have full flexibility. This is a great time to buy in. I would never pay the cash rate for deluxe accommodations, so this is a way to get them for a relative bargain. Once you determine your break even point (people use various criteria for that) you're staying for the cost of your dues. You seem to have a young family. It could work for you if you go to WDW at least once a year and appreciate the deluxe resorts.

@nycp1969 that's true, just slow boat to the Magic Kingdom 🤣
Sounds like you have a good plan in place. That's awesome. We would like to stay at the resorts a couple times a year for sure.
