This is crazy! The amount of black women I'm seeing on TH-cam with hair this length. 4/b,c at that. If it wasn't for TH-cam I'd have NO idea. The first time I thought it was possible was my early teens. My best friend, her mom, aunty, sister and cousins hair were ALL to mid back and past. And they weren't mixed. They all were deep dark GORGEOUS compexions. It blew my mind because I never seen it. My family has quite a mixture of tones of black but on the lighter side to extremely pale. Our hair is maybe 4/a to b but our hair has never grew the length of my friends family. I now know it's because they took the time to give their hair TLC. My family full of gorgeous women, we're a tad bit more rough and rugged and didn't spend the time to tend to hair care as my friends family. You now see my family over the years giving more feminine care and love to ourselves so the length is there. But no one has 4/c. I'm seeing 4/c hair on TH-cam straight showin out and clowinin!! 😘❤I'm all eyes and ears!!👀

After realising I could wash my hair in twists, I've never turned back🤗
Anyways, I still use petroleum products and a sulphate clenser (along with a the creme of nature sulphate free shampoo that has been a great aid in detangling) in my hair routine. I almost exclusively use a hot oil treatment prior to washing to help with detangling as well.
I used to condition before deep conditioning but I found it too hectic so that step was scrapped😋
Lastly, thank you for your amazing videos. I started using the trick of adding castor oil to my ends(when I remember ofcourse). It really helps.

As soon as water touches my hair the twist come out. I do prepoo and detangle before hand. What I've found is that there is too much manipulation if I aim to keep the twists in throughout the wash process. So now I start with my hair out detangled and only twist It at the D/C stage. One twist session = Less manipulation for me.

lollll.... You'll likely never be able to avoid SSKs completely but you can minimise them. Cutting of that amount likely got the majority of them. Now you can focus on changing your behaviour so you don't create more. Check out my video on SSks and incorporate those tips, plus the end-wrapping technique I've shown in this video to mitigate their formation. You don't necessarily need to cut all your hair off!

As usual, informative and to the point. Thank you. Yes I do wrap my ends to prevent knotting and it makes all the difference in the world. I think it would save you time and oil if you used a bottle instead of a bowl during the oil rinsing part.

@@NaturallyHigh no sometimes I wash with a homemade shampoo after prepooing. It's a mix of a gentle non toxic bar soap melted into some water jojoba oil and avocado oil. Applied with an applicator bottle to very lose twists. I fully wash and condition each section before moving on to the next one. I do it once a month or once every 2 months. Just depends. I tried the clay wash but I literally felt like my hair was gunky and dirty each time I tried it.

I really enjoyed watching your video . I've been natural for 7yrs and I want length just like yours. My wash days are similar to yours but I leave a hair mask on it for two days then wash out on the 3rd day but I'm going to start using all natural products for my shampoo and conditioner (I'll be making it bc I already make my own hair mask) I love your wash day routine tho

I keep trying to tell people to stop thinking that you need to be mixed or have genes for long hair. I know that this is her page and all of that, but if you go to a fellow TH-camr that I like, her name is Eugenia Kelcy, she states that her hair is long because she takes care of it. No one else in her family has hair like the length of hers.
It's so empowering to see women like this with long hair. All of that “Black women are all bald” and “black women can't grow long hair” stuff needs to end.
You go sis! I'm going to subscribe cause I love women with my hair type with long hair.

Where have you been??? I really missed you...
I trust that you have been doing great though.
I have a question for you I had been doing the clumping method, and really enjoyed rocking it with different styles, but I noticed that during takedown and detangling process for washing I normally end up with a lot of shed hairs than normal. So I stopped it to find out what could possibly be wrong. What I do now is take down my twist, detangle, wash and retwist. I haven't done it since December, and I kind of miss it.
