    Mikey, I’m retired and watch a lot of you-tube fishing videos by pros and local big sticks. I have been watching you for several years now and you are the very best! I’m not just blowing smoke…my only problem is that I live in NORTHERN California and except for the Delta and Clearlake, our deep clear reservoirs dominate. I wish you take a trip out here and stay awhile. Fish Lake Berryessa, New Melones, Don Pedro, Commanche, McClure, Lake Sonoma, Lake Tulloch, Bullards Bar, ….so many good lakes. …. Think about it please.

    • @ricksonora6656
      @ricksonora6656 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bank fish* New Melones. (* ”Bank cast” would be more accurate. I’d have to catch fish to call it fishing.) I wish there were some TH-cam channels focused on our highland lakes. The conditions are radically different.

    Love those heads mikey , I used them this year in March with 3.8 Keitechs in upper gville below Nickajack dam and caught several spots over 3 and 2 smallies over 5 . Those hooks are sticky !!!! You need to head up towards the dam in March ! Some big smallmouth 👍🏻

    I am a true believe in the Keitech but I haven't been getting bit great with it so switched to a Spark Shad and am on an absolute monster bite, once the water drops below 50 I think I'll be switching back. Thanks for the tips and you are right it's just a fun way to consistently put fish in the boat!

    I want to try one of the finesse under spin jig heads I typically fish for walleye pike and musky in my river but you can’t beat a jig and swim bait for the walleye and the under spin should attract strikes the river is pretty murky

    I'm a big fan of that Okashira screw head. Everything from crappie to bass, even walleye like them. Good stuff. I have a couple A-rigs, rigged up with Okashira's as well. It seems to set them apart on days when they're turned on to A-rigs, those O.S.H. seem to give you even more drawing power!

    I recently found some swimbaits that are very similar to Keitech swimbaits at my local Ollie's. They're from Eco Tungsten and they're called Swing Shad. I gotta say, for less than half the price of a Keitech, these things are really good! Maybe not quite as soft, but still very good. They catch fish! So I looked those things up and found that they have a really good rating on Tackle Warehouse.

    If you want to get a better plastic to the back of the head fit, buy some brass tubing to match the rear head ark dia., and file it sharp around the circumference, then punch down/trim into the more convex plastic head, perfect lead head to plastic fit. You'll need one sharpened brass tube for each size jig head.

    You are the coolest Tuber. Puzzeling because you drive boat in excess of 100k and use a $79. spinning reel? my average rod combo is over $1,000. some close to $1,500. to me the experience of casting and reeling high end equipment is as fun as actually catching a fish. Different strokes for different folks. thanks for the great swimbait lessons. my number 1 bait year round is a custom made underspin for 2.8 keitechs. been using for many many years. unfortunately, the gig is up companies now actually make them. you gave up the juice

      wish my boat was worth that much! that's the thing, i picked kind of a budget boat and i do the same with fishing reels when possible. would love to have super high end gear but life's about trade offs right. what setup do you have that averages over 1500? tough to beat that keitech on an underspin or a finesse ball head - catches them anywhere and everywhere!

But I also have luck with the Berkley fusion one. Up here in Maryland Mikey are use the blue gill flash are use the sexy shed and the electric shed and once in a while, the red and blue pearl and all white and be honest with you I’ve been buying contacts since they first came out when they were in the bags not in the nice hard plastic that keeps it tails all nice and you’re right I use two and three Ott hooks and my biggest thing has always been using them with a road runner, underbelly spin and I smash them if you want to go to my Instagram page leave me a thing so you can follow me a request and I’ll send you videos of doing a challenge for myself not worried about making any money or being sponsored. I love catching fish and the biggest thing that got me into fission. What is the way that these lures maneuver through the water and that they were not real and Bass was chasing and committing and there’s nothing like a keitech on a trailer specially, a swim jig I just wish I could afford better technology. I have HDS seven that I had for the past 56 years and I think I might be due for a new screen. I have a structural scan box, and supposedly I can hook another monitor into it. I have a big 1 foot transducer plate, a hockey puck type sonar for my front motor and some type a little skipper.
