In part 1 we looked at attaching elastic on the serger with the elastic foot. In part-two, this tip clip, we will use the Quartering Method on the serger to attach the elastic.
Hi Janet-yes, you can lock the blade, but I'm not a big fan of locking the blade in overlock mode. If someone isn’t experienced with sergers, it’s very easy to allow fabric to wander too far to the right and potentially get tangled in the loopers. For those of us who have a coverstitch/chain stitch function, could we use a chain stitch when we fold over the elasticized edge instead of using the sewing machine?
Hi Denese, Yes, definitely you can use the chain stitch after folding over the elastic. The chain stitch has enough built-in stretch to work well.
