Endeavor has been my favorite character ever since his fight with the high-end nomu, and has remained on top of that list for a while now. (Potential spoilers ahead) With the manga’s current pacing, I’m afraid I’ll have to say goodbye to a well written character soon :’)

When you think about it, Endeavor was honing his quirk like the vestiges of OFA. He sought to create a quirk that can utilize the full extent of his fire abilities. He was held back by overheating. Rei's family because the spent generations perfecting their ice quirk until their fall. It makes sense why AFO was praising him when they fought the second time. Dude even had his son as a target.

You know, I still hate Endeavor's guts, I honestly don't see that changing. Even when it comes to atoning I'd say he leaves a lot to be desired. But that being said, despite myself, OH MY GOD THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!
I think his final atonement will be if he dies saving his children, to show Shoto that he really did change for him and his siblings and that he does love them, not as inheritors of his talents, but as his children.
