I'm so excited because I just discovered a local yarn shop near me! I had no idea it was there. At the end of the month they're celebrating LYS day, and I plan to be there! It's called One More Row in Woodstock GA, and they do knitting AND crochet! Yay!

#3... I'm 4 rows from finishing my "ghost knitter shawl" by Ambah O'Brien.... yes knit, I had accidentally did too many rows, so I mathed & made 9 repeats vs 7... loooong rows, maybe 600+ stitches.
I'm a Russian grandmother taught to knit by her baboonya (Russian grandmother) when I was a child & I have NEVER seen anyone other than the internet "Russian knitting". 🤷🏻♀️
But..... you always do what works for you. 😉

Im so happy for all the cool new things that you have! The spinning accessories are really cool! But, that new dress form is so special! When you said she needs a name, there are 2 'witch' names that come to mind, Hester and Dorcas.
Very far back in my ancestry there was a woman named Hester Dutch, who was arrested as a witch but was never tried. The Witch Trials ended before she could tried. Dorcas is actually a biblical name but during the time of the 'witch era' of the late 1690s, it was a common womans name.🧙♀️🧙

I vote for Esmeralda. Maleficent. Grimhilde (Snow White) Glinda the Good Witch was always a favorite for me too. I think Esmeralda flows the best with Winnifred and Broomhilda though. You’re doing an awesome job on your shawl. I love knitting and just learned how to knit socks and they take forever to finish especially when you find dropped stitches 4 rows down but that didn’t stop me from making socks. I am now hooked on making socks. I ‘m also working on a T_ shirt sweater and enjoying making it. I enjoy watching your pod cast with your wonderful family. 🧶🧶🧶

Oh how I can relate about laundry! We live in an apartment, 5 people, and our laundry is in the kitchen. Our dryer broke a little over a week ago, they replaced the dryer, but now trying to get caught up is a whole other story! Beautiful job on the yarn you spun!

Jen, Love the colors of the crochet top. Matches your current hair color. I am sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better soon. You don't need to always have a tutorial, or a pattern of everything you make. Don't most crocheters just pick up a hook and yarn and see what happens. I do. I've start a shawl for my daughter and the yarn wanted to be sweater with a hood. Did I have a pattern, NO. I love to crochet blankets, but never know when I start what they will look like when finished. I is just what come off the hook!! Hope you have a Great Day!!

Sweetheart, the Laundry Overwhelm is a real thing in so many households! It doesn’t need to be because you’re tall or plus size. As I work fulltime and have severe back issues, I’ve enforced a “you want to wear it, you wash/dry/put it away yourself” rule. It works for my household. Laundry Overwhelm still happens from time to time, but not as often as it did.
Downsizing before a move: last Summer I went through that! Only I didn’t have the tile to pre-downsize. Because I didn’t feel like unpacking a crapload of unnecessary stuff I basically packed what I wanted to keep and bagged what needed to go to charity (used white bags for that) and what needed to get thrown out (used black bags for that). I trucked carload after carload to the recycling centre (I live in Europe, almost everything gets sorted and recycled). Garbage day was the day before the moving truck arrived. I still had sixteen (!!!) bags of trash that wasn’t suitable for recycling sitting at the curb. And my diminutive home wasn’t a messy one. It was just… stuff that tends to accumulate when you’ve been living in one place for a long time.

Edit: about The Malabrigo: this fibre is notorious among spinners for being difficult to draft. There is a cure, next to the obvious solution of pre-drafting: STEAM. Malabrigo Nube will very often be compacted because the braids are stored for a long time before getting to us. Undo the braid, lay it out and give it some steam with an iron, a clothes steamer or even the steam coming out of the spout of an old-fashioned boiling water kettle. You’ll see it swell and bloom, it’s amazing. Allow it to sit for a bit (a few minutes is plenty) and you’re ready to spin. It’s like magic…

When we were kids we used to pinch Rhubarb, gooseberries and all kinds of things from the gardens. Problem was we didn't know when to stop. We got caught out when we had really bad tummy aches or the runs😢😢😢.

Yes, I understand I am downsizing too next weekend. I'll be putting stuff on my front lawn for free. And I've got stuff up for sale right now. We are getting rid of much as we can. We don't need it. We're not gonna die with it so stuff. I haven't used in a year is out the door. Thank you so much for sharing. We need to move this summer. Hopefully, I find an apartment in the next town over. We don't want to be here anymore. They took away the hospital and I have really bad Arthritis now. So I can't carry laundry up-and-down. We're looking for everything on one floor which is pretty hard to find around here. Thank you so much for sharing again

My boyfriend also loves Sushi but will not eat cooked fish, except tuna on occasion. Our first date, he brought me to a sushi restaurant because I LOVE sushi. He was looking at the menu and then looked at me and said “What should I get, I don’t like fish.” It was comical, but that is when he found out that he likes sushi, since I knew what was really good lol. Now every anniversary we celebrate with sushi 😊

I was about your age when they finally figured out I had fibromyalgia. It is no joke! I get where you are with that! A lot of people just don’t get it because there is nothing visible on the outside! You are right! Take it to the laundromat! Just get it all done once and for all! When my boys were little our washer/dryer died and Hubby hauled laundry 30 miles to the laundromat every week! So, I get the love/hate relationship with laundromats!

Hey Jen, I heard my husband listening to a video while we were lying in bed about a drop spindle and I asked why he was watching it and he said he wanted to know what a drop spindle was so all I knew is what I watched from you recently so inshowed him this video and He said your yarn looks beautiful and he wants to learn how to do it. So awesome I wanted to share. I wasn't interested in picking it up but I would be so happy if he started creating unique yarn for me 😅❤❤

Benadryl will help on worst days of allergies I try an take only half though only a couple times a week. And small amounts of vitamins on worst days and I stopped using salt when I cook and I try to drink some water each day, Ive always drank coffee all day but I know I need water. These are just a few things I've realized that's helped me but you know everyone's different though but benadryl will definitely help with allergies 😊

Jenn I understand people who like to tell you how to do it their way. I was in a fancy yarn store in Chestnut Hill in Philly and my friend was telling the owner I don’t crochet right. He looked at her and asked do her projects come out nice? She does it her way! My son said Willow is a good witch name.
Everybody has their own way of knitting or crocheting. You do what is conformable for you. The end results are the same. Each person has their own way of holding hooks and needles and yarns. Just because someone does it differently does not make it wrong.

Hey Jen! That's the best thing about the Laundry mat is that you get a lot done in a short amount of time! Oh that salsa sounds delish! Witch "Hazel" from the Trick or Treat Micky Mouse episode. 🎃 I had a lady tell me one time she was misdiagnosed with Fibromayalgia and her issue ended up being she was ingesting too much asparatame so that might be worth checking into with you being diabetic and using sugar substitutes other fake sweeteners may affect things similarly too. I know you know what you are doing and how to take care of yourself, I tell you this not to tell you what to do, or annoy you at all, but in case I can possibly help you out in some way, especially since you are dealing with pain, if something I can say can help, I just have to! I hope you and your Doc get it figured out soon! Love Hugs and continuous Prayers my friend!

Jen, have you heard of try-on cables for knitting? I haven't used them but heard about them. Found a cable connector kit for interchangeable cables that allows us to attach another cable and stopper, instead of a needle, so we can slide the project off onto the cable and check the fit. Then slide the project back on the original cable and reattach the needle. I know I'm not explaining well....that's why I would never have made a good teacher....but, I'm really curious about these try-on cords or cables. (PS.... Laundromats are wonderful when you're running behind. I could stuff all of our sheets and pillowcases, a few towels etc in one Milnor....POOF! Done!)

I am getting rid of things now again. I moved here four years ago and got rid of lots then. Now, it is time again. I redid my sewing (quilting) room. I put two coats of primer then two coats of paint on walks. I painted two coats on concrete floor then glued vinyl tiles on floor. Moved lots out of bedroom, now to go through items before moving items back to metal shelving units on wheels. So, I understand sorting through possessions. Donating items. Need to do other closets afterwards.
