Just discovered your podcasts. So lovely to see two fun, vibrant knitting women who are closer to my age!😉 I don’t have a sister, but if I did I’d want her to be just like the two of you! I really enjoy your chatty chats and I am always inspired by your beautiful knitted garments and ideas for future projects - so many of them go straight to my Ravelry favorites. I am not nearly as advanced a knitter as you both are, but I’m trying, and loving the process of learning. Just started my first Instagram account too. Trying to teach an old dog new tricks! Keep doing what you do - it brings lots of joy!
I don't get to catch you live, but thoroughly look forward to sitting down to knit and watch you both in the evening. Love your non-knittimg conversations, too.
Love your vest Tracie. You are correct regarding dominant color in your left hand and background in your right. There was an excellent article in, I believe Vogue Knitting magazine with sample swatches showing the difference. Also TH-cam has excellent videos on this. A pattern may not tell you this but it’s just one of those things you do. Thanks for all the giggles. I watch you while I’m exercising, makes my hour go faster and full of entertainment and new things.
The squirrels are awesome running across there. I loved it two of them. I love that last sweater that came up that you said you’re gonna make love love love it. I love the sock yarn. Love the sets
Sending lots of love to your Mum for a speedy recovery! Loved your podcast as always. You both inspire me so much! Enjoy your East Coast cruise ladies!
Hello Traci and Jody! I am late to watching this BUT I am local to Edmonton and I love the idea of a crafting movie night!! I believe the Garneau theatre often organizes different types of movie viewing experiences so that might be a good venue to check out. I would be there for sure!!
Thanks ladies,Traci your vest is perfect ….oo squirrels 🐿️ too cute…..lol so funny to hear you guys getting into sweaters & cool weather…we’ve just started Spring & it’s already 29C! That movie craft night was in Australia 👏🏻
The squirrel first makes its appearance around 6.30 mins into it. It’s running around in the tree and along the fence. I was surprised there wasn’t crazy comments up then!!
I am binge watching you ladies and laughing so much! Have a wonderful cruise! FYI The New Jersey Fibershed Fleece and Yarn Sale is October 27 at the Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton, NJ.
Eek! Can’t believe you called out the WI Sheep and Wool Festival! It’s such a great festival. I’m from Madison and have gone several years. Out of town for it this year. Tracie - your vest is spectacular!
Watched this afternoon, Sunday; much better than football or anything else. Loved everything, as usual. All the travels sound wonderful…you didn’t mention going to Magpie 😮. Kansas could possibly be doable from South Dakota 💛. So many ideas🤷🏼♀️. Loved the purple/ not totally purple yarn and I think it would look great on you, Tracie. Have a fantastic raise . Thanks for stopping by. 💛
Tracie, I also loved the book, the twists and turns were incredibly engaging. Your vest is fabulous! I love your color choices, they are very flattering on you.
I love just love you guys. After a long day of working I love to just knit and chill. Have you thought about a goodreads account? I love seeing what everyone is reading. Stay amazing. All the love.
Loved watching you both and all the knitting goodness, while I'm convalescing at home. Hope Gerri is feeling well, and Congratulations on your Son's engagement, lots to celebrate. xoxo 🤗
OMGoodness, Tracie, you shared my I ❤ Stripes pattern. That was such a happy shock when I heard you share the name then show the picture. Thank you so much. You’ve made my day. 🤗
Jodi, I received my first order of Frankie Grey Fibres yarn. The yarn color is spot on and it feels so good. And the bag and tape measure was such a sweet bonus😊
Happy healing thoughts to Jerri! Jodi, the Beetle Juice Glasses are fabulous, what a cool gift! Traci, I think the fact you are holding the swatch up in front of your blue shirt and colorful vest is contributing to your hesitation on the color. I can see you looking spectacular in medium-grey flannel dress slacks, black shoes, white colored shirt and this vest. Letting the wonderful yarn shine, and showing off that stitch pattern, but toning down the purple factor a bit. You DO look great in this color! Be adventurous, and give it a go! As a vest it won't be all purple. Thanks for another great morning of knitting while I listen to you both.
Hi Tracie, I would not have thought about sky blue or grey? and burgundy together, but it looks great! Jodi, the pink so suits you - Geri, take care and get well, Traci's son - congratulations! Much love ❤
While you are taking a cruise, I will be in Shetland! I'm so excited I'm already packed! I can't wait to squish all the yarn! I want to knit that vest too, and will hopefully be able to get all the yarn on my vacation.
Beautiful vest Traci. Those colours are incredible on you. And I'm so sad you guys can't hear me yelling to look at the adorable squirrel that kept making cameos.
Jodi I just got my yarn order with the free tape measure and blingy bag. L❤VE! Made my week. THANK YOU for offering such a great deal for those of us who couldn't make it to the festival. 🤗💕
Thanks again girls. I love the live format. I always follow the chat and feel like I’m there even though I very rarely catch a live live. I love the mash up of conversation. Jodi I received my magnificent fluff. Was only a fortnight to Australia. How amazing is the bag and I love the tape measure too. Thanks so much. Christine Kingaroy Qld Australia.
I want to make a list of fiber festivals across North America and road trip it one year. It’s on my bucket list!!! You guys are just the best. I just smile for 2 hours straight 😃😃😃. I definitely have had and have a couple skeins I bought in a yarn haze. I’ve over dyed and I’m soooo much happier. I don’t regret the over dye. You know your gut. Have a marvelous cruise
First of all - your best is absolutely amazing. You did a fantastic job. The purple looks great on you - I would live to see it in purple but I understand if you don’t think you will wear it. I don’t have a lot of purple in my wardrobe either but want to knit some sweaters with purple. I’m love you girls, you make me laugh.
Crafting at the movies has already happened in Edmonton. Just this summer, organized by Little Blue Fibre studio. Fibre nook was also involved. We watched Josie and the Pussycats. It was amazing!!!
I love your podcast. Really enjoy the conversations and the welcoming space you provide. The self striping or gradient yarn is a favorite of mine - have you tried the yarn at Junction Fiber Mill? It’s one of my new favorite places to get that kind of yarn and they are always developing new color combinations. Enjoy your cruise and travel safe!!🎉❤
Our vest is amazing! Love it ❤ .... I think you should start a book club. Recommend a book and we can enjoy it together. I am always looking for new books and suggestions. Also... a the beginning of your video, there was a Chipmunk on your fence was cracking me up.
Traci! The moment you pulled out the hot pink yarn your face lit up. Two things: the color made you happy and your face glowed next to it. Not so with the purplish yarn. I say don’t waste your time on the purplish yarn. Follow your joy. Great episode!
That purple or whatever.....IS your color Tracie! It will look fantastic on you!!! Also, I am hearing the Benetton shirts are in Costco Canada only. But I haven't looked so I'm not 100% certain.
Those vest-colours are amazing on you! Maybe the purple yarn would complement you more if it was warmer? Live the idea of over dyeing with that cherry colour! Warm it up a bit and deepening it 😍
Traci - the purple yarn - it is a much softer, dustier shade of color than I'm used to seeing you wear. You love many colors, but they've always been brighter, richer, more saturated color than this purple is. Since you love the yarn itself, I agree, you should let Jodi dye it a color that is brighter, deeper, and makes your heart sing more.
Tracie, I bought this exact yarn and colour in 2019 or 2020, I don’t remember exactly. I just finished knitting a pressed flowers with it. The contrast colour changed everything. My contrast was an orangey rust. I don’t remember if the colour way was called cat bells maybe. I really the the purple, but it’s not my a colour that looks good on me neither, but the contrast helps.
Love the vest congrats, yes Tracie the Framed sweater is dominant colour on one stripe and then the next stripe the background is dominant - that was my understanding too.
For the smoky purple yarn, what if you did a color work with like a coral colored 2nd yarn that had a little bit of variegation to it. I think that would be beautiful
Tracie, I meant to write to you regarding your comment on the color dominance situation. I knew exactly what you were talking about when you mentioned it on the podcast. I am making the frame your face cowl and the pattern does switch in the middle where the background becomes the foreground. In other words, if you look at the star in the pattern... the star on the right is one color whereas the star on the left is the contrast color. It's an interesting design concept from Andrea. The switch happens in the middle of the chart. I hope this helps explain. You seemed to think you may have misspoke but you didn't.
Your color domanace theory is correct, but on this pattern, it changes every "star square " ..since the 2 colors switch places ?! I LOVE my first skein of Franky Grey Fiber ...and this bag is to die for ! THANK YOU !
Hi Gals! About color dominance in the Framed sweater: I heard Andrea Mowry say (in her podcast) that she didn't change her yarn position as she did the colorwork, so I would say no worries! Or have your lighter color be the dominate because the contrast color will be prone to be more visually dominate anyway
Wasps ARE the flying assholes of the insect world. So bad in the Kootenays too! But more importantly Tracie I LOVE the vest, it’s perfection, Jodi I am also on the vest train, maybe cables for me. Happy cruising!
Hi, the wool looks like a stormy grey. Could you knit it with a mohair to adjust the colour a speckle would be lovely. Or even try a tweed thread. Jo xxx
I bought a sweater quantity of unspun online and in my hurry I hit the wrong colour!! 😂 So my plan is to knit a textured sweater with it, and then dye it.
Okay… the squirrel at the beginning cracked me up! Stole the show in the background!
Watching from Australia.Thought it might have been a rat. Oh… I love the vest ❤
Shetlander here. We don't have squirrels and I love them ❤
I cannot tell you how much I LOVE watching you two!! Love it all from start to finish!!
OMG the squirrel on the fence. How cute

I hope your mom heals quickly! Also, Jodi I received the yarn I order from Frankie Grey Fibers and it is so beautiful. Smells good too.
Tracie! You killed that vest!!!😮
Good morning from Saskatoon. Love listening to you lovely sisters. Making pickles and listening and watching you ladies makes my Friday!
Love your vest Tracie. You are correct regarding dominant color in your left hand and background in your right. Jodi, your scarf is awesome, too.
Sending lots of love to your Mum for a speedy recovery! Loved your podcast as always. You both inspire me so much! Enjoy your East Coast cruise ladies!
Tracy, I read the book you recommended and I absolutely loved it. I too keep thinking of it. Great story. Thanks for sharing. 🥰
What a great job on the vest. It looks beautiful. Loved the little squirrel visits.
Hello Traci and Jody! I am late to watching this BUT I am local to Edmonton and I love the idea of a crafting movie night!! I believe the Garneau theatre often organizes different types of movie viewing experiences so that might be a good venue to check out. I would be there for sure!!
Absolutely the most gorgeous vest! Great accomplishment! ❤
Geri take care and get well soon. You must be the best because you have two wonderful daughters 😊

When Jodi sees the squirrel at 30:08......it's so hysterical!

@@jenniswisher2441 thanks!
I had to have one of the new knitter's caddy, in purple! I received it a few days ago, I absolutely love it!!!!
First of all - your best is absolutely amazing. You did a fantastic job.

Oh! The purple yarn would be a beautiful textured vest.
That blue patch-looking fabric in the cute bag resembles the nordic mix sweater! Love it!

Congrats on your son’s engagement. My daughter got engaged last week so I can totally relate!
Gift knit ideas and recommendations for Christmas would be great. I knit dish cloths all summer for Christmas gifts... everyone loves them
That yarn looks like a donkey grey / taupe on screen . Beautiful looks nice when you hold it up to your face . 😍
That purple or whatever.....IS your color Tracie! It will look fantastic on you!!! Also, I am hearing the Benetton shirts are in Costco Canada only. But I haven't looked so I'm not 100% certain.
Love the vest! Tracie, i usually needle felt my steek before blocking, bloc, then cut open. Usually works well for me!
You just cost me a trip to Amazon to buy a new book. All the Colors of the Dark arrives tomorrow lol.
Love that idea get the gauge you like with yarn and find a pattern!
Loving your vest. It looks stunning on you.
Congratulations Tracie, that's amazing!!! Gerry, feel better soon.

Love the vest, Traci

If anyone missed it, a cute red squirrel was curious what was going on at about 6:30 into the video on the top of the fence. 🤭
I got my Frankie Gray squishy mail today Love it!!
Best to Geri😊! Hope you’re well! I know about coming down stairs with your arms full. Minor injuries but I’ve been careful not to do it again. 😊
Tracy the purple would look beautiful on you!

Oh Traci, it’s perfect❤❤❤
I’m trying to use my yarn that I won’t use for myself but is still excellent yarn for gift knits or making stuff for my kids and husband :)
Wisconsin Sheep & Wool.....woot woot!!!! Cant wait!!!
I am so glad you like Stripes not Stripes sweater! ❤
You could knit a mosaic pattern with the purple yarn as the cc and a gray or brown as the mc and that would turn out a nice overall color.
“Fall is knitter Super Bowl” that is so true. 😊
I enjoy your episodes SO much! Question… are you wearing the same identical glasses frames ??? Have a great time on your cruise, sounds fabulous!
Andrea is coming out with a hat pattern for that so people can also buy that pattern if they want to for framed

I just tried to check out the book…I have to wait 18 weeks!
Sandi from Edmonton…I would love a movie and craft night. I believe the Garneau Theatre is open to renting their theatre.
Wasps ARE the flying assholes of the insect world. So bad in the Kootenays too! But more importantly Tracie I LOVE the vest, it’s perfection, Jodi I am also on the vest train, maybe cables for me. Happy cruising!
All the best JERRY! Wishing you a quick recovery.. ❤
Traci I love that purple yarn on you , please knit it! Xx
Traci! Amazing vest 🎉🎉🎉
Tracie, I thought the same thing about the framed pattern. Nothing to feel bad about!
You will have a blast in Mary Jane Mucklestone’s. colourwork class. I took one at Knit City Toronto.
Hi, the wool looks like a stormy grey. Could you knit it with a mohair to adjust the colour a speckle would be lovely. Or even try a tweed thread. Jo xxx
We just did Knit at Night in Tulsa,OK! All crafters were welcome. The Urban Acres and Scissors Knits were the hosts. ❤️
Love you guys
I bought a sweater quantity of unspun online and in my hurry I hit the wrong colour!! 😂 So my plan is to knit a textured sweater with it, and then dye it.
Re purple yarn. What if you knit a favorite pattern. Than see. Make sure you have leftover to swatch a couple of fabric if you want to dye test?
Jodi, I love your sparkly shawl! What’s the yarn and pattern if you don’t mind sharing?
Does the lawn guy have a pet squirrel?😂
