they focused on the beautiful big map, they forgot about the fish. fish physics, lines, fishing rods ... it's a pity it could have been a great game, instead it looks like a phone game
I was so excited for the release of this game but everything looks so off.. the water looks horrible, doesn't seem to be visually affected by wind also looks murky in some places but somehow you can see fish perfectly as if it was crystal clear water, the fish animations are like on or off (I mean a swim forward state and a not move at all state), in general the fish themselves look very dated. Also I'm very concerned about the lack of upgrades for the boat, lack of rod stands, bottom fishing and fly fishing. Sometimes I think "well maybe the hype got the better of me" but then I remember that fishing planet exists, russian fishing etc etc and honestly I cant help but feel like there will be a lot of unfulfilled promises from the devs. I will still buy it and try it myself but my hopes for this game have certainly taken a hit

@@mikewow I think the progression was speed up for the pre-release YT Content to show off more of the game. I'd say it'll probably just as grindy as COTW (in a good way, at least I myself like the grind ^^)
@@Oroberus I found COTW not even that grindy. I have less then 30 hours and i can shoot every animal in the game. I think i had it on close to 20 hours. Shot a diamond red deer in 16 hours playtime
love fishing sims that simulate catching 20 pound rainbow trout on every other cast that take 3 seconds to pull in the boat. great fun. lots of simulation.
I understand the game is not what everyone expected and still needs some work, but I’m still really excited to play it, I’ve not been able to go fishing for real in about 3 years because I used to go with my dad, but he had a heart attack and his health has deteriorated and is unable to go. So I love playing fishing games when I can.
I don’t want to slag off the team too much cause I’m sure they tried hard on this but I’m afraid this looks like a flop to me. There are sooooooo many issues I’ve seen I’m probably not even gunna buy it. I’ve just compared it to Russian fishing 4 and it doesn’t even come close, even with the way the water looks. They really missed the mark with the running water. I know it’s easy to say but the water doesn’t interact with the rocks and banks it just doesn’t look right. It should have fast parts, eddys and boils behind rocks where fish would actually lie! You should be able to read the river and learn where the fish would lie, not just cast out and there are fish everywhere and anywhere! It just looks like moving water with rocks and fish thrown in. So disappointed.
As a fellow RF4 player I chuckled a bit when he said “grinded a few hours and bought the best gear in the game”, hope I’ll be getting my first venga soon and I’m LVL 40 in RF4 😂

My buddy bought me this recently while it was on sale and after dumping almost 1000 hours in the hunter cotw. This is refreshing. As I haven’t gone fishin in about 4 years now. Use to all the time when my dad had a boat. But he soon switched to a kayak and rigged it up with a trolling motor and can control it entirely with peddles that steer the motor. With 4 speed modes, it’s super fun and hands free while you’re fishing. Would love some kayak variations for river fishing.

Don't know how realistic this game is but the distance with the lure could be either that the lure has more air resistance compared to a spoon or so. And also how much the rod is rated for. If you have a high rated rod with a light lure you won't come far even with the most expensive stuff 💪 great video!
There's a lot of little things like using a landing net / inventory different landing nets , releasing the fish a little animation of fish swimming off that cow could have added . It just looks like it should have just been a DLC for the hunter

having caught the diamond rainbow in the river, The worlds largest wild rainbow trout reside in the Kvichak River in Alaska, which flows from the biggest lake in alaska to bristol bay. The rainbows there get so big because of the massive red salmon run they take advantage of for the eggs.

This game compared to the free game Fishing Planet is a joke sadly. I was SOO hyped but this? nahhh.

They should make it so you just can't see the fish unless they jump in fast water might be an easy fix to atleast something before launch
