  • Hey! Some of you requested another walk through Clayton's yard, so I figured i'd try to get a few shots of some of the classic iron while we were there looking for a front for our 1951 Chevy Bel Air "Will it Run?"project car...
Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our little channel here; we genuinely appreciate it and look forward to bringing you more from the zero-budget clunker end of the classic car spectrum.
All the very best from me and the Agents and of course Stella and Francine! More on the way soon!
Also: the shirt designs and stickers are finished, so we're just getting the shopping-website-thingy set up now. I'll do a vid once its all working, cheers!

When you go to a junkyard and can point out half a dozen cars you used to own you might have a problem! Good job guys, keep it up.

Thanks for the Junk yard tour. The first car I worked on with my Dad I was 8 yrs old and helped him gave him tools and parts on his 1950 oldsmobile with its Rocket 88 took my drivers test on my Moms 1965 Olds Jetstar and then when I was 17 got my Dads Austin A90 Atlantic running and driving that had been leaving a rust ring on his driveway for 10 years. So this is always fun for me to see the old cars . Thanks for sharing.

I like the contrast of hard edged mechanical shapes that somehow work together with the soft organic shapes in a junkyard.

'" We live in a part of the wold that this stuff is still sitting around ". Your innocuous little quip really struck me. Here in the states that is quickly becoming a thing of the past. You can not even keep
a car in your driveway without a current plate on it. Local governments are now fining you for such a offend. In the rural areas, town government are making owners put cars in the garage or insisting they be removed. The number of junkyards have dwindled to a fraction of what they once were. Really love your video !!!!! Oh Canada, eh !

There’s nothing that makes me happier than getting to go on a field trip to Clayton’s! It’s almost like bird watching. I appreciate the play by play on the makes, models and years. . I always have my eye out for a late 40’s salesman sedan. Wish I could afford one. But thanks for the junkyard/museum tour.

    STEL!
(Special guest appearance by the Frankers)
This one takes me back to a typical Saturday morning oh say 35 years ago, wandering around the local junkyards much the same way you did in this video.
I could identify about all of the cars and I knew the yards as well as the owners.
Back then, I was either after "pahts" to keep my junker daily driver together or finding something needed for a brothers' or friends' car.
Typical answer to the common question of "what brings you all the way out here today?"
"Pahts, man. I need paaahhhhts." :-)
These days in this neck of the woods, the very few lots left with vintage iron are pretty much off limits, typically because the owner got in trouble with the tax man or some such so they can't sell to the public anymore.
But if you know someone who knows someone, well....this IS Tennessee, after all. CONGRATS on the 20k subscribers and I'm very proud to know I was one of the early ones. I discovered you some years ago when recuperating from my 3rd bout with cancer and about going out my mind trying to keep myself "busy" in the wee hours when sleep didn't happen easily.
This all may have started out as a lark for you but please do know there are many out here who appreciate all the effort.
    Onwards to 1MILLION! :-)

It’s not just the wind noise, but the CRUNCH CRUNCH of your boots on the Alberta tundra. Hey, that Acadia at around 17:00 looks like it has vintage New Jersey plates! They’re that “wheat” (pale yellowish) color with black characters. Even the XXX-999 format is correct. Are those old Alberta plates?

An amazing place, so much treasure stuff. I was amazed looking at how well the chrome on so many of the cars is surviving and then the one front grille you need to source has a dose of the peelers. That is Murphys law at its best. How many acres does that yard cover. Its so large you need to be careful near the japanese cars as there may still be some japanese soldiers left who dont know that war is over yet .

Nice that you still have the ability to cruise around among this vintage tin. Around here, one of our former "First Ladies" thought all those old cars were "eyesores" so she had most of them removed. ;o( Made all this stuff much harder to find, much more rare, and much more expensive when you do find it. It's still laying around in private "stashes" and on farms and stuff. Barret Jackson and all the TV shows are making this stuff "the rich man's hobby". ;o( Glad you found those Chevy parts. That grille looked pretty straight !!

Wow! Great clip and salvage yard!I am kind of jealous! In Switzerland and probably all of central Europe those kind of salvage yards are gone forever. The classic cars crushed and gone. This makes me want to cry. Since I was a kid, those places had a magnetic attraction to me. Just to see these old cars of the past, rotten or not. For me this was much more interesting than any fair or show. The last one fighting to keep his car graveyard is a crazy friend of mine, he had to give up as he was forced by the stupid goverment to sell or crush his 700 cars (or what was left of them). On the other hand he would never sell things to any car owner for an acceptable price. At the end I got a front half of a car that I fixed up a little and put it in front of my house: An early Fifties Austin A 30.(The Wallace and Gromit car).People are laughing and are calling me nuts. But I don't care.It is nice to see that you can actually buy all those parts. Sometimes people are hording everything and cling to every litttle nut and bolt. Many of those vehicles reacall memories. The Renault Fuego is exactly the same model and color that my uncle used to have. He loved it so much that he even bought a spare car to keep it alive. I cut a complete rear quarter out of it and welded it on my uncles car. But of course the car is dead and gone now.You mentioned that you love 1959 Buicks: They are really beautiful. A Close friend of mine is buying and providing spare parts for the 59 Buicks. He built a storage and repair facility: I bet nearly half of the 59 Buicks in Europe got spare parts from there or are in storage there. Parked 59 Buicks in the place: 3 stations , 3 4doors one convertible and maybe some more cars and plenty of spare parts: Now there are also 2 1958 Buick Limited, (a convertible and a 4 door) and plenty of other classics from Mercedes 190SL to Thunderbirds, Lincoln, Barracuda and more.I hope I did not nerve you to much with my long post. But I loved your clip! As always.

Pretty astonishing area. I think it's been some years now since I saw a Fiat x1/9, but now, in Canada, hanging around on a field, 19:29, still on wheels. It's a good thing to have enough place to just put 'em out there. Over here a lot of the junkyards from my youth are 3 storey worksites or 7 storey flats even, these days. Thanks for the pics.

Hey Scott I owned one of those Datsun station wagons in the late 70's, early 80s for a month or two. My bud and I were 50/50 in a Torino with a misaligned valve guide, that was traded for the most fantastic 60 buick lesabre wagon mostly bondo and a dead cylinder. My bud needed something easier on gas so he got the datsun for $80 from a guy he worked with who bought cars to junk and occasionally got a runner, this lasted till the slave cylinder went out, so while the part was coming we learned how to drive clutchless, put it in first and crank and we're off, 2nd let off gas and pull it in, to stop downshift and turn the ignition off. To keep the buick himself he gave me the datsun with no rockers and a quart a week oil habit, a littleless burning with a little 90wt, but it flew and got scratch in 3 gears. I've always loved 4cylinder stick beaters poor mans sports car, at least the way I drive em

Scott, the Poncho at 10:03 is a 61 Strato Chief 2 door sedan. What is interesting is that the car was factory equipped with a V8 as denoted by the V badge on the heel of the front fender, pretty unusual on a base strato, like a Biscayne. Prolly a 283, but could have been a 280 horse 348 if the right box was ticked. Trans choices were powerglide or 3 on the tree.

I well recall travelling in the late 1970's in a Wolseley version to work on several occasions. Loved the interior the room and compared to other cars I had been in the opulence. It cruised at 65/70 mph quietly. I recall tales that in their day they were some of the most rigid car shells (torsional rigidity).

What a goldmine in that yard!! You're right about not seeing places like that around anymore. Whenever scrap prices goes up I cringe at the thought of uneducated ppl hauling away classics for a few dollars. Thanks for the tour you guys, it's nice to know there's someplace relatively close where the old stuff can still be found and happy 20k Scott!! Just remember us little folk when TH-cam mails you the gold button button award. 😆😆😆 The dogs look great, Fran is looking energized and ready to run. Thanks again for the great content and good times!!

Guys- as with everyone else here- we all have a sick attraction to rusty old relics and TOTALLY appreciate all the journeys you take us on. So much fun & Thank you.
I tell ya- while I sit here in the cosmetic surgeons office waiting room for my wife to spend her money on what she likes- I dream of my 72 Fury wagon & a 70 Pontiac I've been eyeballing.
The Pontiac was in a flood, needs a small patch job on part of the frame, engine was full of water but now runs and needs a tranny but my sickness keeps the glimmer in my eye that it will be mine soon :-)
Looking forward to the t shirts & stickers.

Overdubbing? I haven't been this disappointed since I found out the live album Alive! by Kiss was overdubbed. Keep up the good work, and keep the vids coming!

Wow, I was the first one to watch this gem! Many cars I fell in love with as a kid. Vauxhall and Volvo looked very similar at one point....

That is another car nobody restores is those Olds 88's. My neighbor had one when I was a kid. We used to call it the Tuna Boat. The only memory I have of the car is a blistering hot day near the 4rth of July circa 1974 or so the thing had ice cold AC on a trip to the local hardware store I rode along with my neighbor and his dad drove it like it was Cadillac.

Great tour. BTW, at 6:30 and 10:40 you just breezed by a 1968 Dodge Coronet station wagon without mention. My family had one of those. Same color, too (light green, but with the wood grain trim), and a 383 engine. I inherited it and used it for moving band gear. They're worth quite a lot down here.

Man yall are lucky to be able to walk around those old cars without worrying about wasp and such. Here in Texas you cant go near some cars without runnin for cover after you hear a loud buzzing.

These cars bring me back to my teens. I once owned Four '53 buicks at the same time , a Special, a Super, a Century and a Riviera. Two were straight eights/ 6 volt and two were V8's with 12 volts, Two 2 door hard tops, one 2 door sedan, one 4dr Sedan. I loved them but between my brother and I we had 20 cars in the yard so one day my Mother got mad and made us sell off all but 2 cars each.

Hey thanks for the note! Always a treat to hear from others with the car sickness... I've had it my whole life too, and I remember being told by my dad "all of these cars are gone by Saturday or you're outta here!" haha cheers!

Great Vid! Car yards like this are nearly extinct in the Maritime Provinces.......good to see they still exist. Love the array of cars, I like them all....but the 50's Chrysler products really warm the cockles of my heart. How can you not admire the style and classy sounding names like Regent, Mayfair, Crusader..... Plaza, Belvedere, Savoy.......nothing raises eyebrows more than asking your parts counter guy if he has a ball joint for a 52 Cranbrook in stock.
I love the Ford and Mercury cars as well, I have a 64 Montclair Breezeway right now.
Really enjoy the vids and your appreciation for the long forgotten pedigrees. Looking forward to more and of course future editions of "my classic tire"! Thanks!
