    All my EDC guns have Truglo TFX Pro sights. I got mine on Amazon for $105 ea. I like the combination of tritium and fiber optic. Originally I bought one set, but was so impressed I ordered 3 more sets within days of buying the first set. 1). Kimber Ultra Carry 2 SS .45. 2) Kimber Ultra Carry 2 9mm. 3). SIG Sauer P938 SAS 9mm. 4). Springfield XDs Mod 2 45acp. Truglo makes them for many Brands.

    Thanks. This video sealed it for me.
    My M&P Compact came with factory Trijicon sights and I love them.
    My new Taurus 709 Slim is in the market for Night Sights and I've pretty much decided on Truglo Tritium Pros.

    I actually love how the front is white on that truglow sight. The sight is exactly what I am looking for, it's slick, low and cheaper, WHITE (& better overall imo). I couldn't find a white front with the style I wanted to go with my vp9sk (blk/white custom painted) until I came across these. Win/Win imo, thanks for the comparison too, great video!

    If you're running a red dot in front of the rear sight, the extra hight of the trijicons make it easier to co witness while zeroing the dot or if the battery dies etc... but not worth twice the price. The Truglo pros are awesome. Excellent sight picture day or night. I also actually prefer the white front sight dot to the red. Recently put em on my M&P .40 and couldn't be happier. Definitely recommend.

    • @hopefulvoyage
      @hopefulvoyage 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, are you saying it is impossible or exceedingly more difficult to co-witness with a Tru Glow and a red dot versus the Trijicon and a red dot?

    • @williamharris1485
      @williamharris1485 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hopefulvoyage - Dong V is saying it it much easier to co-witness with the trigicon sights because they sit higher but The truglo's are normal height iron sights and can be paired with a well seated red dot with low/ true installment. For example the RomeoZero rmr red dote from sig. Not difficult since the sig Romeo rmr cam to market. But it was a thing for a while. Now low profile is the way to go. Easy! I hope that helped you to understand. If you can think it we can build it; in gun world all creations are possiable.

    • @CleverCheetah
      @CleverCheetah 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can now buy truglo pros that are meant for RMOs. Meaning they make taller versions so you can use with red dots. Truglos win again.

  • @scottfennell6568

    You are absolutely correct. I have The HDs on my shield and a set of truglo pros on my 226. The HDs are great but I paid $140 for them installed and $80 installed for the pros. Both are outstanding but at almost half the cost, the truglos are the way to go. One last point though, I am not a fan of the tritium/fiberoptic sights, so I was unaware of the pros initially and wish I went with the pros from he beginning.

    Thanks for the great review, I just recently purchased a pair of sights for my two handguns. I love the high visibility front posts in both. I honestly believe orange/white/green is personal preference. I ordered Trijicon HDs a few years ago from MidwayUSA (not to knock them or anything), but they sent me a nice pair of $145 fake sights, sent back without any issues, but still, kind of disappointing. Good comparison, I do like that slight angle you mentioned on the truglo. I think it'll have to hit up the Truglos on the next build. UGH, that front post lift off from the Trijicon's, c'mon guys, do better. I also like set screws, I wish they used 2 screws instead of 1 like in Heinie's set up, but I don't think that matters either way. Always great content, can't wait for the next vid!

    Great review and insight on these sights sir! Your review caused me to buy a set of Tritium Pro's on my new PPS M2 and have Yellow Trijicon HD on my Sig P229. I like the Truglo better! $62 at Buds Guns. The front vial is bigger and brighter than the rear and that helps alot.Just the oppisite on the HD.Only thing about the HD that is better is the inclined steps on the rear sight is better at subduing glare while truglo has some glare off the rear sight face. Because I am color blind the yellow seems to stand out more than red or orange which is why i like the HD more than the white on the truglo. Very similar sight picture on both, and its great day or night! HD is also much taller and sharper as you pointed out.i think I would go with the truglo if I did it again!

    Yeah your right. Theyre 80 bucks for what i need hds would cost me 140 bucks. If i got hds id need to custom order or home make a holster because most what ive found wont fit them. The white during day doesnt bother me at all. Even during a bright day it stands out well against 99% of everything. The dot ratio is much better. The only reason i didnt go with tfx pros is that the back sights are too big and bright that they draw your attention from the front. Im not extra "tactical" but the angled rear sight is another thing to like about these. Having a fairly dull rear sight is EXTREMELY important on the glock im getting because if youve ever taken the slide off one then you know how annoying a sharp edged sight would be.

    Great review! I've been up in the air regarding which sights to get. I had pretty much decided on the Truglos because they are supposed to be sealed so that cleaning fluids & solvents will not harm the white ring or circle. That being said I've read some comments that the Truglos are not as bright at night as others. But then again the durability issue with the white ring "washing off" with solvents or ckeaners. Have you studied that side of the sights out there? Thanks much, Jim

    • @PoeOutdoors
      @PoeOutdoors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! The lack of brightness is just another an Internet lie. As I said in the review, the front tritium vial is larger than the back ones making it easy to distinguish the front from the back. The HDs aren't like that.
      I ended up installing the Truglos on my full size VP9 yesterday and removed the Trijicon HDs. Exceptional visibility, the finish quality is better and more durable the the HDs, the tritium lasts one year longer but they cost half as much. I've had no issues with cleaners hurting them at all. I can't say enough about these sights especially for the money.

      Frank Lee Morris I mention in the video the Truglos would be my pick. The white is just as fast on target as the neon orange or green. With the much lower cost and better finish they are better sights to me.

    Have the HDs(yellow) on a few Glocks and those sharp corners do a number on my elbow and forearm when carrying under a thin shirt. Design would be perfect for me if the corners were beveled. Might give the the Truglos a look.

    Orange and green are fine for day shooting, but as the sun goes down a white dot stands out the best hands down. A white ring around tritium should be on the front of your defense pistol.

      These TruGlos were pretty new to market at the time I did the video, wasn't anything available on longivity then. They're great sights and cost 1/2 the money as Trijicons. If they lasted 2 or even 3 years years less it's still a better deal.

    • @PoeOutdoors

      Red October Im not sure what you're asking but I will try to answer. My VP9sk came with the luminescent sights since I planned to add Trijicon HDs anyway. Finding something with no sharp edges, 1/2 the price and a year longer tritium life squashed the HD plan.

    Yeah, you're right about them not making sites for many pistols. Well, that's because all these accessories companies think that Glock ( Not knocking Glock so chill out fan boys ) is the only gun made. So that tells you these companies don't really care for anybody or anything besides their bottom dollar.

  • @brianwilson6202

    Vp9 are good looking handguns but that backplate area I never could get past that I just do not like it kinda high bore as well then the guns size compared to overall capacity of them. Terrible 10 rounds I believe when I had my vp9 sk le and its litterly a glock 19 sized gun nearly and that's 10 rounds compared to 15. I can't see owning it for that alone too many better options with much higher capacity

    • @PoeOutdoors
      @PoeOutdoors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HK is stingy with capacity no doubt. A lot goes into my decision when it comes to a carry gun. Capacity is just one of the factors and isn't at the top of my list. A handgun that holds 15, 17 or 21 rounds is worthless to someone who can't shoot it well. We all have to develop a criteria for choosing what we carry and will vary depending on the individual.
